    your video has been the most helpful to me because you actually use all the fittings (elbows) as the visual while you explain in a direct manner. thanks for making your videos.

      I just got a grey 3"pvc long sweep elbow with a 11/2 side inlet from Restore and it has a G on it. Do you know what brand this is?🤔

    really great thanks i’m assuming the short 90 isn’t allowed because it’s too hard to snake and can clog

    Another awesome video. I really like that yellow colored GSR Brand 2x1-1/2 combo y ( one piece). Part # 4320. Very awesome 👌🙂

      I am pretty sure it was made before 1975, I saw some GSR PVC from 1975 that was white.

      I’m pretty sure it’s got to be before 1975. I got a yellow gsr pvc 3x3x2x2 double wye part number 2377. I’m guessing about 1974.

      @@matthewlassise7607 do you know when they stopped the production of the grey SCH 40 fittings? I have seen grey fittings sold by the same seller that is selling white fittings so I would assume the grey ones got discontinued more recently.

    • @matthewlassise7607
      @matthewlassise7607 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think probably 1977 was the last year that grey pvc schedule 40 fittings were made.

      @@matthewlassise7607 I never knew GSR made ABS pressure fittings until I saw part of an episode of mr rogers neighborhood from 1981 where they had GSR ABS pressure fittings connecting to a fountain. I found some ABS pressure fittings a few months later, they were marked with sloane so they were probably made before 1969.

    What is the reason to either use black ABS drain pipe vs white PVC drain pipe? Is it region-specific? Are they interchangeable? Are there applications where only one of the two can be used, but not the other?

    • @jacksplumbingvideos7147
      @jacksplumbingvideos7147  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In Wisconsin we can use both, but pvc is common. Pvc is better with chemicals than abs.

    Double wye can be used upright, I believe. Just not if you need venting. Am I wrong?

    • @jacksplumbingvideos7147
      @jacksplumbingvideos7147  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If it is to connect a vertical vent to a horizontal trap arm then you can’t use it, if it is just to connect drains that have already been vented then you are fine.

    I'm not sure on the 90⁰ 2" and 3" elbows to use long radius or not.
    If I have a 2" horizontal transitioning up, or vertical, to be a drain for vanity or kitchen sink, is regular 90⁰ okay, or needs to be long sweep?

    • @jacksplumbingvideos7147
      @jacksplumbingvideos7147  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Preferably a long sweep which would probably be required if the vertical pipe dumps into a horizontal pipe.

      @@jacksplumbingvideos7147 Personally, I believe both will work, but I want to pass inspection. I have a regular one installed now, but someone said that needed to be long sweep. So I'm just doing some research on what is required over being preferred.

    What pipe should be used for toilet drain?

    • @jacksplumbingvideos7147
      @jacksplumbingvideos7147  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      PVC, ABS, cast iron, or copper pipe. With a toilet closet bend which is the elbow directly under the toilet you can use a reducing closet bend, a long sweep 90, or a short sweep 90, this is the only time you can use the short elbow horizontally.
