    Another great vid a surprisingly high "pre mod" reading you usually see our (pre08) UK bikes in the 13,s so definitely worthwhile,keep up the good work.

    THat's pretty decent charge voltage to begin with.
    My connector started to melt, causing very poor connection, which lead to no more than about 12.1 volts. Granted, my DRZ is 21 years old now too. I did the free power mod a few days ago due to very bad charging on my last two rides.

    Is this necessary? I own a DRZ and just curious what the try benefits are here?

      It's a beneficial mod to increase charging voltage to the battery. The mod reduces resistance in the charging system.

    I have a 2006 DRZ400SM for a week now and it charges at around 13.4V. Is this enough to power everything up?

      It is but it could be better if you did this modification

    Where do the two wires go that you sealed off?

    • @DRZWhisperer
      @DRZWhisperer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those wires go to the main wire harness. They have a long path through the harness before they get to the battery. That is why we cap them off.

      I think we may have a language barrier between us. Hopefully you are trying to tell me that you did this and it helped you get yours going again.

    What methods do you use to dial in jetting?

    • @DRZWhisperer
      @DRZWhisperer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For these carbs, JD has some tables for jets that generally handle the ranges of setups and elevations and combinations of all of these. That being said, I like to"read the plug" for wide open throttle operation to establish or confirm the main jet setting. Pilot jet is confirmed partially ease of startup, efficacy of the mixture screw, throttle response, and presence or no presence of deceleration pop. Needle and needle clip position is established by trial and error of off idle operation and throttle response.

      Thanks, I'll be re jetting for higher altitude soon on a 21' drz400.

      @@terry9313 I think if you get a JD kit little guide you through everything you need to know. That video is coming up next actually working on it right now as soon as my garage needs up. Finishing reinstalling the carburetor, and startup then I will edit that video and get it out as soon as possible.
