    The pro tip about the scarf versus using a bonnet is key. I noticed the same, my hair looks better for longer. I think it has something to do with the bonnet moving around causing frizz. I love your locs girl!

      Agreed! I do my own reties and have noticed less marrying after wearing a scar for a month. I also don't have to deal as much with individual locs that just want to go the opposite direction from the rest lol

      I can also attest to the scarf over the bonnet. My hair has less frizz when I use the scarf. Thanks for giving us this nighttime routine. I didn’t have one besides flat twisting or braiding down my loc’s for stretch the next day. I am 8 months into my journey.

  • @Ifeyinwa
    @Ifeyinwa  ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Sorry if it wasn’t clear but I do not do this every single night. I typically use oil on my scalp once a week and spritz my scalp with water a couple times a week. Detangling and stretching I do every night.
    I would not recommend this routine for starter locs. Starter locs need to be left alone (in my experience) 🤗

    Thank you so much for this video, Mama! I've noticed that you workout often in your vlogs, and I admire that! If it's possible, could you make a video elaborating on managing locs, particularly starter locs, while being active/working out?

      I honestly didn’t do too much to my locs for the first 6 months or so… I am such a wake up and go kind of girl but let me think about this, I think it’s a great idea 🥰

      @@Ifeyinwa Ah, HI! Thank you! I was referring to what you do to combat odor, buildup, and dampness from the sweat, specifically. Maybe you also style your locs so that there's minimal shrinkage/slippage and bunching? It'd be great if you could throw that in as a bit in one of your upcoming videos. I'm pleased with how your locs are turning out, so I'd trust your advice, if you don't mind!

I’m early on in my micro locs journey also and learning a lot about each and every day . Like yourself previously, I too go to Jus u for my reties and find their whole appointment system doesn’t really work for me . I just had my wash day 2 days ago. And noticed some lint on ends in the back! I took a T-Pin and slowly pulled it out. I love sweaters. So I have to be very careful with what we wear. The ends will pull on the fuzz of the sweaters

    I have almost 600 locs I need to recount but I know it’s on the higher end. Would you consider combining them ? I love the look but if I were to ever maintain myself it seems very overwhelming. And I’ve seen some opinions on Instagram that having over 500 micro locs is unfair to other loctitions & you will probably have to combine down the line…Which is another question do you think you will self retie?

    • @Ifeyinwa
      @Ifeyinwa  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No I don’t plan to ever self retie or combine my locs. I’ve also never heard any locticians complain about the number of locs. I know some will charge more depending on how many locs you have or how long your reties take, so I don’t think it’s unfair as they are being compensated for their time.
