As a Smosh fan, I would like to thank Rhett and Link for taking care of Smosh for a while. I also love that Charlie is also being supportive about this. It's just so wholesome to see big youtubers support each other.
Smosh has been garbage tho ever since it was sold in 11. I remember having watched them as a kid and the absolutely hating them afterwards. I think the views also crashed and the channel stagnated in growth. I’m surprised it still exists at all... Too bad we’re not children anymore so I highly doubt we’ll enjoy the content again unless they make it for adults now?
The reason they were even able to purchase the Smosh brand is because Rhett and Link are literally amazing people and don't care about the money. They care about making people happy and I think they knew how happy people would be with this sorta thing
A thing that should be mentioned, recognized, and appreciated, is how how Ian stuck with the Smosh throughout it's ups and many downs. In Anthony's "I Spent A Day With Ian Hecox" he mentioned how for years he became numb and stopped having emotions(paraphrasing). He needed to go to a therapist to deal with a lot of stuff emotionally and psychologically from everything going on with Smosh and his personal life. He stuck with the company and the people working there. So props to Ian, very much a commendable person.
I love that Rhett & Link were not only a huge step in bringing back the old Smosh but also how open Ian & Anthony are about their friendship, most people online would act like they were always friends with no issues but Ian & Anthony are very open about how they were driven apart but brought back through various sources
And they still have room to get closer, Right now they are not as close as they were back then BUT they are different people now and they are becoming new friends getting to know each other all over again. In some ways I think their friendship will prosper even more now. They were stunted by Smosh and couldn't become real friends as they got older but now they can.
Smosh got sooo screwed by Defy Media, which managed to burn through (grift? embezzle?) more than $70 million in venture capital before collapsing. Many of Defy’s creator brand acquisitions paid with “equity” in Defy (common stock not recoverable in a bankruptcy). Truly shady, lizard conduct. Rhett & Link are superheroes here- prioritizing moral sense in their business sense.
It’s nice to hear Smosh is back with its original creators of Ian and Anthony; I wish Nigahiga would return too with Ryan and the rest of his friends/crew too since the two channels were the very first TH-camrs I started watching for their funny videos/skits

It's an interesting case cause Smosh was probably still profitable as a whole since Smosh Pit and Sosh Gaming are getting views on a very low budget. But, the main channel was not. So depending on the price they bought it for, it was an ok investment for Mythical regardless. Also they may still have a some stake in it.

Smosh was probably bought by the best people possible. Not only can Rhett & Link understand as content creators, but they're also best friends too. Im sure they've had their own experiences dealing with eachother and wanted to support Ian and Anthony get back together. It was really wholesome during their interview how Ian describes how Link was so excited for them.
Anthony has a channel where he interviews people and in his latest he interviews Ian. And it's really nice hearing how they reconnected and re-discovered their friendship after drifting apart and maturing. Both of them resigned to the idea that they might not be friends anymore, but they met up a year ago and were both surprised that they still had their passion and sense of humour in the same place. Hope it goes well for them!
Yeah, it was really awesome hearing about how Anthony for once was the one really excited and hopeful about Smosh, and how despite their worries about losing their touch they still managed to write good scripts and laugh a lot together.

@@maomekat2369 if it was about money, Anthony wouldn't have left the brand in the first place, and he certainly wouldn't have turned back to it now when his own stuff is doing well on it's own. They definitely had a falling out in the past where they lost their connection, but that doesn't mean the only way to get that connection back is through money.. they just realized that the things they thought they lost, their passion, chemistry, sense of humor, all that stuff was still there.

I'm always shocked to see how huge Rhett and Link have managed to stay, Those two deserve a lot of Credit for picking up Smosh when Defy died. Excited to see what Ian and Anthony Come up with!
I'm kind of shocked too. I stopped watching them a long while back, when they were much smaller, because their content just didn't really appeal to me anymore... I can't believe how huge they've become since then. I'm happy for them, TH-cam needs more genuinely decent people running this place, less Paul Brothers and scummy prank channels.
They just do so much behind the scenes, it’s incredible. It’s nothing they’d ever brag about. They genuinely put so much back into the community they came from. I don’t watch their content much anymore just because it’s not my style but I love Rhett and Link as people so much. If I recall correctly, Jarvis Johnson is somehow under the mythical umbrella now too (or maybe just his podcast) and they were so humble about their life changing support to all these other creators when Jarvis interviewed Link talking about it. ETA: I went back to check and it turns out Mythical has a creator accelerator fund that invested in Jarvis’ content as well as providing support to several up and coming channels.
Seeing Ian and Anthony back making content together put a smile on my face: they were my childhood, and I’m so happy they’re back making skits again. I’m excited to see what they have to bring.
Also its awesome to see the two of them on good terms again. Kinda inspirational too, about two childhood friends making funny videos together, then losing their friendship from the stress of the business side. Now after 6 years later, both communicating and understanding eachothers feelings and finally rekindle their relationship.
We all should be thankful towards Rhett and Link for everything. They not only saved the channel by buying it but, gave it back when they asked YEARS later. That's insane.
I was 14 when I first discovered Smosh back in 06. Always loved their content when Ian and Anthony were the ones in the skits. I'm 31 now and through that period where they decided to sell the channel I feel like so much has changed and I'm looking forward to seeing how they will make their skits now while bringing back that sense of nostalgia.
Im 23 and loved smosh back in the day. Rediscovered their content 2 years ago. the only good channel now is Smosh Pit, the skits are too cringe for me now. but when they are just trying to make each other laugh, they have some really good moments.
They were the only ones making content like a TH-camr before TH-camr became a thing and then also getting paid for it later on. I was also in middle school when they started. I never watched them but that’s all that everyone would talk about when they mentioned TH-cam at school. I started watching Anthony’s content the past year and prefer his new style. I did go back to watch their older stuff to see everything I missed when they were popular. It’s nice that they came together again ❤
I think it's more than Rhett and Link being TH-camrs and knowing the struggles. I really think it's also them just being genuinely good people. Yeah, I don't know them personally, but from what I've seen of their show, of their podcasts, and how their crew talks about them, I think they just want to do what they think is right. And I love this
I think it's important that Mythical Entertainment isn't public, they can do this because they probably don't care if they make a little less money and don't have any shareholder's pressure to only choose what's profitable, and they helped fellow creators that are probably their friends
As well known as Smosh still is, they are severely underappreciated for shaping modern content creation and social media. Think about all that has come from the early days of TH-cam
smosh was a major key in shaping youtube as it is today, just most people are too young or did not watch youtube to understand, people who live off youtube may not know that the reason they can is because of channels like smosh

All I know of Smosh is that they were big. So famous for being famous. That's it. Never heard anything bad about them though and reuniting is always sweet to see.
The amazing thing about Rhett and Link is that they were supportive throughout the entire process and even encouraged them to purchase Smosh again. Rhett and Link are god sent. They’re such an amazing influence to me especially as they’ve been apart of my life since their first ever Will it? episode. I’m so glad there’s people like them in this world that bring up others in such ways that they do and to other people.
Wow. Now that I'm in my 30's, it's rare that I'm genuinely "giddy" but as soon as you said that Anthony and Ian owned Smosh, I was suddenly 14 again and filled with joyful nostalgia. _It'll be good to have both of those boys back where they belong_ ❤
i remember when i was 10 i wrote smosh a card and drew terrible portraits of them in hopes I would make their mail opening series. so happy to see them back together, its healing to my inner child

I am happy that for the most part people have stopped blaming the current Smosh cast and Anthony leaving as the reason why Smosh struggled for a while. It was Defy’s lack of empathy or understanding of what the original creators wanted for their company and overworking them to the point of a lot of what they released had no passion from who created. And this included the last years that Anthony was still with Defy era Smosh. Bottom line, as someone who wasn’t able to grow up with these legends as a kid, I’m grateful for being able to experiencing them as an adult. Here’s to many more years of Smosh to come💙
I've always respected and regarded Rhett and Link, Mythical, GMM or whatever you wanna call them as a whole as one of the greatest to ever do it. And they solidified that even more after I found out that they saved Smosh. Fucking goated group of people.
I watched them back when I was a kid / teenager, used to love their sketches a lot back then. I'm 27 now and haven't really been following either of them for the past few years, but I am very happy to see this huge part of my childhood finally being mended. Best wishes to both of them 🥰

Thank you so much, Charlie. I've been a subscriber to smosh ever since it started. They made my childhood and over the years along with the Ian and Anthony and the channel we've all grown, but man, does it bring a smile to my child self to see these buddies back together again.
Like I said on Anthony's video "I spent a day with Ian Hecox" it's so sad what happened to these guys as not only creators, but as best friends. The legacy they hold and the power they held at the time of their peak; I mean, I'd argue they had a part in building not only youtube, but the internet. In the hazardous sludge that is the internet, I'm glad we could have news like this.
I’m so happy for them. They were taken advantage of by defy, however, defy gave us the extra talent of shayne, Courtney, Damien, Noah, Keith, etc. Anthony left and then defy went under. So much love and respect for mythical for both buying them and then selling back to Ian and Anthony. It’s come full circle. They’ll be producing the same content we’ve loved on Smosh games and Smosh pit for years and we also get new sketches on the main channel from Ian and Anthony. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Seems like we’re really getting the best of both worlds.
"Extra talent" I tried to like it for a friend and suggested "best of" compilations to give it a chance The girl started crying because they were so bad. She assumed I made her look it up to make fun of it. Like she assumed I knew it would suck instead of how she should realize they were never funny to begin with. Good moments were a pipe dream. Not sure how regular length episodes were better for her and why she assumed anyone liked those, but being faced with their "best of the best" or rather, lack thereof, suddenly made her realize we all hated long form episodes??? She stopped putting it on the t.v. when we came over Current smosh content is for low functioning adults and tweens. Its bottom of the barrel corporate safe zoned topics and trends by a group of fake friends gathered by said corporation, who dont even have moments of self aware, grown-up irony like rhett and link sometimes have. And I hate rhett and link.

Ian and Anthony fetching their Mail will always stand as my favourite Smosh Sketch, and that unique chemistry shared between them was so special... The possibility of seeing them back together is truly magical, and something I never thought I'd get to see again in a contemporary context
I just want to give a shout out to Rhett and Link too. They are some of the most consistent and wholesome TH-camrs on the platform who have been around almost as long as Smosh has. But yeah I’m excited to see Smosh back! I do hope Anthony still does his interview videos too. I really enjoyed and actually learned a lot from many of them.
People fail to realize that smosh are literally pioneers of the entire internet, and just social media and content creation. Without them we hardly have anything else now

Ian actually talked about the conversation with Rhett and Link in an interview with Anthony on his channel. He said that they were just as excited as he and Anthony were, and that the business was secondary to them to the excitement of getting Smosh back in the founders hands
I'm interested to see their new content. Smosh's humor was a product of its time but Ian and Anthony have grown since then so I'm curious to see what they have cooking.
I think the extra cast members are greta, but their humor is just too different from my own. I couldn't get into it like I thought I could. Esp their latest Smosh pit with Anthony. The woman was trying to make them laugh with the water spitting laugh challenge. She could only come up with s*x jokes, like Amy schumer- and race jokes, to bait them into laughing. It was funny the first time, but after that it was just cringe. She tried three times. Just an example of how their humor is not my own. The only times I found myself truly laughing, was when Anthony and Ian were trying to make others laugh. My bf is also a huge fan of Smosh. He couldn't watch the episode of Smosh pit because it was.... Interesting

im 17 and quite literally grew up on smosh, my brother and i would pretend we were apart of the food battles and reference videos every single day. i'm genuinely so happy to see them back together again. thank you rhett and link man.
When I saw the announcement and video, i just thought it was neat that Ian and Anthony were back together But when Ian's mom walked in at the end of the video, I was hit with such a nostalgia bomb I almost had a tear in my eye The boys are back in town!!

I’m super excited to see what Ian and Anthony do with Smosh going forward! Smosh was one of the first channels I watched on TH-cam. Just seeing the thumbnail for their announcement video with Ian and Anthony next to each other gave me a blast of nostalgia. I just turned 29 a few days ago and I still remember my best friend and I laughing our asses off watching their videos after school when we were teens like it was yesterday.
As someone that grew up and lived that early era of TH-cam, I too find it interesting how so many channels were just too early for their time and I'm so hyped to see Smosh return the way it did. But I definitely don't go back to look at them for what they could've been but more or less sit back and enjoy the nostalgia of what it was like to watch everyone else do the exact same thing I was doing at that time and we had no clue what we were doing the whole time. It was beautiful, it was free, and it was a magical time that we'll never experience again, but goddammit Smosh is back and I can't help but to feel change in the winds with this, a time of TH-cam renaissance is upon us. Some of that magic has returned today, and today as a 28 year old man, I revel in what it felt like to be a kid with no worries again. Thank you Smosh, and thank you Cr1t1kal, you were a part of this journey too and still are a monument of TH-camrs.
As someone who grew up with Smosh and watched a lot of their videos, Anthony coming back is truly awesome. I was very shocked and upset when he left, but knew he would come back someday.

Without any clear or obvious idea on whether Anthony and Ian are still friends or at least talking to each other you would assume they both drifted away towards different places and even Ian thinks so too as he mentioned in the latest video of Anthony. This whole thing is just wholesome and great to hear especially seeing how Anthony and Ian confronted each other in a conversation like two old friends who never saw each other for a long time reconciling, reminiscing the past and looking forward into the future with Anthony's new video with Ian. Absolutely Heartwarming.

I have always known smosh since the early days, and never liked their content. But even as a complete non-fan the story made me smile. Good for them, i hope it leads to a genuine revival.
I remember being a kid on my computer that ran on Windows XP and had a giant 20 lb monitor watching their early sketch comedy, it was a huge formative part of my humor and relationship with TH-cam. I was so happy to hear the news, I look forward to seeing what they do with full creative control again.

This is awesome, but the folks who constantly complained and got upset at smosh and the cast since Anthony left should be giving a big apology to them. It's great news, but it's terrible how they brought down the others and channel and crapped on everything they did when they did fine stuff and didn't deserve the hate and comparison constantly - including Ian who was heading the Smosh ship, who did nothing wrong and honestly the other members of smosh are pretty good too, along with their content. I'm hoping they still get a good spotlight, too, because current smosh has some great folks and sketches
I really hope that the rest of the smosh cast can at least guest star. People kind of got turned off when it expanded to so many people but to be honest there's a lot of talent there and they all have good chemistry at this point.

@@Syd448 it makes me so angry - it was every comment section almost on instagram where someone had to say they were dying or the old vids were better, when they were trying to move on and do their thing despite constant comments like this. And I wasn't around when it was ian and anthony, and enjoy the new cast a lot and what they do, and saw the old content as old, wouldn't fly on today's youtube, and people blinded by nostalgia and hurting smosh when it deserved a chance and has amazing people who I would argue rival old smosh in a number of cases, I think people just dont give them a chance, at least those people sometimes. The audience and channel changed and I think that people should have moved on or gave it a try for what it was instead of what some did, anyways. Obviously talking about a slect number of commenters but imagine how smosh felt seeing them pretty often just trying to do their thing. Now some of those commenters get what they want and even if they didn't bully them into it, some of those did and don't deserve this (they don't, not saying the community doesn't)- because they treated the others like crap. Now they're gonna claim how great it is, maybe even in vids with Anthony and the new cast, as if the new cast were bad but good now that Anthony is here suddenly. I know it's niche but it's annoyed me a lot seeing the hate the past few years here and there in comment sections on insta.
I haven't seen Smosh since the earlier days and when I heard this news I was so happy for them. I remember Anthony leaving a few years ago to pursue solo content. Here's to hoping they bring back the episodes where Anthony and Ian play games together like that one Slenderman episode.
Smosh was one of the first youtubers I watched back in 2008 when I was 10. They're the reason I wanted to discover more on the platform. I'm so happy they're coming back!

A thing that should be mentioned, recognized, and appreciated, is how how Ian stuck with the Smosh throughout it's ups and many downs. In Anthony's "I Spent A Day With Ian Hecox" he mentioned how for years he became numb and stopped having emotions(paraphrasing). He needed to go to a therapist to deal with a lot of stuff emotionally and psychologically from everything going on with Smosh and his personal life. He stuck with the company and the people working there. So props to Ian, very much a commendable person.

I love that Rhett & Link were not only a huge step in bringing back the old Smosh but also how open Ian & Anthony are about their friendship, most people online would act like they were always friends with no issues but Ian & Anthony are very open about how they were driven apart but brought back through various sources
And they still have room to get closer, Right now they are not as close as they were back then BUT they are different people now and they are becoming new friends getting to know each other all over again. In some ways I think their friendship will prosper even more now. They were stunted by Smosh and couldn't become real friends as they got older but now they can.
Smosh got sooo screwed by Defy Media, which managed to burn through (grift? embezzle?) more than $70 million in venture capital before collapsing. Many of Defy’s creator brand acquisitions paid with “equity” in Defy (common stock not recoverable in a bankruptcy). Truly shady, lizard conduct. Rhett and Link are great. They saw a channel made by best friends and kept it on life support until anthony was ready to come back.
It's an interesting case cause Smosh was probably still profitable as a whole since Smosh Pit and Sosh Gaming are getting views on a very low budget. But, the main channel was not. So depending on the price they bought it for, it was an ok investment for Mythical regardless. Also they may still have a some stake in it.

Smosh was probably bought by the best people possible. Not only can Rhett & Link understand as content creators, but they're also best friends too. Im sure they've had their own experiences dealing with eachother and wanted to support Ian and Anthony get back together. It was really wholesome during their interview how Ian describes how Link was so excited for them.

Anthony has a channel where he interviews people and in his latest he interviews Ian. And it's really nice hearing how they reconnected and re-discovered their friendship after drifting apart and maturing. Both of them resigned to the idea that they might not be friends anymore, but they met up a year ago and were both surprised that they still had their passion and sense of humour in the same place.

They definitely had a falling out in the past where they lost their connection, but that doesn't mean the only way to get that connection back is through money.. they just realized that the things they thought they lost, their passion, chemistry, sense of humor, all that stuff was still there.

They just do so much behind the scenes, it’s incredible. It’s nothing they’d ever brag about. They genuinely put so much back into the community they came from. I don’t watch their content much anymore just because it’s not my style but I love Rhett and Link as people so much.
If I recall correctly, Jarvis Johnson is somehow under the mythical umbrella now too (or maybe just his podcast) and they were so humble about their life changing support to all these other creators when Jarvis interviewed Link talking about it.
ETA: I went back to check and it turns out Mythical has a creator accelerator fund that invested in Jarvis’ content as well as providing support to several up and coming channels.

I was 14 when I first discovered Smosh back in 06. Always loved their content when Ian and Anthony were the ones in the skits. I'm 31 now and through that period where they decided to sell the channel I feel like so much has changed and I'm looking forward to seeing how they will make their skits now while bringing back that sense of nostalgia.

I never watched them but that’s all that everyone would talk about when they mentioned TH-cam at school. I started watching Anthony’s content the past year and prefer his new style. I did go back to watch their older stuff to see everything I missed when they were popular. It’s nice that they came together again ❤

All I know of Smosh is that they were big. So famous for being famous. That's it. Never heard anything bad about them though and reuniting is always sweet to see.

The amazing thing about Rhett and Link is that they were supportive throughout the entire process and even encouraged them to purchase Smosh again. Rhett and Link are god sent. They’re such an amazing influence to me especially as they’ve been apart of my life since their first ever Will it? episode. I’m so glad there’s people like them in this world that bring up others in such ways that they do and to other people.

I am happy that for the most part people have stopped blaming the current Smosh cast and Anthony leaving as the reason why Smosh struggled for a while. It was Defy’s lack of empathy or understanding of what the original creators wanted for their company and overworking them to the point of a lot of what they released had no passion from who created. And this included the last years that Anthony was still with Defy era Smosh. Bottom line, as someone who wasn’t able to grow up with these legends as a kid, I’m grateful for being able to experiencing them as an adult. Here’s to many more years of Smosh to come💙

I watched them back when I was a kid / teenager, used to love their sketches a lot back then. I'm 27 now and haven't really been following either of them for the past few years, but I am very happy to see this huge part of my childhood finally being mended. Best wishes to both of them 🥰

The legacy they hold and the power they held at the time of their peak; I mean, I'd argue they had a part in building not only youtube, but the internet. I’m so happy for them. They were taken advantage of by defy, however, defy gave us the extra talent of shayne, Courtney, Damien, Noah, Keith, etc. Anthony left and then defy went under. So much love and respect for mythical for both buying them and then selling back to Ian and Anthony. It’s come full circle. They’ll be producing the same content we’ve loved on Smosh games and Smosh pit for years and we also get new sketches on the main channel from Ian and Anthony. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Seems like we’re really getting the best of both worlds.

Ian actually talked about the conversation with Rhett and Link in an interview with Anthony on his channel. He said that they were just as excited as he and Anthony were, and that the business was secondary to them to the excitement of getting Smosh back in the founders hands
I'm interested to see their new content. Smosh's humor was a product of its time but Ian and Anthony have grown since then so I'm curious to see what they have cooking.
I think the extra cast members are greta, but their humor is just too different from my own. I couldn't get into it like I thought I could. Esp their latest Smosh pit with Anthony. The woman was trying to make them laugh with the water spitting laugh challenge. She could only come up with s*x jokes, like Amy schumer- and race jokes, to bait them into laughing. It was funny the first time, but after that it was just cringe. She tried three times. Just an example of how their humor is not my own. The only times I found myself truly laughing, was when Anthony and Ian were trying to make others laugh. My bf is also a huge fan of Smosh. He couldn't watch the episode of Smosh pit because it was.... Interesting

I’m super excited to see what Ian and Anthony do with Smosh going forward! Smosh was one of the first channels I watched on TH-cam. Just seeing the thumbnail for their announcement video with Ian and Anthony next to each other gave me a blast of nostalgia. I just turned 29 a few days ago and I still remember my best friend and I laughing our asses off watching their videos after school when we were teens like it was yesterday.
As someone that grew up and lived that early era of TH-cam, I too find it interesting how so many channels were just too early for their time and I'm so hyped to see Smosh return the way it did. But I definitely don't go back to look at them for what they could've been but more or less sit back and enjoy the nostalgia of what it was like to watch everyone else do the exact same thing I was doing at that time and we had no clue what we were doing the whole time. It was beautiful, it was free, and it was a magical time that we'll never experience again, but goddammit Smosh is back and I can't help but to feel change in the winds with this, a time of TH-cam renaissance is upon us. Some of that magic has returned today, and today as a 28 year old man, I revel in what it felt like to be a kid with no worries again. As someone who grew up with Smosh and watched a lot of their videos, Anthony coming back is truly awesome. I was very shocked and upset when he left, but knew he would come back someday.
This news is such a joy when I first heard about it. But like many comments in this video, Rhett and Link are the blessings that saved Smosh.

Watched smosh with Anthony as a very little kid, and I’ve continued to watch smosh on and off still ever since, I love everything they’ve become and having Anthony back is incredible, SMOSH HAS SO MUCH LIFE
Without any clear or obvious idea on whether Anthony and Ian are still friends or at least talking to each other you would assume they both drifted away towards different places and even Ian thinks so too as he mentioned in the latest video of Anthony.
This whole thing is just wholesome and great to hear especially seeing how Anthony and Ian confronted each other in a conversation like two old friends who never saw each other for a long time reconciling, reminiscing the past and looking forward into the future with Anthony's new video with Ian.
Absolutely Heartwarming.

That's a lot of emotion for a TH-camr, minor parasocial relationship?? Idk, I couldn't get that emotional over any celebrity or politician. Respect. I was super excited. I just could never have cried. I did tear up a little when Anthony was speaking from his heart to Ian. But ugly cry? Sorry that's reserved for things like my pets, my relationships, heartbreaks, deaths, weddings close to me.

my jaw was on the floor when i saw the video on Anthony Padilla's channel and ive been gobbling up everything since. the smiles on everyones faces and the genuine joy has been infectious 😊

I have always known smosh since the early days, and never liked their content. But even as a complete non-fan the story made me smile. Good for them, i hope it leads to a genuine revival.
The fact I grew up watching Ian and Anthony religiously on TH-cam and now seeing them buy it is actually giving me goosebumps

I remember being a kid on my computer that ran on Windows XP and had a giant 20 lb monitor watching their early sketch comedy, it was a huge formative part of my humor and relationship with TH-cam. I was so happy to hear the news, I look forward to seeing what they do with full creative control again.

This is awesome, but the folks who constantly complained and got upset at smosh and the cast since Anthony left should be giving a big apology to them. It's great news, but it's terrible how they brought down the others and channel and crapped on everything they did when they did fine stuff and didn't deserve the hate and comparison constantly - including Ian who was heading the Smosh ship, who did nothing wrong and honestly the other members of smosh are pretty good too, along with their content. I'm hoping they still get a good spotlight, too, because current smosh has some great folks and sketches
I really hope that the rest of the smosh cast can at least guest star. People kind of got turned off when it expanded to so many people but to be honest there's a lot of talent there and they all have good chemistry at this point.
Exactly this, I can’t stand all the hate that the cast gets bc I enjoy their content. I’m happy that smosh games and smosh pit will stay the same with the smosh cast.
@@Syd448 it makes me so angry - it was every comment section almost on instagram where someone had to say they were dying or the old vids were better, when they were trying to move on and do their thing despite constant comments like this. And I wasn't around when it was ian and anthony, and enjoy the new cast a lot and what they do, and saw the old content as old, wouldn't fly on today's youtube, and people blinded by nostalgia and hurting smosh when it deserved a chance and has amazing people who I would argue rival old smosh in a number of cases, I think people just dont give them a chance, at least those people sometimes. The audience and channel changed and I think that people should have moved on or gave it a try for what it was instead of what some did, anyways. Obviously talking about a slect number of commenters but imagine how smosh felt seeing them pretty often just trying to do their thing. Now some of those commenters get what they want and even if they didn't bully them into it, some of those did and don't deserve this (they don't, not saying the community doesn't)- because they treated the others like crap. Now they're gonna claim how great it is, maybe even in vids with Anthony and the new cast, as if the new cast were bad but good now that Anthony is here suddenly. I know it's niche but it's annoyed me a lot seeing the hate the past few years here and there in comment sections on insta.
I haven't seen Smosh since the earlier days and when I heard this news I was so happy for them. I remember Anthony leaving a few years ago to pursue solo content. Here's to hoping they bring back the episodes where Anthony and Ian play games together like that one Slenderman episode.
Smosh was one of the first youtubers I watched back in 2008 when I was 10. They're the reason I wanted to discover more on the platform. I'm so happy they're coming back!

We also have to give credit to the smosh cast that had to survive years and years of being compared to the old smosh,, they are also really funny and they deserve the best!

I stopped watching smosh several years ago, tried watching their "Try not to laugh" videos and tbh I felt they were waaay exaggerated, I felt they were targeting the videos to kids mostly

@@CryosisOfficial’m pretty sure Anthony leaving is the reason people stopped watching Smosh. Because the "new smosh" crew have kept the channels alive, and have made the fanbase even bigger. They deserve tons of respect for sticking with the channel for 8 years, while being bombarded by nostalgia blinded zoomers.
