Yeah....there's alot of times where I'm wondering how this demon's powers actually work. It's stopped by doors and has to use quadripedal locomotion to move around. Why can't it teleport? It's weird, man.
Usually the explanation, at least demon wise, is that they have to inhabit a body and they like to toy and play around and cause mischief a lot more than outright accomplish their ultimate goal. They're pompous, cocky, arrogant and think it's impossible to be beaten, which of course always ends up with them losing because they have to and whatever. But of course the majority of horror movies do this very poorly. Much as I love the Conjuring films themselves, the evil in all three falls into these same issues. It spends so much time dicking around and being scary, that it eventually loses outright because it only bothers to "try" and even that is too generous (the fucking nun in 2 literally could have just flung Ed out the damn window and onto the tree if it really wanted to) when it's about to lose. And yeah, we've seen this done to death. We need villains, especially in horror movies, that don't dick around.

I thought The Nun had a great premise but suffered from poor story flow. The ideas for good horror cinematography were there, but in my opinion their execution fell flat many times. I am still waiting on a dark period piece about the Warren's Samurai armor in their collection, maybe one that could employ Japanese folklore mixed in with how it's owner from Edo period Japan slowly descended into madness due to a curse on that armor, before slaughtering the castle residents. They gave a great hint into a similar backstory in the Annabelle series when the armor exhuded what sounded like terrified screaming amid a massacre of sorts as it roamed the Warren's house during an event.

Frenchie already dies in the future so they basically fuck with any sense of caring we could have for the characters unless it's set all the way after everything else cause they already showed they're gonna just retcon the end to fit into the timeline.

The Nun isnt a horror movie. The Conjuring movies are also not typical horror movie. These movie fall under a sub genre of supernatural detective horror.
I kinda find it smart that they introduce the Nun's weakness at the very begining and giving it a religious perspective to those who know what the wine symbolize.
The Nun: “we need to kill it with Jesus’s blood!!! which we’ve been preserving for years!” The Nun 2: “we need to kill it with Saint Lucy’s gouged out eyes!! but also Jesus’s blood again!”
I started watching classic horror movies made in the 2000s. When I moved onto 2010s everything was about possession and haunting with always an exorcist scene in the end. The characters are usually a couple with one being sceptical and the other one believing in supernatural. The characters react exactly the same like video game NPCs. It's so predictable and boring. I can only name a few good ones like Don't Breath.
I remember watching the first one excited for a spooky, goofy fun time. Got bored after what felt like 15 minutes. Turns out I was 40+ minutes into the movie, but so little had happened I could've sworn it had just started. Never did finish it.
The problem with horror films is the protagonists either always win or always survive. Not enough of them where the antagonists win & become the sole surviving character.
So with the demon being able to teleport and suddenly just slow walking towards someone, I think you could see it as an intentional intimidation tactic if given context and done well.

The Nun isnt a horror movie. The Conjuring movies are also not typical horror movie. These movie fall under a sub genre of supernatural detective horror.
For good staff you have to pay, That's why we have The Nun I&II
I think the reason Valak didn't kill everyone else is because the didn't see Maurice being possessed...
I kinda find it smart that they introduce the Nun's weakness at the very begining and giving it a religious perspective to those who know what the wine symbolize.
You forgot the part where the literal 10 year old gets stabbed through the whole ass chest by the goat then proceeds to run away
The Nun: “we need to kill it with Jesus’s blood!!! which we’ve been preserving for years!”
The Nun 2: “we need to kill it with Saint Lucy’s gouged out eyes!! but also Jesus’s blood again!”
My dad likes the Nun and he also believes that the moon landing was fake
nun 3 is teased in the post credit scene
They never should have given a movie studio a right to their likeness or stories.
That’s crazy the only good scare that he talked about was in a trailer😭
The demon just wants to mess with the kids 😂
Silly demon
@@dragonousbrokenus69420 silly goose demon
New headcannon is that the whole movie is just itachi fucking with people
it’s like they give the demon morals
I remember watching the first one excited for a spooky, goofy fun time. Got bored after what felt like 15 minutes. Turns out I was 40+ minutes into the movie, but so little had happened I could've sworn it had just started.
Never did finish it.
It's like Kojima made Starfield in a horror movie
The problem with horror films is the protagonists either always win or always survive. Not enough of them where the antagonists win & become the sole surviving character.
So with the demon being able to teleport and suddenly just slow walking towards someone, I think you could see it as an intentional intimidation tactic if given context and done well.
Maybe Valak ran out of mana doing all the jumpscares, the fire ability sounds expensive.
Charlie really wanted those kids to die 6:37
almost fell asleep in the theatre, also someone farted at the end of the movie when they started praying
Answer to title: It made a fuck ton of money. Film is a business.
Plot twist: The nun is a Sith lord.
Me during the entire video: OMG he is wearing the same glasses I'm wearing 😮
My cousin un-ironically tells me about this movie at least once a week
