Hi, can I ask you, how did you jack up car ? middle jack point (rubber brick) you couldn`t use due to canal. So how did you placed jack stand on one side :-). I`m asking, because I have similar garage
I have enough space for the Jack's on the sides, the canal it's not as wide as the car so I have atleast 25 cm on each side for the Jack's to be places under the car, and if you use a low profile hidraulic jack you could also place it at an angle and you'll fit it perfectly under any car. Hope it's helps 🙏
Hello, and thank you for the great video. Can i ask, is it possible to do this job with the car in a normal garage, or do i need the canal/well to have enough space to get under the car?
You can do it even în the parking lot. You just need a good jack and something to support the weight of the vehicle and that's it. Just follow my steps and you will be able to do it very easy. Good luck 🙏💪
Can i ask another newbie question? How to jack the car up, and then place jackstands? The car have only one jack point on each side, and when i’ve jacked it up, there is no space for the jackstand, as the jack is taking up the point :p
Good question. I always lift it from the nearest point to the jack point. And the. I have enough space to pus my jack right on the jack point made for this. In some cases you can bend some metal parts from underneath the car or you could brake the plastics from underneath due to heavy weight of the car. That's the risk of doing it yourself. Just be careful.
Thanx! Yes, last time i jacked it up on stands i put the jack as close to the jack point as i could. It did some damage to the dust cover and the metal seam underneath. I just hope this wont induce rust problems or hurt the canals.
Yes it's the tire rod. My recommendation it's to replace the inner and outer tie rod just to be safe and just to make a verry good job on your car. Good luck mate 🙏
Hey great vid. I just purchased some new tie rods off amazon from some no name company and they don't come with those little round metal discs that sit between the ball joint and the wheel hub. My oem ones had this and I was wondering do I need to put this ring on the new ones I ordered or do I just put the new tie rods on without that thing? I am not sure whta the ring does.
You could put the old ones from the old tie rods just to be sure, some manufacturers don't put the entire kit with all the necessary parts and because of that you have to reuse some of the old parts wich you removed from the car.
Thank you for an excellent video! Well done!
Thank you too!🙏
Important point to remember: The torque spec for the nut on the ball-joint end of the outer tie rod is 50nm + 90 degrees after.
Thank you for feedback 🙏
Very good video and your explanation are perfect. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!✌️

@@HOWTODO0828 oh ok I was not sure what these rings did so I left them off. Do you know what they do?
Have you done the cross strut (forward control arm) I can’t get it back in the steering knuckle.
Yes I did.
@@HOWTODO0828 video?
How much did the parts cost you? I hit a curb last night and snapped from passenger side inner rod. Hoping I can fix it
The parts are not so expensive, around 50 buck on both sides, you cand fix it very easy if you are able to do it yourself. Follow me and good luck
Great job
Thank you 🙏
Why there is no difference how it sounds before and after, is it not the steeringrack which is worn!?
I yes. The steering rack it's also worn. In the video I couldn't show the improvement but there it's a improvement with the new tie rods.
There is still „play“ after
7:19 You can see the wear demonstrated here.
The worn tie-rod is extremely loose whilst the new one is tight.
Yes sir. Thank you for supporting me and my channell 🙏
