Great movie, great plot twist.
It is very difficult to understand this movie if you don't have any knowledge of Chinese history of Song dynasty.
I had zero knowledge but not only I understood but I enjoyed it…

When the conversation is important how come the two deaf ladies look at the speaker? It's decent I enjoy it. I got tired of the twist tho

Wuxia genre is supposed to have special skills. If you mean regular genre with flying and kicking, and poor story, that's Indian movies.

Though the twist was okay. It's very easy to realize why the prime minister wanted the letter.
Also, the poem featured in the movie is your typical CCP propaganda of "taking back" their imagined lands. Subtly alluding to Taiwan, which has been a sovereign country for a hundred years!

Dont you just love it when the Song dynasty had a poem passed down for generations predicting the CCP and somehow related to TAIWAN (hint: taiwan was annexed in 1683 in a completely later dynasty!)
Dude seriously please learn about Chinese history before randomly commenting. This movie was based off mainly true events of the Song dynasty and Taiwan wasn't even a thing back then. Your just spreading false news to attack the CCP and more importantly Chinese history.
@@brandof123 Exactly, this isn't remotely related to Taiwan. And it's honestly an amazing movie overall. I'd recommend it to anyone who's a fan of whodunnits with black comedy and drama thrown in.
