“Just to clarify: My comments from a radio interview yesterday should be taken as speculation about possible realignment options and nothing more.” - Tweet from Ross Dellenger at 8:48am Thursday
People got all up in arms and made me rant for nothing.............. lol
@@DoubleFriesNoSlaw I was ranting too
If staying in the ACC or going to the Big XII was even a remote possibility then Mike Norvell would be coaching at Alabama right now. Mike stayed because he has assurances of where we land.
Disagree ... he clearly said FSU is where he wanted to be because he loves it here. His decision to stay had nothing to do with the conference.
Mike was never going to the SEC. No one was ever interested in Novel in that conference until now! He wasn't a proven proven power 5 coach until his rebuild of FSU!
@@jordim6271 FSU had just been denied a chance in the playoffs. He might love FSU but he is clearly a top 10 coach. If he didn't think FSU had a path to something better than the dying ACC then he would have left simply out of self preservation.
@@torrencesmith1725 Wrong. Alabama's AD said they locked down Deboar after Norvell turned them down. This came directly from Bama's athletic director.
Great point.
Thanks for this clarification. Let them all drive up the cost for FSU and Clemson. Get us out! I believe and trust this FSU management team. Business lover which is what athletic programs are all about.
Nobody knows because nobody knows yet
Big 12 would be a lateral move for us. No damn way are we going to that conference, come on now!
I thought they couldn't talk to FSU or Clemson because of the lawsuits. Anyway I don't think FSU going to the Big12.
They can't have first party talks
They damn sure are not going to the Big 10.
@@michaelhart6318lol ok
ACC but with the new scheduling we only play North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech every 5 years, right? SO my wish is to do a private equity and go independent and join NBC.
Question for everyone....SEC Media Days are July 15-18 and the B1G Media Days are July 23-25. I've heard talk about the possibility of something happening at the Media Days this year like it happened last year with Texas and Oklahoma. Now the ACC Media Days are July 22-25 (which happen to overlap with the B1G Media days). For those who think the SEC is where FSU ends up, that would mean an announcement is coming next week. BUT, is there something with the overlap of ACC and B1G media days? I mean because they are meeting at the same time, could this mean something???? Just curious and thought I would ask.
I have heard the same, but I don't think the B1G having the same media days at the ACC means anything.
You are right. I read the caption and I came straight to DFNS to get the real side of the story. Thanks TJ.
Appreciate you!
@@DoubleFriesNoSlaw thanks man. I hope to see that battles end quarter zip later on this week lolol
My position on stories about conference realignment. - Everybody who is talking doesn't know anything. Everyone who knows something isn't talking. I follow all the rumors and speculation far more closely than most folks. But, I do it for entertainment purposes only. I don't care if it is Josh Pate or Dellenger or Swaim or anybody else. It is all for my entertainment, nothing more. Until Alford or Collins says something, everything is just speculation.
So true
People said the same thing about pac 12 last year.
100% entertainment
Option 2 would be FSU and Clemson staying in the ACC that is restructured (reduced to 10 teams.) What would you think about FSU staying in a 10 team ACC? What 10 teams would remain? You should make a video on what teams you would want to see remain in the ACC with FSU. I'm a Pitt fan. I understand FSU wanting out, but I would love for them to stay.
this is the most likely option beginning 2027 when espn can completely redo their media contract
Leaders will always create perception management in order to have strategic advantage in negotiations. What a commissioner, athletic director, or coach says to the press is strictly a narrative for advantage during negotiation. Regardless of the interviews with other members of the press, the only people who know what is going on are the people negotiating the deals in the room. Even the press has a narrative that they are trying to protect until it is proven wrong. The point is...we all get to wait and see what happens even with all of the talk that is circulating around negotiations.
Thank You. Gut punch hearing FSU considering Big 12.
If FSU would've been undefeated in the Big 12, they would've made the playoffs
Great info TJ!! Did you happen to see Sports Talk with Jay (Vols fan) go over FSU leaving for SEC vs Big 10? Made a lot of sense.
So why do zero of the administrators and leaders that have been consulted in the Big10 and SEC want Clemson and FSU? The negative statements like "toxic" and "disruptive partner" are very bad signs. The ACC exit fee will be $130-300M and then add $20M or more in legal fees. There are many scenarios where FSU and Clemson will end up losing money for the next 10 years.
Total click-baiting on all those CFB TH-cam and podcast channels. Not on John’s or Ross’ part. Thanks TJ for make sense of these stupid rumors. That’s why you’re my 1st choice for Noles news!
I appreciate you!
Don't know where we the Noles are going. Above my pay grade. Do know that they are indeed going. FSU brings a big and loyal tribe, a competent program , a top ten coach , and a top ten team . To an old Nole Big 10 sounds better than the condescending SEC. FSU stock is Blue Chip and going up . The tribe culture conscripted into FSU, a football school. We may get a demonstration in Ireland. Hopefully the Seminoles will have a different last game .
GO NOLES #MIKEGOTUS 🍢💯
If we go to the sec, it won’t be with just Clemson imo
I can see that happening. Florida State and Clemson would be top dogs in the Big 12 for a long time. Then again, they're top dogs in the ACC.
A statistician would state the chance of florida state remaining in the ACC as....a result indistinguishable from zero lol. In other words a result that technically isnt zero but its so infantessimally small that with out a microscope it looks like zero lmao
Maybe FSU, Clemson and Notre Dame should start their own conference just a thought.
I do believe there is a path FSU remains in the ACC. It would be a last ditch effort, to prevent to disenigration of the ACC. It would consist of unequal revenue sharing with some universities and a greater margin that offered by others, aswell as a written path to exit when necessary.
I'm a Penn State fan, but I think Florida State has to thoroughly think this through, but it sounds like emotions are making the call versus logical thinking.
Look at who you're talkin about. All they are is emotional. Just look at their fan base, they're still War Cryin about being left out of the Playoffs.
What if FSU & Clemson join the Big 10 with Miami & Georgia Tech? 🤔🤔
I can see Miami and FSU being a package deal in the big 10. Big 10 love the historical rivalry games and that one has a lot of history
@delanesimmons5933 think you're right about 3 of the teams. Think FSU was close to AAU status last go around. Think Clemson is the odd team out. Believe the 4th team is Kansas or possibly Texas A&M
Miami & Georgia Tech are members of the AAU, so they're at least eligible for Big 10 consideration. FSU & Clemson are not eligible for the Big 10.
@@michaelhart6318
FSU was that close to getting AAU status a year ago when Notre Dame got it. The B1G had an open invitation to ND for years before they
got AAU status. If FSU continues to build up its research and academic sides, its only a matter of time till they get it. The B1G would
likely cut them some slack and give them a few years from being accepted to get that AAU status.
agree just look at how they let Michigan State in BEFORE they were AAU qualified
Staying in a conference (ACC) that tried to cheat us all year and that wouldn’t stand up for us to go to the final 4, and that definitely doesn’t like us now bc we’re trying to leave would be a mistake. My first choice would be going independent or to the Big12.
FSU is not staying in the ACC, just like you said. It sounds like the SEC is resisting pressure from ESPN for inviting FSU and Clemson. Good for the SEC. That means that FSU is going to the Big 12.
You had your voice, so now hear mine. FSU & Clemson are big brands, FSU May have their pick & could hold out. They didn't go to all this work to stay in a mirror of the PAC 12 in leadership, poor choices, & failure to see the future. The Big 12 might not be their preference, but remaining in the ACC is just what FSU said death by many cuts.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the ACC 😂
Anything is possible INCLUDING Fsu to the big 12!
Big 12 and ACC will be collapsing next. They cannot sustain the monies capable of competing with big 10 & sec. There will only be 2 main conferences left.
FYI, if clemson, fsu and miami go to big 12...there is no more P2...its officially P3
Objectively, look at FSU's conference schedule this year game by game. Then imagine a comparable opponent in that slot from the Big 12. In every case but Miami, the Big 12 can provide a better match up than the current schedule. And FSU can play Miami non conference and make a deal to keep the TV money from their non conference games. That is if Miami doesn't wind up on the Big 12 too.
The bottom line is that ACC didn't just blow the TV deal. They dealt with you in bad faith the whole time. You can either keep your dignity or your ACC membership.
I don’t see any chance of us staying in the ACC. Even though I think it’s better than joining the XII. But all the lawsuits are pretty much divorce papers. Hoping to get to the SEC and my 2nd choice would be B1G.
To pull the rock when it comes to these two gentlemen who hate Florida State off is the direction they can fuck
Sorry but someone wake me up when we finally switch conferences… soooooo many videos out there speculating
TJ, just curious what is the deal with this multi-media deal with Legends? What does that mean for FSU?
They used to have one with Learfield. That's basically the company that handles all of the sponsorships and partnerships. (Legends will also do more than that.)
@@DoubleFriesNoSlaw I got ya. I had read something about them this morning and I had no idea what they did lol. I figured you were the guy to ask.
I can see FSU going independent. They have what it takes. But what about Clemson? Could they go independent? It just doesn't seem likely that they could survive independence.
buddy notre dame is barely surviving and you think fsu or Clemson will be fine stop it
Going independent will not work. Watch how ND is losing more opportunity playing their long standing independent.
FSU trustee board meeting on July 22. Big 10 media days start July 23. Coincidence?
Yes. The sole purpose of the BOT meeting is to review and approve the university budget to submit to the legislature. They do it every year obviously.
@@505premoto They called the meeting a few days ago. Surely, they can't be oblivious to the optics of calling a meeting the day before Big 10 media days. Until the meeting agenda comes out, it's tough to believe their sole purpose is budgetary.
@@adam6072 Well, you can still get your hopes up and follow every second of it as it will be televised. There are multiple reports that both the SEC and B1G have cooled any expansion talks and will not talk officially or unofficially with anyone until the impact of the House settlement is finished and everyone knows how it will affect them and the price tag. Those talks are not expected to finish up until January.
No one needs to give Clemson anything extra they need to prove that they can stay that caliber of a team so far they're not living up to what they have accomplished in the recent past but as a mountaineer fan I remember being in a conference with Clemson and they were never good the last time we played them in a bowl game it was 70 to 33 completely embarrassed Clemson. Clemson needs to prove just like Gonzaga needs to prove once their coach leaves are they still good?? I would say neither one will be good after a new coach comes in.
I realize this sounds extremely self-serving but, I live less than two hours from the campuses of Michigan State, the University of Michigan and Notre Dame so the move to the Big 12 would be fine for me! FSU Class of 1975.
No we don't all hate the ACC. Thats your thought.
The teams in the Big 10 or SEC aren't going to take a pay cut to add FSU or Clemson. Neither is the Big 12
Man this had me sketched out lol. I had to come get the real answer from DFNS !!!!! Keep up the good work TJ. Ur the man
The reason why FSU was not included in the playoff was because FSU was not in the SEC or B1G. Being in the Big 12 is no different than being in the ACC, AAC or Whatever conference that is not in the two major conferences.
doesn't really matter in a 12 team every conference is guaranteed a team
FSU wants to play in the snow.
Would you quit your job that pays the bills before you had a new job beforehand? Probably not.
It’s highly unlikely FSU is just floundering around blowing up the phone of the Big 10 and Sec to get membership.
I doubt FSU filed suit vs the Acc without knowing if they would have new membership in a new conference.
I could see independent before Big12.
Yes they are suing the ACC to stay there, lol
Big 10! FSU is not going through all this and spending all this money to get out of the ACC just to go make the same $$$. The B10 wants in the Florida market and FSU Is the best team in Florida. FSU is on the verge of being AAU certified.
It makes no sense to spend millions to get out of the ACC to go to the Big 12 and make less because they can't match the B1G or SEC. If this were to happen that FSU lands in the Big 12 it would go down as the biggest blunder on the part of FSU. it would be a point of subject for Business courses at other institutions on what the pinnacle of a bad financial decision looks like
We’d look dumber than Texas A&M hiring Jimbo. 😖
@@jenn_gulf_coast4644hiring jimbo wasn't a bad concept. The contract was bad
yo yo
The ACC is the PAC part 2.
they stay in the acc
I want them in the SEC , but I can’t see saying you want a divorce and then saying you know what I don’t like you but I’m staying here 😒
I hope its not true...Big 12. We will be moving from 1 crap conference to another...Go Noles!!...also piss on Miami, Florida & the committee
We can’t say going to wake forest we know we gone win, when we lost like 3 out of 4 years against them.
lol thats when we weren't good wake forest was never on our level when we been legit stop it
FSU (snubbed by the CFP Committee) belongs in the conference of loser, left-behinds. They would be a perfect match. The SEC and the Big Ten do not want any of them. The Big 12 can then change its name to the Big Allstate/Midol/Summer's Eve/Popeye chicken 12.
Independent over acc or big 12
If FSU would've been undefeated in the Big 12, they would've made the playoffs
All the money is in the big 10 and sec
I called my ticket rep and told them cancel my tickets if this is true. Apparently a lot of people called as well! He said no chance Big 12. He did say we have a better chance of going independent for a few years while lawsuits finish.
Casual fan take
Forde is clueless and has been the whole time
You didn't watch the video just based on what you said. did you not here him say that all the teams that leave the ACC can form there own conference of maybe 10 or so could be an option in all this hypothetical talk? And yes all your videos are clickbait.
All of this is based on leverage. Even as a Kansas State fan, as much as I would love having FSU and Clemson, it’s been nothing more than third party talks. Something schools have got to utilize in order to respond more quickly.
Massive overreaction from both the Big 12 and Florida State fanbases on social media.
id rather stay in the ACC
I still think its Big Ten
Me 2
The Big 10 will never admit a non-AAU accredited university. FSU and Clemson are not candidates for the Big 10 and they never were.
Hope it happens. Can’t stand ESPN
The Big 10 or SEC teams aren't going to take a pay cut to add FSU or Clemson. Maybe in 2030 when their tv contract is up.
They arent AAU...you have to understand that
LOL Hate to tell you I told you so....Way back when you started all this hype about leaving the ACC... I told you that you would end up in the Big XII. Hope you enjoy travelling to Kansas, Iowa and I bet Waco Texas will be rocking! Hilarious.
Imagine being in the Big XII making ACC type $ but owing the ACC $400 million. LOL It will be years before FSU breaks even from this debacle.
BTW other option is independence?
The entire BIG 12 talk is just ludicrous. It’s most likely being pushed by that conference’s supporters, that’s it. It’s ridiculous BS.
To be fair, the big 12 will be much better than the acc after realignment, and im sure they will be making more money. That being said, we are not going to the big 12.
What would happen if FSU, Clemson, Miami, North Carolina would join The Big 12?
Seems like a very costly way to be in basically the same spot they're in now.
F that. What a waste. Just another crap conference. They suck if they take that deal. It’s unacceptable.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey told Paul Finebaum the criteria for future admission to the SEC involves flagship universities within contiguous states, and well-attended AAU accredited institutions. Both Virginia and North Carolina meet that criteria, FSU & Clemson do not.
FSU is not going to go independent. Be real. Alford already said its not happening. And what are doing with other sports? Its nonsense.
Sounds like big 10 is scary and doesn't want to play fsu ,um or Clemson that conference is overrated
I’m going to be pissed if the SEC or BIG act like they’re too good for FSU and Clemson. I’d prefer both being in SEC, but BIG would be a nice destination for both programs, I believe. I’m not sure about FSU, but Clemson academics are stellar. FSU can’t be bad. I’m a huge Clemson fan, and obviously respect FSU for who/what they are.
Anything other than the SEC is a loss for FSU. FSU is not a extreme cold weather team in the Big 10 which in my opinion is ridiculous to join the Big 10. Big 12 is a straight loser. FSU has a SEC style fan base. We are geographically in SEC country. FSU belongs in the SEC. If FSU stays in the the ACC go ahead and put a tombstone on our football program because within 10 years it’s dead. Pray for SEC move
Why would the big 12 want another team with the “I’m too good for your conference” program. FSU and Clemson has no problem blowing up the ACC without any regard. The big 12 doesn’t need that kind of powder keg. Thanks but no thanks.
If FSU went to the Big 12, everyone in the SEC and the B1G would laugh, and the fans would have to hide all evidence that they are FSU fans and would have to stay off the internet, forever. The 63-3 score would seem like a minor faux pas compared to FSU leaving the ACC and making the conscious decision to go to the Big 12.
The truth is, the ACC will not blow up. To many teams with no place to go, plus there’s not a Allstate 12 team that would not leave to join the ACC. Truth😂
If SFU goes to the Big 12 it's not the end of the world. Less money 💰 but there will still be football 🏈, so relax.🎉
Welcome to the B12
Big 12 pretty much every year for the last couple years has had a team in the playoffs. If FSU was in the Big 12 and was undefeated they would definitely be in the playoffs unfortunately they are in the ACC which is not a football conference and everyone knows it. I really doubt with how type money is getting ESPN renews the ACC contract. But I think it would be wise for FSU to join the Big 12 if they can't get in the Big Ten or sec getting put in the number three conference a true football conference that's tough every week with guarantee them a spot in the playoffs if they can win out or just lose one game a year. But acting like FSU is going to go into the SEC and be a top five football team is just ridiculous maybe once in awhile.
Clueless
Too much talking about this man stay in your lane
Talking about FSU is my lane, Jay 😂
Are you guys not tired of talking about this bs? You guys are beating a dead horse at this point. If we leave or stay who cares…. It’ll happen on their time anyways.
1) Realignment is the biggest story in our sport right now. 2) It's also the offseason. 3) When people stop watching it, we'll stop making videos about it.
FSU to Big 12? Good God No! They are as big of assholes as Texas. Clemson, Miami, Louisville, VTech, Duke & NCST! We'd love to have them all! Come and double your money with us in the Big 12!
FSU + B12 doesn't work. FSU + Clemson + the right 4 additional ACC teams to a division of the B12 works. It creates a third major conference on par with the SEC and the B10 and the division with FSU and Clemson can have a much better media deal than the rest of the B12.
I hope FSU gets in a P2 Conference, and never win a conference title, or a Natty. Sell thier soul for millions more than they are making now, and to not win a natty. It will serve them right! 👆 👆 🌵 🌵 🌵!!!!
Lol but it was ok for everyone else right? 🤡
To want to stay competitive with rivals in football is selling their soul??? WTH?
Florida State and Clemson, Wouldn't get a full share anyway if they do go to the Big 10 or SEC.
Not correct.
If FSU goes to the Big 12 it will be a laughingstock of college football, I will never send another dime.
Big 12 is better than the ACC top to bottom
Love the channel but the word "bait" literally means to entice lol. Go ahead and own it bro bc we're clicking either way 🍢🍢
Why would the big 12 want another team with the “I’m too good for your conference” program. FSU and Clemson has no problem blowing up the ACC without any regard. The big 12 doesn’t need that kind of powder keg. Thanks but no thanks.
The Big 12 would be a step back for FSU. They might as well stay in the ACC.
@@adam6072 regardless we shouldn’t even consider it
@@dnuts4104 I don't think we pay Norvell power two money just to go to a lesser ACC.
@@adam6072 what does that have to do with my point of not wanting FSU or Clemson? Those two teams are toxic for a conference. They think roses come out of their asses when everyone knows it’s shit like every other person.
@@dnuts4104 My point is FSU and Clemson fans don't want the Big 12 just as much as Big 12 fans don't want them. No one would be happy if FSU and Clemson joined the Big 12. So it seems unlikely the marriage would actually happen.
