      I always saw the World is yours statue after Tony's death here more as an ironic message that makes the audience realize how Tony's thought, that the world was his, was just an illusion. In fact the moment he became greedy and tried to screw the wrong people, he was easily disposed of, just like everyone else. Tony was thinking of himself as invincible, but in the end he was just a pawn in other people's game and ended up paying with his own life for his arrogance. It also makes you think that in the end Lopez was right, people who want everything like Tony, are not meant to last in their business, no matter how tough they are. In fact Tony's empire as miami's drug lord lasted barely 3 years (1980-1983).

    James Cameron can deny all he wants, but the assassin that delivered the fatal blow to Montana definitely inspired the style and atmosphere of the T-800. The cold emotionless demeanor, the fact that he doesn't toy around with his targets and just goes straight for the kill, his lack of any or all speech and small talk, his sunglasses covering his eyes at all times even at night. Hell, his preferred weapon of choice is a shotgun. This movie also came out one whole year before the first Terminator. Cameron definitely took notes from Scarface on how to make a terrifying and effective assassin.

      In the directors cut, he doesn’t die. After he falls from the pool,
      The men gather like you said. Then tony wakes up and emerges with a grenade and tosses it at the remaining thugs. He then gets out the pool and looks at the 💀. 💀 is scared and can’t keep his composure. His shotgun misfires and he struggles to reload. Tony, stalking up the steps with his eyes all red and with razor sharp teeth, he lunges at the 💀 getting the gun out his hands. Puts him in an armlock, says to him, “this is from me mother facker!”, then he tosses him over the railing to his death. After that, Tony goes back downstairs and looks up his globe and says to himself, the world is finally mine.

      @buggo9357 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not necessarily. The camera pans up slowly and records mostly the staircase as he's walking down the steps. There's plenty of time for the actor to bring his head above water to breathe before he's back in frame.

    I always thought the security monitors being knocked out of commission at 2:14 was a great and eerie parallel to Tony being absolutely out of his mind at this point.

    I always wondered why The Skull waited so long to shoot Tony. Could it be he was thinking “This guy really is the best!”

    • @prolificpoultry4899
      @prolificpoultry4899 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If Tony went back to get more grenades or more ammo then he would have been toast. Two shots then a reload is shitty compared to a fudging machine gun. It’s actually kind of weird because he could have shot Tony from the balcony and killed him but instead he decides to stalk him and let so many people die, on top of what I mentioned before. Like tony turns around and he’s just like “oh.”
      The skull beefs his shots and gets filled with lead because he decided to wear sunglasses at night and indoors

    • @jonathannolen5454
      @jonathannolen5454 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@prolificpoultry4899 true. The skull would've been fucked if Tony turned around before he could get close enough to hit him with that double barrel.

      I thought it was a matter of respect. Like he knew Tony was holding his own and needed a warrior's death.

    • @BestWayKilla
      @BestWayKilla ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all for style's sake. Tony is getting utterly turned to Swiss cheese by all these bullets, but he's so high on the powder and frothing, animalistic adrenaline that he's become virtually unkillable, and the guys down below are probably scared shitless that they've shot this guy so many times and he's still standing and shooting back. Clearly the intelligent thing to do would be to nail him the moment he got the chance, but the slow, deliberate stalking up to him is a metaphor: he's the Grim Reaper, and he's about to shatter Tony's coke-fueled illusion of invincibility.

    I'm Going To Say This Clearly Tony Was A Man Of No Fear, Let Me Repeat This, He Was A Man Of NO FUCKING FEAR.. He Had Morals And BALLS And Rules To Follow His Own Codes But If He Didn't Snort His Damn Mind Away He Would've Been Straight Up Clean Without The Coke. But In Reality This Movie Shows You That Tony Montana Was A Man Who Had Nothing To Lose But Huge Ambitions To Get To The Top. It's Crazy To Say That "THE WORLD IS YOURS" Saying That He Used It Motivated Him And It Cost Him His Life And Turning His Back On His Family And Friends. He Was Just Another Fool Looking At The World From His Point Of View To Say He's Finally Made It. Nobody Can't Stop Him To Achieving His Own Dreams. But That All Comes Crashing Down. This Movie Made Me Realize That The American Dream He Had Was There But It Went All To Hell After The Siderbaum Bust And The Dinner That He Had With Elvira and Manny. One Thing For Sure Elvira Was Right When She Said "Can't You See What We Becoming Tony"? "We're Not Winners, We're Losers."That Made Plain Sense For Tony And U.N Hit In New York City. Not To Say it Like This But We All Gotta A Inner Tony Montana In Us When We Want More But Sometimes Our Ambitions Can Cost Us Anything That We Worked So Hard To Get Even Sometimes Our Own Loved Ones.💯💯🙌🏾

    Tony went out like a fucking beast. I really don't think this movie get as much credit as it deserves, especially being a remake. Other than the long running time and things going to Tony's head, its pretty flawless. I don't even think Tony was very wrong in most of his actions, save for killing Manny and traumatizing Gina for witnessing it. He came from nothing, was treated harshly because he was an immigrant, came here worked hard tried to take care of his friend and family, even got him self killed for doing what was right, not killing the wife and kids and in the end he just lost it, but still felt badly about Manny and worse about Gina and when out fighting and almost wining, if not for the Rev 9 at the end, which was still better than everything in Terminator: Dark Fate and Salvation. He didn't take Lopez's advice and screwed up but went down honorable, not like a coward running, but swinging for the fences, got to admire that.
