A story. A man fires a rifle for many years. and he goes to war. And afterwards he comes home, and he sees that whatever else he may do with his life - build a house, love a woman, change his son's diaper - he will always remain a jarhead. And all the jarheads killing and dying, they will always be me. We are still in the desert.

In the last few seconds of Tony's life, the mansion IMO had a Hellish fire atmosphere especially because of all the bad he has done in life and what he will go through when he has to meet with the devil for eternity.

the movie, the scenes, quotes that inspired so many things other movies, tv shows, music(hip hop especially) fashion, music, memes, video games you name it.....that last scene with tony dead in the pool....with the sign the world is yours reminds me of the bible verse" what does it profit a man to gain the whole world only to lose his own soul".

THIS is how the BluRay version should have sounded.... they absolutely FUCKED the Foley gunshots. It sounded like a budget-ass Call Of Duty support weapon being fired outdoors, not an M16 being fired inside a large reverberant space. The gunshots here all blur into one, which is exactly what a gun like that sounds like when there's that many reflective surfaces. Even on set with full flash blanks, the noise would have been monstrous (think Heat, where the sound of the guns firing blanks had such a powerful effect that they chose to actually record it). There's a generation of sound designers who have such a dreadful taste in gunshot effects that it's unreal... Sure, Hollywood is known for overdoing things for dramatic effect and that generally works great. But using crappy heavy machine-gun sounds with zero reverb, zero ambience? That's shit sound design right there. When the on-screen result is a gun that sounds weak, and unimpressive, you know for a fact that whoever did the re-make Foley effects hasn't experienced people firing guns (be they blanks for live rounds) in a variety of places with minimal hearing protection. So much top-tier effort went into every aspect of every single thing you see on screen, including very notably a significant amount of work making sure the rate of fire on the "M16" (I believe an AR-15 was used to achieve this) was a close to 12 rounds per second as possible. This meant that at 24 frames per second, almost every other frame captured a hefty muzzle flash, giving the gun (and therefore Tony) a massive sense of power and threat. In this clip, the visuals not only match but are amplified by the sound effects. The gunfire is a deafening wall of noise, as it legitimately would be in person! Not ra-ta-tat-tat. Indoor ranges are often NOT particularly reverberant because it leads to the sound bouncing off the walls and being sustained for far longer. Even in a slightly reverberant range (seen here for example, notice the reverb or "echo" as the shooter seats the magazine and hits the bolt catch: th-cam.com/users/shortsX1--nwjCAbY) the sound lingers hard. That range as reflective as Tony's grand staircase, with plenty of marble and nowhere near enough carpet to dampen anything. When reality sounds genuinely terrifying, imitate and accentuate reality creatively for artistic effect. THAT'S good production. It's like in one Bond film, where a stray 9mm handgun round is show piercing a CO2 fire extinguisher. Sure, that's stretching reality pretty thin when a CO2 cylinder is generally 5mm thick, but it's a film, artistic licence wins. But when the pierced extinguisher is shown gently blowing out gas, while still attached to the wall? That thing would at best spinning round the floor like CRAZY, and quite literally flying around the room like a missile at worst! Reality being far cooler than what was shown is a total let-down. While I'm guessing they just didn't quite have time when filming the scene to do that special effect justice (obviously it would take some effort to pull off safely, and certainly wouldn't be done for real unless it was a closeup shot done from a safe distance with no one in danger), I kinda expected more from such an epic budget film. They nailed this scene first time around in the 80s, such a shame to see it ruined by modern production.

Scarface is such a good movie that in 2024 this ending is still as good and shocking. I will never forget when I saw the movie for the first time 6 years ago, it blew my mind.

There's one thing that I never really could wrap my head around in Scarface. At first glance, it's Tony's Hubris and lack of morals that gets him and the people he cares for killed. But actually, what really got him killed was standing up for women and children. Remember, Sosa sent these men to kill him because Tony fucked Sosa over... but not to gain power, but because Sosa ordered him to blow up a car with women and children inside.
