4 years on, this excellent article still works; built one today for my grandson's birthday. Magic stuff! 🙂
how'd do you do it? mine only beeps but dont move, i already got the libraries and i follow the circuit diagram, can you help me?
@@rodeliodompor4446 Hi, When I first tried it after building, mine didn't move either. What I found was I had the motor connections wrong. You must NOT just connect all 4 motors positive to positive and negative to negative. if you do that, the front wheels are trying to go forward and the rear wheels are going backwards, so it stands still.
On mine. the 2 front wheels have the red/blue wires; the rear wheels have green/yellow. Try reversing the green/yellow connections on the motor drive shield.
I hope this helps.
@@andrewmelville8560 I already tried it but unfortunately it still doesn't move, I tried lifting it up to test if the wheels cancel each other but they still doesn't move
@@rodeliodompor4446 Hi, I am sorry that did not work for you. The only other thing I can suggest is to make sure that the servo connection goes to the right terminals (there are two separate servo channels) - 6:08 in the video.
Hi, a couple of other thoughts have come to mind; firstly - can you let me know if you definitely uploaded the sketch through the Arduino IDE? Did you get confirmation that it had uploaded successfully?
THANK YOU SO MUCH BC IM TAKING ROBOTICS CLASS NEXT WEEK AND THIS HELPED A TON THANKS
@DIYBuilder in motor shield, which I purchased from flyrobo is not having pins to connect ultrasonic sensor, it has holes. So can you please suggest how to connect wires comin from ultrasonic to those holes. Is soldering an option. Thank You
This is a very clear cut demonstration / program man, well done
I had no problems with this but once I loaded my libraries, I tried to import them which I shouldn't have done. the code
After so many videos, the first one tha really covered all the aspects that matter.
u did the thing

It's been 4 years since this video encouraged me about Arduino. A lot of memories with this. I really impressed what a single development board can do. After that, I continuously watch your videos. I also loved your other robot car videos. You're the best Arduino related TH-camr, atleast for me. Hope you'll continue with new new projects which may be small or big.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment, I'm grateful for your continuous support, it means a lot to me. I'll do my best to keep bringing you fresh content, whether it's a small or big project.
Once again, thank you for being a part of this journey with me ❤❤❤

is there an alternative for the sensor stand???

I'm doing this for fun and practicing stuff for drones on a car first lol
@DIY Builder In circuit diagram, there is given 9v battery. Can we use 9v to motor shield?
This is very easy and it is a good project.I have done this project for my school competition
Hi I have one doubt when we connect external Power to motor driver shield the yellow jumber should be removed or kept as it is???????
i guy , thanks alot for the video .. for sure this is the best video i have watched so far on youtube about the Robot . man this is really wonderful ,... thanks alot
Thanks :)

Can you help?
The ultrasonic sensor is working when the car is almost dashing, the project is good anyways overall and you did a great work.
Nostalgia hits me hard watching this video after so long.
Can you please tell me how you added those additional needles to the driver shield where you were able to connect the sensor? you dont show this in the video :(
This is the first video which gives a very detailed information. Thank you so much for this .

Hi @DIY Builder, I have a question regarding the motor driver shield…
Where can I find the cable extensions where I insert the ultrasonic sensor wires to the driver? Thank u.
the sensor pack usually comes with jumper wires. if not then go and buy a pack of dupont wires they are very cheap. Youll need 4 female to female wires. You will also need to solder some IO pins to your shield
Thank you so much for helping us make this project
hey, first of all thanks for sharing the video. and I'd really appreciate it if you answered my question. I did every connection right but the servo is only turning once when I upload it. any clue?
This is an excellent proyect , thank you very much and greetings from México

I make it today according to your guide code and library and it's working perfectly. THANKYOU SOO MUCH SIR.

This is a good and clear demonstration, but the sensor is looking at left all the time. Is the sensor faulty or the code?
This is a very clear cut demonstration / program man, well done
I had no problems with this but once I loaded my libraries, I tried to import them which I shouldn't have done. the code works as clearly as the video demonstrates!
(Maybe state they need to charge their 18650 batteries)
How to load libraries. Is it necessary to upload? Or Arduino code is enough? Pls reply

Amazing work bro, 😎
Cute.. this project can be used in automatic floor cleaners making factories 😊
I love how you skipped soldering the 6 prong power switch and went right to showing us how to screw a battery box to a piece of plastic. Real power move
Dude, i need to make a similar project but instead of ultrasonic sensors I have to use light dependent resistor to make a car that will stop at red light or any other light source, can you suggest me what to do
Thanks for full link of product and code in discreption
I'm going to do that with my own code but there is one thing that I'm afraid of it's that when you move the ultrusonic with your hands it reads -334 cm or 0.5 cm even if it's so far away so does it do that even with the servo movements?

@@DIYBuilder Bro can i use normal duracell AA battery instead of 18650 battery?
A perfect tutorial.♥
Hi! Can you use a regular AA/AAA battery with their respective battery holders instead of a 18650 battery? Thanks
No you can't
18560 batteries and the holder are not available on the website in the description. I need the materials a little urgently since I have a school project. What do you suggest?@@DIYBuilder

I really liked this project, it is much cheaper and beautiful.
th-cam.com/video/Y8pgWrieLTo/w-d-xo.html
Is it cheaper
Hi, in the parts list there are two 3.6 volts batteries in parallel, but in the Circuit Diagram it says to use a 9V battery. Are both options safe?
A little late, but yes it is safe. The arduino will convert either to 5v as long as the input as below 20v safely, I believe
@@connorsullivan5996 doesn't arduino uno need 9v to work?
The detailing is perfect
hello the motor driver u showed before and used before is different?
will a 1:48 reduction ratio for the motors work as well?
thx
太棒了!It's amazing!
Love it, the only thing I noticed is, on the motor shield, there are pins that don’t come with it, do you add them after then?
Awesome project I just completed mine ❤❤❤❤❤
@DIY Builder I appreciate your hard work but just a little note - Actually the code that you have used in your build was right but the code in the discription has a MISTAKE - in the line where it is written [If distance R < distance L] should be distance R > distance L as in the next line it is written turn right so as a result due to this mistake the car is turning right when distance L or (Distance Left) is greater it should be the opposite because the car need to avoid the obstacle not to get towards the obstacle so please rectify this
Anyways your videos are amazing 🙂,
Thanks
Is that the only mistake there?
I mean If I use the code in description with changing that detail you mentioned I'll have no problems right?
@@salmaj7607 Yes you will have no problems, by the way I don't know whether @DIY Builder has changed the description code or not but if he hasn't changed you can follow my steps given above and change the code, actually the code is not so difficult just make sure that whatever changes you are doing - the car should avoid the obstacle not go towards it, just read the code once it will make you clear and,
Thanks for your comment
Hey can u help me I Insert the code on Arduino board but I didn't do anything thing what's the problem is there can u tell me???
@@senoritaff2680 Yes you have to change the line in the code which I have mentioned above, just go through the whole code once you will find the line and delete the part which I mentioned and rewrite the line according to my comment and save the code then connect your arduino to your device and re-upload the code and BOOM you are done, if you want to know what's the problem with the original code I have explained it in brief in my comment you can also check other's comments where I have explained them why the original code is incorrect and so on.If you still have any doubts feel free to contact me.
