Great video, really enjoyed this one. We will get Mike yet, lol. I am a side sleeper at home, but have trained myself to back sleep in a hammock and it is the best sleep I get. It did take me some time when I converted from my tent, like 8-10 nights. Thanks again for all you do for the hammock community!❤
My dad used to eat cereal with water all the time. But we was really poor😂😂. Mike needs to give it a few hangs before he calls it quits on a hammock 😁 Cool video brother 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice scenery, Tim! I section hiked half of the Appalachian Trail, using a hammock, finishing in 2022. In 2023, I attempted a thruhike, falling and hurting my knee, over 1,000 miles in, ending that attempt. Other than two times sleeping in shelters because of high winds, and a dozen or so nights sleeping in hostel bunks, mostly due to a previous injury, I slept in my hammock, using a system that I had put together in 2008, but updated using ultralight equipment for my long (275 mile) section hikes in '21 and '22, and the thruhike attempt last year. I'm a side sleeper at home and usually started out that way in my hammock, sometimes waking up on my back. I don't use tents unless there is no place to hang a hammock. Having a tarp, which can be kept on the outside of a pack, gives you shelter for lunch in the rain during the day. It's a perk that's sometimes overlooked by hammock users. Oh, and never a muddy floor! 11:43 I think that bears eat that, too! All "signs" along the trail indicate it! Lastly, I can stand up under my tarp to change, if I pitch it high enough. I'd have to carry a 7 pound plus tent for that, or a $700.00 DCF pyramid.
A hack fore your hammock put soft shackles or Carabiners on the tree end of your straps . This allows you to clip to one tree and walk to the other playing out your hammock . :)
Absolutely trying that meal combo on my next hike. Great suggestion. Mike, great job on not falling for the hammock's seductive ways. Stick with us ground dwellers
Don't give up, have him try a ridgerunner, banyan, or a town's end bridge hammock and see if that would help. Side and stomach sleepers do better in the bridge. I love my superior gear hammock. I switched from being a side sleeper to sleeping on my back, and while it took a bit of adjusting, I'd never go back to tents willingly now.
Good try by Mike. Nice job setting it up too. I started sleeping better on the ground after hammock camping. It got me used to staying on my back when in a comfortable position.
Hammock or tents, you guys are great! 😊. We are with Mike on this one though, firmly in the ground dwelling side sleeping camp 🏕😂. But we would give a hammock a go for the experience. Food looked yum 😋. Think it would be impossible for you two not to have a good time when you get out together. More please! All the best, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍
We will conver the buttetfly whisperer one day. Love my hammock! It's the only time I can sleep like a baby on my back. Otherwise I'm a side sleeper. That penne with Buffalo chicken sounds amazing. I'll need to try it
Chuckled a few times, I'm on Mikes side, Mikes stick together. Tents Or Die, and no i have never slept in a hammock, but ive also never hiked south, Go North Or Die! Thanks for the video Buckley!

Touched by a hammock for the very first time!
Tune in if you have time, Pete!
You two are great 😃
Awww....thanks Betty. Mike is like my brother.
Looked like a great trip. Still haven't tried hammocking but need to some day.
It's an acquired taste but so awesome once you figure out how to sleep in one!

It does take more than 2 nights to truly appreciate a hammock. Thank YOU for the great gear, Pete!
How about some powdered milk for the cereal? I've got to keep my eyes open for that pasta. Thanks for the video brother
That would work too. I was just testing out a way to keep it even simpler. Turned out delicious!
My dad used to eat cereal with water all the time. But we was really poor😂😂.

The creamer works well Jason! I couldn't believe it!

Hammocks for the win my friend!

I'll see if I can keep swaying him! Lol

I've adjusted to both shelters as a side sleeper. You just have to find the right gear.
the force is strong in Mike , glad we didn't lose another to the dark side
I will over take him someday....
Let's go Mike. Ground camping all the way. Can't wait to see you guys again. Keep it up.
Stinky ground dwellers. Lol. Can't wait to hang out bud!

The chicken and pasta was a delight! I like my hammock because I can roll around at night and still stay warm. Thanks Tonya!

That's fair, Mike. You're videos have always been amongst my favorite. You're a "chuckle" kinda guy too.
Very intertaining video, my friend. I'm not buying another hammock. I'm still a ground dweller. Lol
You stay on the ground sir! 😀
Ok this looks fun.
Stuff it 😂😂
I pee alot during night. Tent for me
It was a real fin trip!
You said it makes sense…when you look at him 🤣😂😂😂😂
That's how I roll buddy! 😀
@@BackpackingwithBuckley 😂
Cap’n Crunch!
Wish it was peanut butter!
He needs to sleep in a hammock during a rainstorm. THEN he'll be a convert.
Well said man. So much nicer in rain!
