Buddhism says it’s attachments that create suffering. God ,if there’s one doesn’t doesn’t control the planets. We’re part of nature. That’s my understanding. 🤣😄😂😂

Krishnamurti's overall message is quite simple: Let go of your memories, your attachments, hence your ego, thus wiping out the division between the observer and the observed. He had talked passionately for many decades, throughout his life, yet I'm not aware of a single person who got fully enlightened listening to him (or reading his books). Why is that? Perhaps the task of fully letting go of who one is would require a state of mind that is way beyond just listening or reading about it. Therein lies the gap, and one is left uncertain as to what to do, other than just keep listening to the message, which is but the finger pointing to the moon.

"Memory" is a collection of information about animate or inanimate "the other".This information is gathered based on subjective likes and dislikes of the one gathering it.This memory- bank collection is what one gets identified with and becomes "ME"/ "I".Attachment to the stored information is very important because it gives a sense of security and identity. The cause of this attachment to memory is because I don't know who I am.Until introspection reveals the answer to this all- important question,we will gather information based on our subjectivity, and identify with them as " I am that".

Throughout his life J Krishnamurthy continued to explore logically the thoughts emerging in the course of his discourses. That is the process of learning. That's why during discourses he talks about investigating the ideas together between the audience and himself.
The theme explored in this talk is really enlightening the concept of identity. The memories make the identity. But what is attachment which holds the memories together like particles in a material body? That cannot be memory. The continuity in the sequence of memories is held together by attachment? This idea is not clear to me. Other ideas like fear of death of losing all collected memory can be understood. But who is that who experiences that fear?

We are not memory. We are tendencies plus awareness which makes our personality. Even if we do not remember we will still act according to our tendencies.

Right, but the true Self of everybody is Pure Consciousness, or Sat-Chit-Ananda per Shankara's Advaita Vedanta. I am That, you are That, the entire universe is That Pure Consciousness or Sat-Chit-Ananda. This is the Substance (Spinoza's term) that transcends memory and thought itself.

Yep....you wish. Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself of something...if you are true Self why did you come and comment and be all worried and want some confirmation that what you think is right...??

Soul is but Energy. It is like a pen drive, which registers "karma or deeds". Whether good or bad all memory is stored.
When that energy "soul or pen drive" is escaped from the body, carrying all memory of a lifetime, goes with it.

John Locke the philosopher mentioned this idea centuries ago & called it „ tabula rasa“ i. e. a child is born & knows nothing of life on earth, he gradually gains experience & memory & so becomes a self, an ego. Renee Descartes put it more saliently by saying „ cogito ergo sum“ i. e. I think therefore I am. Therefore there is nothing new in that speech. I believe the way Mr. Krishnamurti is speaking is a bit over dramatising, but it‘s OK.

See sir, he always says , you mustn't accept any authority, you should investigate it, he is like a mirror , u see ur true self in it. You have never heard JK completely. You think therefore you are, what after that?... How to get out of I?.... What about love and compassion which JK tells about?..what about intelligence( not anyone's individual) which comes after perception denuded of your complete past?.. Whatever things he says ,we have to investigate it ourselves and then go forward, not just accept it theoretically, ...
