    Props for using hand tools on the seat. I watched in awe as Sam precarved each section of the chair seat prior to glue up, using the band saw. He showed us the templates he had for each section. Eliminating alot of carving later and allowing for repeatability. A Maloff chair is on my bucket list. Nice video

    The finish is lovely! Also, serious props for using so many hand tools! You make them look so easy, but I (as a person who has messed up too many pieces of wood trying to use hand tools) know better. Amazing work!

    Nice work. I'm curious whose plans you used. I know it's inspired by Maloof. Looks heavier somehow. Not trying to be critical. Could be camera angles.

    Ok, you defiantly earned a bunch more subscribers including mine…. Where did you get the plans for that chair? Building Sam Maloof rocking chairs are very much on my bucket list. I yearn to build one for each of my family members before I die. I’m in my 60’s so I better get started..

      I didn't have a plan I used a chair someone else had built. Best of luck building one, my advice is to just dive in.

    Very Nice build. I don't understand why you made the video so fast. I found it hard to watch. I would much rather sit back and enjoy and appreciate every step at a more pleasurable speed. I understand how many hours a project like this takes, but a nice video maybe 30 to 45 minutes would be much more comfortable to watch. It wound be more educational and appreciated more. But again a very nice build. Thanks for presenting it.

    Also, if you don’t mind me asking, do you have a ratio for the finish? I saw in another comment it is polyurethane cut with mineral spirits, but which brand/type of polyurethane do you use, and how much do you mix and cut? I would love a recipe!

      Sorry for the late response, but if remember correctly it was half polyurethane and half mineral spirits.

    I’m making a low backed dining chair version for school... I’m 17 and I wandered if u had any ripe for carving the seat? I’m using an electrical carving tool but I noticed your using some different ones? Why and what are they called.. Thank you for the video.. 🤙

      Yeah the power carving tool works well but sometimes can require a lot more sanding to get it even surface, the hand carving method takes a little more time to get the right shape but when you get there it’s closer to being finished.
      I don’t know off the top of my head but they’re called exactly but you can find them at www.leevalley.com

      Titebond III? Yours looked brown almost like a polyester or hide glue

      @@webcrawler3332 yeah, it gives you a little more time to work with as it sets up slower, and it also dries extremely hard, eliminating flex in bent laminations
