Graham, I always enjoy your reviews on firearms as a “whole “ and not by its subtle changes when manufacturers develop a new model . You always explain why those changes were most likely made and how it improves the handling and firing of the weapon.
Nice holster. I shot my SC with the pinky extension a couple of weeks ago. Makes a noticeable difference in my groupings vs the flush mag and sacrifices nothing for concealability. Love this gun.
The Walther PPQ SC LE is a great pistol . . . only disappointment is not having the paddle magazine release that is on the P99 AS SC (great for those that shoot both right & left-handed). Only disappointment with the P99 AS SC is it doesn't have the extended slide release that's featured on the PPQ SC LE! If only I could make a Frankenstein! I have the same issues with my Black Arch holsters; otherwise, a phenomenal holster! I only wish I put a little more thought into the purchase as I should've color-coded the mesh fabric to match the magazine follower (blue vs red) both magazines are almost identical but the PPQ SC has a modification since the slide has a polymer insert, giving it a quicker cycle speed. I made the mistake of trying to insert a magazine into the wrong handgun. Fortunately I made the error during a class and I had both SCs in my range bag, testing them out. Never had an issue with my Glocks since they are all compatible amongst the line of pistols, by caliber. Kudos on a great video! I too am a Walther (& VW) fan!!!
I ordered the pinky extension right from Walther a day or so after I got the gun. Just enough. Wish it was a +1 but not yet. You're absolutely correct... I'll take the little bit of extra thickness for the awesome trigger and accuracy. BareArms holster... Works excellent.
I bought my ppq sc when it first came out and have ditched my Glock 43 to carrying it everyday since. I bought a bravo concealment kydex appendix holster and could do it but it’s so much more comfortable carrying it at the 4/5 o’clock position. I agree with the banana hands reference I’m 6’7” and couldn’t shoot the Glock 43 worth a shit. I could almost put my entire finger to the first knuckle in the trigger it was so small. Walther just never put much marketing behind it to get momentum behind it. Too little, too late, I guess which is a shame. You can buy them now for sub $400 which is pretty incredible for the best true subcompact in its class. Micro’s are cool and concealable but if you can’t shoot it then what’s the point?
I love the gun, the trigger is actually better than the cz p10c. I never thought i would say that. The only thing i dont care to much about is the sights. They remind me of glock sights. Any one out there have the same situation? Any suggestions? I like green night sights like true glow.
It's a great pistol but I was a little upset Walther didn't include a simple pinky extension in the standard kit. I had to buy it from them for $15+shipping. And it's a lot shorter than I expected. May just have to start carrying with the full size mag.
I was at a gun range this morning checking out the Sig P365, like and micro compact it is snappy, but man, what a great gun. I haven't shot the Walther yet, I'm looking for a place that might have one to rent, but none of the ranges near me in Northeast Ohio have any. I guess I'll just take your word for it, 😂.
Have you tried a regular PPQ? Damn near the best striker fired pistol on the market if not the best (P99 might take the cake). That said, the P365 is probably going to be great for people with normal/small sized hands when they get it sorted out.
The Triggerati I have a PPQ full size, I also have a Canik TP9SF which in my opinion has a better trigger than the PPQ. I'm just looking for something small with a bit more power than my Ruger LCP II. .380 is cool but I love my 9's. Size means everything.
I did a slight trigger job on my PPQ to improve the takeup and break so I forget what it was like when I got it (though it was very good I had some creepiness on the takeup). From what I hear the TP9 is very good and might have a better take up. They are both very similar designs based on the P99. The Triggerati Cool, thanks. I generally don't mess with my guns because they are generally my work tools other than my knock around guns like my SD9 which I've done the APEX trigger on and reduced the trigger pull from an 8 pound trigger to about 5 1/2 lbs, BTW for a budget gun it's been a real champ for 3 years now, about 3000 rounds and it hasn't failed once, and I've had issues with guns 3 times the price of this one. Even my PPQ has had quite a few failures to extract and even a few double feed. Anyhow, thanks for the info.
Bad news for the SC version. Trijicon HD sights will not fit that gun: UPDATE the PPS Trijicon did work, with some TLC needed to secure the rear sight.
Coal Akida I have a pair of those on order, that should arrive within the next day or two. I was under the impression, according to the Trijicon website, that these did in fact fit the Walther PPQSC??? What is it that you have found, with the HD sights??
Oh man , plenty,: Tools needed : 3/64 1/16 allen wrenches , only found one company that makes it Tekton , drove 2 hours away to get that set to this obscure german store. You also need 3/16 driver cap driver with a super thin profile. The rear sight is going to be a bit loose even after you use the set screw in the middle so you will need to use some lock tight inside that screw and let it sit over night. Make sure you hold the screw and than screw the front sight to the screw and the not the screw to the front sight, as that will save so much time , from doing that dance. PPS Trijicon did work, but it was just a bit sketchy . Thanks bob
Coal Akida Ok. Good info to have. I am a retired tool and die maker, so the tools will not be a problem. Thanks for the info on the rear sight. I have looked at TH-cam, and see the deal with the screw. I come from the Glock side, and have not seen this screw style. May have tried to drift it out of the dove tail and really had issues. LOL looking to install a light, and maybe a laser combo on the PPQ SC. Any suggestions on this? Any advice is good food for thought. Thank you again.
No info on that, but I would like to know why is the 3/64 allen wrench so mysterious, I looked at 25 different sets and only found 1 company in the world that made it.
@@GBGuns Just wait until you encounter the dreaded holster squeak every time you shift weight or move. I have a Crossbreed SuperTuck that is well broken-in and this is its downfall. Otherwise the holster is extremely comfortable, whether in the heat/humidity of a Midwest summer or the frozen Chicago winters. Electrical tape, foam tabs, baby powder - nothing seems to work to resolve the squeak. That's why I've converted to Black Arch!
I wonder whether it's possible to increase the undercut on this gun the way folks do on the Glocks. It might offer people with big hands a little more room on the grip.
Have a 1000 rounds thru my PPQ SC , just blows the sig away in comfort shooting, that size goes a long way in getting a nice soft recoil. Something you want if you spend time at the range . Accuracy was outstanding shooting at 30 ft. Trigger is so good, that it allows me a greater chance to have better shots. This gun is so under rated, I took back the Glock 19 , to squishy a trigger for me and no where near the accuracy at 30 ft . Using the Clinger Stinger for appendix carry, and the J4 Tactical magnetic holder , outstanding for quick setup .. I just got the PPS Rmsc but I am so unhappy with the trigger feel, I thought it would be the same as the PPQ but the trigger is set up completely different. Some people love it but I do not. I enjoy the accuracy at the range.
I've been cycling through my VP9SK, P365 and PPQ SC since mid march and tend to carry the HK a little more. Not sure why, just feel like its "more gun" when really its not. I only received my 10 round w/ pinky extension this week so that might shake things up a little. Being in AZ I don't worry about printing almost ever. Like literally only in Costco. I'm in this weird phase where I enjoy shooting my P365 at the range and carrying my HK. Bizarro world??
I could have sworn it was in one of your videos, but it might have been someone else. Initial examples of the PPQ had an issue with part of the trigger bar inducing a lot of premature wear on the outside of the barrel right near the chamber, to the point that some of the finish was coming off. Maybe this was an issue only in the early production, and by the time you got the replacement for your issue with that internal rail, they might have fixed the problem?
LMAO. I just realized that the internal rail issue was _also_ from another video, not yours. My bad. But I guess if you haven't experienced either of these problems yourself, they must have been limited to certain production lots.
OMG, you're more right than you know. The P365 can't touch the PPQ SC. It's too small even for small hands to shoot it as well as this pistol or a Glock 26, P99c, etc... Anyway, thanks for the update.
Why can't a company like Whalter make a finger extention that's about an 1/8 inch longer to fit all hands. Very poor design for this finger extention. Hopefully Pearce will pay attention and make one larger and a plus 2!
I wish they would come out with a 12rd magazine with a pinky extension.
They do, but it 15 rounds with a magazine sleeve.
Iv looked the holster up see only option for 4" m2 but the spec barrel for the ppq sc is 3.5 is this the same.

the LE edition comes with steel night sights, and also 3 mags.

The absolute best iwb for this gun is the Garrett Industries Silent Thunder Slim iwb leather lined kydex. The absolute best iwb , period!!

No problem. Yeah I've heard the SD9 is underrated.
I think the steyr s9a1 is better or the hk vp9sk

Are you noticing any immediate wear on the PPQ SC using that holster?
Not yet
Would you recommend that as the best holster
I really enjoyed mine until I lost a screw. I use Crossbreed now.

I looked on the Black Arch website for the holster you use and they do not have one for the ppq sc. Did you use one for a regular ppq?
It's been a few years, but I think it was one for the regular PPQ.

Focus RR: It has been 2 years now. Which pistol do you like better. VP9SK or PPQ SC? i am on the fence between the two. Thanks
wincav sorry. Sold both. Now I switch between the p365 sas and hellcat everyday

I feel Walther's are so Volkswagen and HKs are BMW's lol
Do you mean that like in how Volkswagen holds many world records but BMW costs more?
