My dad mentioned his name many times since I was kid....my memories were vague but after watching your channel, finally I get to know the whole story and went ahead find out more about Ling Gesar King. Wow...... incarnation of Guru Padmasambhava and was the longest Epic in the World, more than Mahabharata......... I'm so very proud. Demons came into existence like orcs, beast, spirits , deities and so on . So in heaven, gods made decision to send Guru Rinpoche as ling gesar the one who will be the king and Jetsun dolma was send as Shingcham Dumo (wife of ling gesar) who was queen of ling. He has two uncle one named aku throtong gyalpo and aku Jojo Pala . We can visit Tibet or Bhutan to know more about him. Bhutan may not have a detail information about him but Tibet will surely have. First of Thankyou for taking your time and making such a video! But Gesar wasn’t the son of the king of ling. The king had no children. Gesar is a miracle born child who’s mother was a Naga princess/ queen. The king of ling because he had no children took Gesar in as a child bc he showed miraculous sign of a god/special being. He found him near what is now called swat valley (upper Afghanistan)

In Tibet, Opera artist used to narrate everything from their memory....

I heard some Opera artist are illiterate but....... they can narrate such long epic story..... how? Its like a mind terma, everything comes to their mind......I believe it is the blessing from our most precious Master, Guru Rinpoche.

@@mohdmussa215 The book name is "Kesar The Son of God" translated by S. M. Abbas Kazmi. It is printed by University of Baltistan, Skardu and you can order it online from Soday Book Centre, Baltistan. I got my copy from them as well. :)

Gesar of Ling (Tib. གླིང་གེ་སར་, Wyl. gling ge sar) - a legendary warrior king who is invoked as a protector of the teachings.

Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche says:
Some people think of Ling Gesar as a famous warrior king or general, like Alexander the Great or the Chinese war gods. Others are of the opinion that Ling Gesar is primarily something like a tertön, an individual blessed by Guru Rinpoche who manifests to benefit beings through that blessing. But the real nature of the manifestation we know as Ling Gesar is actually that of Guru Rinpoche himself appearing in the form of a drala.
Namkha Drimé Rinpoche, who is said to be an emanation of Gesar's elder brother, Bumpe Gyatsa Shyalkar, says that Gesar is the embodiment of the lords of the three families, appearing in the form of a drala. He is the body emanation of Manjushri, the speech emanation of Avalokiteshvara and the mind emanation of Vajrapani.
Yes, I just read that now. I heard his name from my father when I was kid. My father used to listen to Gesar epic alot and after few decades , now I'm searching for his story, I really don't know how big it was back then. Wow.....😮 my expression after learning about Ling Gesar. I'm so very proud that he was from Dege County, Lingtsang.( My father home town). He is the manifestation of Guru Rinpoche 🙏 himself and it is the longest epic of the World. I'm kinda thinking such story needs to be taught at school. So, that every Tibetan kids learned such legandery Warrior King stories. Great 🙏

The epic of Gesar has been the national treasure of Tibet for almost a thousand years. An open canon of tales about a superhuman warrior king, the epic is still a living oral tradition, included on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The Epic is considered the longest literary work in the world, containing over 20 million words in more than one million verses, longer than the world's other five great epics combined: The ancient Babylonian Gilgamesh (3,000 verses), the Greek Iliad (over 15,000 verses ) and Odyssey (12,000 verses), and the Indian Ramayana (18,000 odes with two verses each) and Mahabharata (more than 100,000 odes comprising over 200,000 verses).
