“Finding Joy in the midst of despair...” yea that’s a true statement if I ever heard one. In Afghanistan it was all we could do to keep finding things to laugh at, we swapped funny stories with anyone we could to spread laughter. My favorites were a pair of irish men I met while having lunch as I was preparing to cycle back, we started off comparing service rifles, then over a few smokes we started swapping stories of deployments past, funny things we did or saw in training back home, lamenting the fact we only had access to non alcoholic beer there.... great guys really. In the end we had a few brits, the Irish, a Scot or two I think, and if I’m not mistaken a danish soldier was even at the same table. Men, women, hell im not even certain of what ranks the people I was conversing with carried, in the end the laughter is what mattered. Because when you’re in a situation like that, hundreds of miles from home, in a country where most people would like to see you dead, or just fighting a war in general, that laughter is more valuable than gold and does more for mental health of the people participating than can be described with words.
WWII my dad was wounded in France, sent to England fell in love with Ms.Tierney his Army nurse knew each other for 3 months married and were married till her death for 49 years. Thank you!!!!
It's like the story of a regular Ukrainian soldier who falls in love with a Ukrainian girl who came as a medical aid during a Russian invasion and runs away with the Ukrainian girl to western Ukraine.
Ma'am... as a US Army Airborne Special Operations Forces Officer (and Soldier!).... I say Aye! Thank you for sharing your magick of the Dance and Song! V/r, Captain Rick in Central Texas. (82nd Airborne DIvision, 509th Airborne, 5th Special Forces Group plus a few others!)
I've watched this video numerous times now, and I just realized it wasn't the actual music video. This video is absolutely amazing. I truly love it, it looks so professionally done!

my dad served as a paratrooper (the ones with the maroon berets) in Afghan when he was injured. His first ever deployment was to Ireland showing this to him tonight!
WW2 has always been so interesting to me, everyday I'm either watching veterans from that time tell their stories or listen to music that was popular in that era. This music video is probably the best I've ever seen

Thank you most kindly Miss Redlich. The performance was a joy to watch. It is good to see our young people now celebrating the lives of our fallen and expressing their thanks to those who gave up everything they had or ever would have had for the good of others. Forever nineteen. Vietnam 69-71. An Hoa River Basin/Arizona Valley. 5th Marines 2/1. Semper Fi.
My grandfather was in the 504 PIR.... Seeing this reminds me the stories he would tell of how him and my grandmother met while in England....He passed a year ago sadly, but seeing this brings back many good memories of him. Thank you.
Getting a little emotional watching this video and am reminded of the importance of the men and women who have put their lives on the line for the countries and people they know and love the most💓 Do your best to stay healthy and safe but never forget to enjoy the gift of dance and living life to the fullest. Thank you so much for bringing such a beautiful song and video for the world to enjoy-FwM 💓🤍💙
The statements that were made throughout this video are just staggering. It really draws you in and capture your heart. All his videos I've seen have just hooked you in and made you forget the world around you. THANKS FOR THE GLIMPSE OF BEAUTY
Thank you! As the wife of a disabled American vet, I love seeing these types of support videos. They go through so much and give so much. Also I internally squealed at the history dress you chose!
I LOVE this!! I love to watch Irish dancing..if I ever tried to jump up in the air and land back on my feet while still dancing and looking graceful I would break something
Most of them were US soldiers 82nd Airborne. I just retired from active duty with just over 20 years. I served with 1st Cav, 101st Airborne, 15th Signsl, 1st Signal and deployed under 3rd Infantry, 82nd Airborne, 101st Airborne and 1ST Cav. Merica

Hi there, I love your video! My great grand-father perished in WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the age of 25. He was on a volunteer aerial mission over Europe in 1944 when it happened.
When I was about 3 or 4 I went to this ballerina school I learnt kinda how to tap dance and seeing this video makes me remember wonderful memories of tap dancing 💃

very cool vid, (and have found the third song of ed 's I like) oddly enough many U.S. soldiers from the southern states, when they got to northern Ireland and England could do a ton of those irish steps, well them and Bostonians.
That was Professionally done Ms. Redlich! I know when this was filmed... I didn't make it this year to see the re-enactment but I'm glad you brought us some and Of Course Your Beautiful Dancing!!!
had to read the comments first before i found out that THIS ISN'T THE OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO (Though I did think that it was awfully short for an official mv). Great job! I love how the tapping compliments the music. everytime this song plays in my head I would always hear the tapping as well. It completes the song so well
So beautiful & magnificent sound! Sometimes when I watch feis competitions I understsnd that it is very hard to dance so high maintenances steps & i wonder how they can do all this tricks, but I really don't feel harmony and joy that i can feel watching Hannah's perfomances.
I am a Veteran, I have watched this video many times and I appreciate it immensely. Some gave all, all gave some!
Someone needs to tweet this at Ed Sheeran

Whenever I watch this I imagine the howling commandos and Peggy and It makes me sad and happy at the same time
Sometimes in the right context, the art of dance can be truly enchanting.
That was awesome. Would love to see a "extended" cut with the full song. So well done and phenomenal dancing.
