Thailand elects Srettha Thavisin as new prime minister

Thailand has elected its new Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, to end the political stalemate following the couuntry's May 14 elections. The 60-year-old property tycoon was nominated for the top job by a coalition led by the Pheu Thai, the party with ties to Thailand's former PM Thaksin Shinawatra.

The PPT is the "realistic" democracy - I admire how they find the solution to conquer unfair election rules. PPT brings hope for the Thai people to recover from a lost decade under the Prayuth regime. MMP is not well prepared to be a government since they failed teamworking though they are good at monitoring. It is never been before that we have both strong government and opposition. Cheers

As a Thai and PTP Voter, I'm very satisfied. Although I don't like many coalition parties, but I understand the roadblock that PTP had to overcome. Where the military-appointed senators took part in a vote.

@@morgetha In my opinion. Move Forward made a big mistake by toying with the monarchy. Its one of those institutions which are just untouchable.
