When I was in Thailand at 2011, the cab driver was telling me about the king but he didn’t call him “the king”. Instead, he called him “my king”. That seemed lovely to me.

They were talking about the late king's son, which is the person in this video, but it seems that you might have mistook it for the king's son's sons. It's a mistake on my part. I do not know much about his sons' as successors but he did pushed them all away and neglected them, not only them but all of us too. He even has lots of wives which is seen as quite bad by all of us since the most of the late kings weren't like this. While his father, the late king, has done many things to improve our lives, this guy has barely done crap for us, only doing small things(Probably didn't even do it himself) and get rewarded for doing so. While he lives in luxurious ways, we are suffering from many things like natural disasters, government overpowering us, and the pandemic. I mean, he's a royalty and that's why he's living such luxurious life but the question still lingers, what about us, his subjects?

When i visited Thailand with family, the Thai people were amazing and way too kind to us. My best memory was a woman who with her dog (formerly a stray) lived and worked next door to where we were staying. The dog had a literal house on the beach (included with warm sea breezes, clean water bowl, and homemade dog food), and the woman had socialized him so well that his calm nature managed to get my little cousins to stop fearing dogs. He was a sweetheart, and she was a fantastic lady who recommended us to a lot of great places. To compare that to how closed off and suppressive the monarchy is, its like night and day.

First of all Buddhism is not some another religion ,just the philosophy, ritual and practice is different but core idea of dharma ,spirituality, yoga and meditation is exactly same.moreover it has all been taken from hindu scriptures, more or less. Even the gautam budha was hindu ,he give his knowledge and wisdom and people made a religion out of it but they all come under a umbrella religion sanatan dharma.
Now lemme tell you about rama, Rama is not just popular in india but many south asian and SEA countries, so not all of us can be wrong about rama. The biggest proof of Rama is the bridge made by him connecting to srilanka . it's been proven that the bridge is man-made and after carbon dating it was found that it's exactly same years old mentioned in scriptures.

As a Thai person, i value king Rama I, Rama V and Rama IX above all the other Kings. King Rama I established the Rattanakosin Kingdom and he could easily be Thailand’s greatest king. King Rama V prevented colonial expansion into the country and modernised the country. King Rama IX reigned for 70 years. He successfully ruled over Thailand from the start of the Cold War into the modern day. Unfortunately, i feel like we wont be able to see any greater kings than them

I think I now understand why the people of Thailand miss their old king, and why the country as a whole really dislike him. I've always heard stories about him from Thai people but this makes me sad for them. I hope he becomes wiser in his older age and serves the people of Thailand with dignity and grace.

I went to Bangkok for a week last 2017 and it was during the time when the entire country was in mourning because of the death of the king. Everyone really loved him, every tour guide we had would somehow find a way to point out some facts or location relevant to him. It was just so obvious how loved he was. I was surprised to find out that the son inherited pretty much none of that love lmao.
He’s only loved because they are getting taught since they were kids that he is the saint for us Thais and the most benevolent person on earth. In short, propaganda. I would say USED TO love him. Recently as there are a lot of people in Thailand who tried to exposed what the previous king (his father) did in the past and it turned out everything he did for the country was fake through manipulation of media since there can be no one in Thailand who can oppose Royalties' order. As of right now they tried to exposed Thai royal via social media such as facebook and twitter (because this is the only way their post will not be deleted since Thailand doesn't have any power on any social media platform) and you know what happen? Thai royal was sending letter to Mark Zuckerberg saying they will try everything they can to sue or shut down facebook if they don't delete post that relevant to previous/present kings but this news probably only published in Thailand but it shows you how crazy and power driven they are.

Just a story... When we were travelling in Thailand, I was surprised that the picture of the late King Bhumibol was scattered around Thailand... At first I thought that he was the current king. I researched about him and found out that King Bhumibol is already dead and his son King Rama X was their current king. I was confused about on how they loved their previous king than King Rama. Until I actually asked one of the locals (our van driver) why King Bhumibol's picture was seen throughout the whole country and why they don't post King Rama X' photo... He said that King Bhumibol was the best king they ever had. He changed Thailand and made a huge difference. Then, I asked how their current king was doing. He said "Honestly, I dont think he deserves to be a king.. I was dissapointed on how he just acted. We have a law that we shall not say any negative things about the administration. It's sad that he and his father was completely opposite." And what he said just shocked me because Thailand has rich culture, very nice people and stunning attraction. I just hope that Thailand would be in better hands. Or atleast King Rama X would be a better model of the future leaders to come...
