    Where I see the biggiest potential for this app is if you are looking for a completely mobile workflow. You could work where and when you'd like, wihtout beeing bound to the neatest outlet.
    You could sculpt in Nomad sculpt or similar, retopo in cozy blanket and texture in procreate or similar. Now we only need a tool for UVs, baking and rendering (maybe they do exist already, I think I've seen a demo of octane renderer tunning on the iPhone at some point). That seems super excitong too me and while I don't have an iPad, having the entire workflow available seems like a pretty big selling point to me

      That's definitely true. We're slowly getting closer and closer to a full mobile workflow. We're not there yet but we're well on our way! That is definitely an exciting prospect!
      A complete rendering solution might be further away though. Without any active cooling a device like the iPad would either fry itself or heavily throttle to prevent that. :D :D

      A good uv tool is essential to closing the all mobile workflow loop. And hope it comes from somewhere soon

    what was the program that you were using at 6:20 in the video?

    • @marvelousdecay
      @marvelousdecay  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's called Shapr3D. I have a few videos about the app on my channel but you can probably check this one out:
      th-cam.com/video/gwA4H9ksiJ4/w-d-xo.html
      I'm comparing it to uMake
      And here's a more extensive view of 3D in the iPad in general
      th-cam.com/video/E_2UpAZYE1A/w-d-xo.html
      Even though it's a couple of years old not much have changed there. So the information is still valid.

    Shame this is ipad only. Would love to use this with Blender on PC.

  • @manart6506
    @manart6506 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like this but it seems too expensive for me… I mean Blender itself is free and this portable retopology app is like 5 times more expensive that what I payed for affinity Photo or Designer for iPad.

    The app looks very nice but from the reviews i have seen is that people cant use it that smoothly yet and also that insane purchase price makes this not for me.

      If the developer keeps refining the app in the coming months we might end up with a gem of an app! I’m staying optimistic.
      And if they also run a couple of promotions their user base will increase a whole lot. Let’s see how it’ll all unfold!

      I’ve just downloaded and tested it, it’s very intuitive and I found that there were some hiccups but I’ve also found the nuance to the solution and approach. I enjoy it quite a bit and will buy it soon

    I tried my best to like it but it’s extremely limited and frustrated me quickly. I really wanted to like it. But to me it’s very unusable.

    • @marvelousdecay
      @marvelousdecay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Things will probably improve in the future. At least that's my hope! What was it in particular that frustrated you? The workflow or software limitations (poly count etc)?

    • @RAYROD
      @RAYROD 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marvelousdecay I think a mix of both. I found myself fighting to get it to work correctly. Deleting polygon faces was very hit or miss. Having to double tap to move points felt very counter productive. Merging was very difficult. Undo felt good but not having a Redo felt like one of the bigger sins. Overall, im really rooting for it and would gladly pay for a mobile way of retopoing. Practicing edge flow while bored traveling sounds amazing to me. Great vid btw!

  • @eksot

    Probably double tap with two fingers to redo it's pretty standard for iOS apps to use.
