- This video discusses the United States Navy’s DMTs, which stands for Dive Medical Technician. Navy DMT’s are Hospital Corpsman that have attended Navy Dive School and the Dive Medical Technician courses, and are stationed and embedded with any unit that has divers. This means that DMT’s can work with SEALs, Recon Marines, MARSOC, DEVGRU, and much more. They are also a part of the Navy’s HM/ATF program, and are one of the three special programs offered to Navy corpsman.

Micklejaxon21 exactly lol I can’t make up my mind between SARC or SAR but it’s definitely one of those two... I’ve saved two people in the past and i became passionate about it... being a SARC or SAR is saving lives but on the front lines

Great vid as always 'gentlemen', they are always apart of a reconassaince team with or utilizing their diving capabilities.
Speaking of which you guys think you could possibly put a video together about the 75th's RRD(C) units sorry I mean the Army's 75th Ranger Regiment's Regimental Reconnaissance Detachment or Companys. Providing you can find enough good info about us. I/We worked with Marines and SEALs, SARCs, etc. along with 'Delta' and Air Force CCTs, JTACs, and PJs.
I suggest it because I've yet to see anything accurate and as in depth as your vids are. Even the Regiment vids just mention them in passing. I mean shit man we have to go to all these different schools just to have a job, I just think you guys could make a good informed video about it.

@@amal-ti2zz varies. When I went through several years ago just about everyone who made it to dive school graduated. Prior to that, we probably lost a little less than half of the initial class in dive prep.

What are the injury rates for DMTs? What are the injury rates for the members in the DMT's unit(s)?
As a DMT, are you responsible for medical training for your unit(s)? Similar to an FMF corpsman and his marines?
As a DMT do you go to active shooting like the corpsman in the movies or are you just water based?

So basically DMTS are some of the most qualified people in the military or world. They are more qualified than almost every special forces group.
I am contracted for HM-ATF and leave for boot in less than a month. How much of a say will I have in choosing the route I take whether it’s SARC, DMT, or SAR. or is it completely not up to me? Thanks guys I love the videos

So I know that the Army had eningeer dive units and a diver MOS 12D. Do these dive teams have DMTs attached and do you know where I can learn more?
ND's need a Video of their own... too many commands consisting of Ships Husbandry, Salvage, SDV, EOD Mobile Units, Dunkers, NSWG & NEDU. NSO/NSW are separate entities as well, both under a NECC.

If you're in the Navy as a DMT, do you have to wait the full 5 years before cross-rating into something like the SO program? Ive heard from many people that in most rates, you only have to wait 2 years before putting in a chit to cross over. Is it the same for DMT or is it a required 5 years?
Your ECM most likely won't let you go until you fulfill your commitment. You're better off not becoming a DMT as a stepping stone to BUD/S.

I don't know if y'all will see this, but there seems to be a lot of overlap between SARC and DMTs. Is it just that DMT also dive with non-combat arms like ND and sometimes dive with combat arms like Recon and MARSOC?
To be a SARC, you do DMT. I know that because im doing it. Also 3 years late 😂

There isn't a "best" one. It's whatever one you think is best for YOU

They'd still be a DMT, they'd just have the L03A as well. They'd be filling a DMT billet.

a little late to reply, but i know someone that joined at 31 and went to dive prep.
age waivers are easier to obtain than other waivers.
im 30, and have a 34 y/o buddy here at prep as well, but we’ve been in for a few years. anything is possible if you ask the right person.

You can but typically you were a DMT on active duty and then transferred to the reserves.
