I've been binge watching your channel since I found it about 3 weeks ago. This is the first play along I've done and I got 21,282! Probably spent 15 minutes in Kentucky looking, but not bad!
Two years down the line, that Senegal guess is significantly easier, because the view got completely updated and now it as a huge "BIENVENUE A THIES" sign.
I had it one time where I was playing battle royale and I spawned on a street where I had taken a bus on a couple weeks prior. Only time I’d ever seen in any geoguessr footage of a place I knew, freaked me out
First of all, I must say that I am always impressed by your ability to recognize and name a wide variety of car models. In the Russia round, the banners apparently were marking the city’s 432nd year and the city’s name started with "ТЮ". But since the banner showed a sailboat, I looked only along the coasts and did not find it. In the US, I thought I was seeing Ohio license plates, but I was mistaken. In the end, you bested me by 219 points.
Awesome, perfect score! Get in! Here's a short run-through: Round 1: There was another sign below the hotel one that had the city name and address on it, I also tried looking for Caqueta first. Round 2: The city name was written on the small flags by the road, and there was also a street sign on one of the buildings. Knowing cyrillic helped quite a bit. Round 3: I think I've had this round before (not sure), but there were street names visible again and Sicily doesn't have that many bigger cities so it was pretty straightforward. Round 4: This was by far the hardest one, I had a feeling it was somewhere around the Midwest. Luckily the layout and street naming conventions in US cities made it a bit easier to match up than you might think at first, so I found it eventually. Round 5: I knew it was Senegal, and I just tried to find a bigger road with a bend and a Shell station. Got lucky and it was in the second city I went for. The whole thing took me 1 hour and 44 minutes (including lunch and bathroom breaks).
I love the Play Alongs ! It's an opportunity for me to play more than once a day, and against GeoWizard himself ! Keep up the good work, cheers from France :)
Round 1: 5000. I saw [...]col on a sign and figured Colombia (idk american plate colours), looked for some town with mountains to the west, randomly zoomed on Florencia after a while which I had seen on the sign. Round 2: 5000. Noticed Тюмeнь written on the pole ribbon, zoomed into Russia and found the city. With 2 blurry street signs I eventually found the right location. Round 3: 5000. Sign for Sicily, assumed Catania, confirmed by finding one of the hotels when zooming in. Found the blurry streetname on the house number, looked around until I found the little square that fit. Round 4: 3370. American flags, obviously the USA, had no clue where, saw the sign for "Erdmann Corporation" so I went somewhere I thought had german influence, Pittsburgh. 555km away, oh well, didn't even try to find the streetname. Round 5: 4800. Africa, french, Senegal. Road had a particular shape with the gas station, tried some cities but didn't find it, in the end I went in Dakar. I just didn't look hard enough in Thies, this one was 5k-able with a bit more effort (the "Oasis 2" hotel even showed up on the map), oh well. Total score: 23170. Hi Tom Just want to say thanks for the uploads and the great content. Been through a hell of a lot the past few months and your videos have really made me forget about the bad things in life and calmed me down.
OMG thanks for this game!! First time ever I beat you. 22.378. 1. I was lucky. Didn't know it was Columbia, searched for Caquete or Florencia in Middle America and Mexico, found Florencia, clicked on Calle 16, luckily 106 m away - 5000 points! 2. Thanks to me learning Russian it was not that hard. The city name Tyumen was actually on all the colourful "438"-signs on the street. Russia does this relatively often, spelling the city name proudly on signs. Found the Street name and number from the store and got 5000 again. 3. Figured it was Catania, found only one hotel but the street on the sign "Vitt. Emmanuele". Found a square of that shape, actually 0m and a perfect score again - Couldn't believe it! 4. Had no idea, clicked in Iowa bc it's somewhat in the middle - 2492. 5. Figured it was Senegal for sure, clicked close to Dakar - 4886. Watching your videos made inspired me to play this wonderful game and made me better over time. Though this is still an exceptionally high score for me! Thank you for your channel, I love your videos so so much and I will not stop watching them :D
Thanks for the challenge, Tom! I managed to get 22,675 points, which I was very pleased with. Here's a more detailed log of my rounds for anyone who might be interested: Round 1: The yellow plates were a clear Colombia, and after a bit of searching on the map I found Florencia, which I had seen on a sign. From then on it was just down to looking for Calle 16 (of which there were several). Unfortunately none of the business names I could see were marked on the map, so I ended up 497m away. Which I was very happy with of course. Round 2: I nearly gave up hope on this one, because the language was indeed Russian, but on the little green and blue and red banners on the street lamps it said "Тюмень" (Tyumen). Then there was a sign that said "Ulica Respubliki", which was quite easy to find in Tyumen. I was 2km away because I got impatient (Ulica Respubliki is a really long road :). Round 3: The "Top Sicily" was a hint that it was Sicily, but unfortunately I couldn't find any of the places marked on the sign in any of the major Sicilian cities, so I ended up guessing in Syracuse, 51km away. Round 4: I know nothing about US license plates, so I just went for somewhere near DC and Baltimore. 779km. Round 5: The French made it clear that it was Senegal, so I searched for a bigger east-west oriented road in Dakar with a Shell gas station, couldn't find any, tried Thies, and found one. 2.5km.
Some tips how to guess Russian urban quicker (as russian): 1. The more russian cars you see, the closer you are to the center of Russia (Urals). European side has more wealthy cars 2. This yellow surroundings on each road sign are also only in russia 3. This garland thingies on the lamp posts 4. Also in Ukraine there are multiple thin white stripes before the crosswalk to pay drivers attention by vibrating, and in RF - it's not 5. In russian cities there are a lot of waist-high fences along the sidewalks (in Ukr - not) Thx for your videos!
My third time ever playing along - Round 1 was surprisingly easy once I checked the map of Columbia (yellow plates) and found that Florencia was indeed a city! Spent 5-10mins scouring it for the right spot but couldn't see it. Got 4,922 points! - Round 2 I got Russia immediately (CTON stop sign) but had nothing else to go on, felt like a St Petersburg vibe so went with it but never expected Tyumen... didn't even know it existed!! Got 1,172 points - Round 3 OMG so I've been to Sicily and recognised Maganelli as being in Catania, so when I checked the University I found Il Principe and Palace Maganelli! After desperately looking for MOAK cafe and Top Sicily restaurant for at least 10 minutes and gave up, chucked the pin on the corner I thought looked most like it and BAM, 6yd, 5000 points!!! I'm amazed, never gotten a proper 5k guess like that before on a hard map! - Round 4 I was stumped, got Georgie vibes so chucked the pin in Savannah and got 2,842 points - Round 5 I had the most insane guess of my life... saw the rift and thought Senegal, they're a former French colony, went to Dakar but thought nah this is a Thies guess, and amazingly I was ony 2.2 miles away, so I got 4,987 points!! - My final score was 18,993 points meaning I actually beat Tom!!! I'm so hyped!
have been watching you since the early days, and its taken me this long to do a play along!! From one black country bloke to another, keep up the bostin job me mon!!!
@@HanduBananu wow, you're mad! Even with that hint it took me a few minutes. Are you watching in 4k? I can barely make it out even when I know it's there.
@@andrejbogdanov2816 in the play along . . . I played the game before Tom did using the link in the description. That is the entire point of his play along games. So I was able to zoom in on whatever I wanted.
Took me hours, but I managed to pinpoint the exact location of the first place in Colombia. I've never played Geoguessr before and I feel proud. There was a guy fixing a cab. Those taxis are found in Colombia. The guys were offloading cement, but there was no building site nearby, so it must be a construction store. In the distance was a lone skyrise, which would be either a hotel or a hospital. And most importantly what tied it all together was the address on the Driwall sign. Carrera 9 Calle 16. I understand the excitement of this game now. Edit : In the end, got 22345 points. There wasn't really a lot to go by in the America map.
Happy that I managed to beat Tom on this one, but the main reason was my perfect score on the Russia round :) 1) Didn't see the 'Center Florencia' sign - went for Bogota. 2) Somehow spotted the name of the city written on some of the street poles, then it was easy to find the correct place. 3) Couldn't read the name of the town on the building, so had to choose between Catania and Palermo. Of course, went for the wrong one.. 4) Not much of an idea where in the US was I, so finally went for Cleveland. Not so bad pick, tbh. 5) Easily distinguished Senegal, but as there were no signs of the city I went a bit eastern from Dakar. p.s. Tom's humour is just amazing, as is his idea to put national music while searching!
Omg I’ve watched tons of your videos and could have never gotten close on any guess, but I would’ve gotten a perfect score on the Louisville location! My company did a roof on Madison street about a month ago and I new exactly where this was! I feel so honored hahaha
I'm ecstatic that for my first play along, I actually got a better score at 19,040! I got pretty luck with Senegal and Chicago, but I was really proud to have gotten the Russia one almost perfect! (I spotted the city name on the flags on the poles along the road). Thanks for a great game :)
Round 1: Zoomed in on the map looking for Caqueta and coincidently found Florencia. Saw what looked to be Calle 16 and found the right spot. Then moved to a different one. (4,997) Round 2: I’m really bad with Russia but it didn’t look developed enough to be Moscow so I hedged on Yekaterinburg, which I’ve had a couple of times recently. (4,036) Round 3: Immediately saw the Sicily sign and kept debating between Palermo and Catania, but the road angles looked better in Catania. Went along Via Vittorio Emmanuele II (4,997) Round 4: Saw the license plates and thought Minnesota. Spent six minutes searching around Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Gave up and clicked in a random spot near Minneapolis. (2,511) Round 5: Thought it looked too desert-like and not developed enough for Dakar. Decided to go for Theis and quickly guessed after finding a spot that correlated and luckily it was right! (5,000) Total: 21,541 and a shocking victory over the Wizard.
wow, I'm fairly new to the game and got 13,061... That was fun! I liked to study your detective skills to improve my gameplay against friends. Thanks for the content Mr. GeoWizard!
There is a Madison in Chicago. It is the street that divides Chicago into north and south, so it runs east/west. The center of downtown Chicago is at State and Madison. They are both 0 blocks (they will sometimes be 1 N, 1 S, 1 E, or 1 W) so the intersection of State and Madison is 0 N/S, 0 E/W. That would be your best way of telling if you're in the outskirts of Chicago.
I got 17259 this time, first time I even got within 5000 points, let alone less than 2000 points of the wizard, so I'm quite satisfied. Round 1 (4223): Saw the yellow plates as well, didn't bother to look for Florencia as well. I looked at the terrain and it's hilly on the North side, so I went for Cali. Round 2 (574): Didn't think it's Russia given the modernness of the buses. Went for Bulgaria and got trashed. Round 3 (4821): After seeing Sicily as the only clue, I tried to guess the direction of the coast as well (Glad that we had the same thinking pattern!), but I thought the South is lower in terrain so I went for Syracuse, which has a longer Southern coast. Round 4 (2678): After determining US with Madison, I thought it looked fairly Northern... And I saw a black guy in a suburb, so I went Rochester, NY suburbs with its larger wealthy black population. Apparently uptown Louisville looks like suburbs. Round 5 (4953): Thought it would be too sparsely populated for Dakar, so I went for Pout, west of Thies. Again overestimated the density of city centres.
Weird thing happened when I played this game, on the Italy round, the lorry on the east wasn't there, so I could easily figure out that we were a few blocks away from to the sea. But on your game there is a lorry blocking the view (10 mins 30s).
My score was 11 355 points. As a first timer, I'm quite surprised and happy I got above 10k points. Thanks to the tips and past videos I watched from Tom.
Look at the light pole banners in Russia. There's one just north of the car that says "Тюмень" on it. And once you look in Tyumen you can find a street whose name matches the blurred street sign. From there the exact spot is fairly evident.
I played along but I'm absolutely shit at geography lol. Only very recently have I tried to get better at it. Round 1: I guessed Uruguay (224 points). I didn't spend too much time looking since I know there'd be no point cuz idk enough stuff yet. Round 2: I guessed Russia, Kukushtan (3,388 points). I felt like it was probably Russia because of the alphabet and the green buses possibly. I feel like I've seen green buses in Bald and Bankrupt's videos so I just went with Russia. Apart from that, I had no clue where we were in Russia so I was really worried I'd get a bad score since it's a massive continent, but I'm happy with 3,388 points! Round 3: I guessed Italy, Sicily because of the language but also because of the sign that said "TOPSICILY". I also saw a sign that said Via Vitt Emanuel, and I zoomed in on Sicily and saw a place called Vittoria so I went with that since it made the most sense. We were actually in Catania, but I still got 4739 points so I'm happy with that! :) Round 4: USA, Colorado. I didn't spend too much time looking on this one because there weren't too many clues (for me personally) and it's the USA xD It's bloody massive. I only got 1510 points on this round and I was 1046 miles away xD. Round 5: I guessed Senegal because of the French. However, I was 92 miles away so I got 4501 points. I'm actually pretty happy with that. :) Overall, I got 14,362 points which is ok I guess. It's not amazing but considering I'm terrible at geography, I don't think it's too bad.
It pays off learning the Cyrillic alphabet, you could see instantly on one of the flags by the road that the city was Tyumen and signs indicating you were on Ulitsa Respubliki with the next road up ahead being Ulitsa Odesskaya. Now I don't know much of what anything that I'm reading means but just being able to read it out loud and match it with the English version makes all the former soviet countries that much easier to navigate.
hahahahhaa ''I'ts 21st century we're meant to do the cooking'' 'but I love my oven i want to cook'. I absolutely love when he takes the piss out of people
24069. A 25k-able game if you know your US license plates, which I don't :( The names Florencia and Tyumen were both visible, and the Thies junction wasn't hard to find.
Omg first time I beat Tom! Round 1 - Saw the Center Florencia sign, and Calle 16, deducted the exact spot with the streets around - 5,000 points Round 2 - Saw on the little flags the name which I thought resembled "Tomehb", found it on the map after extensive search, clicked somewhere in that city - 4,990 points Round 3 - Same reasoning as Tom, found Manganelli square and then the hotel of the same name, went just East of that and found the green patch - 5,000 points Round 4 - I went Philadelphia... don't ask why, at least I got the right country - 2,565 points Round 5 - Went Dakar as well - 4,811 points Total: 22,366 points yay!

I liked how tom showed us the funny side of him in this video, not the super focused up Tom. I liked the personality!
This is a really cool skill Tom, straight line missions are bang on too! Keep on pal.
This was my 3rd time playing geoguesser and i got 17 300!! Thanks for the videos! they really help teach geography
Really enjoy this series Tom. Just fun to see you as yourself with no worries. Also like playing along
Just wanted to say I love this channel. Keep up the great work.
Please never stop making videos. Your commentary is hilarious.
2nd round I spotted the cyrillic for Tyumen on one of the banners. . . it is so rare I recognize any of that stuff
Where?
@@andrejbogdanov2816 green banners on light polls
@@HanduBananu wow, you're mad! Even with that hint it took me a few minutes. Are you watching in 4k? I can barely make it out even when I know it's there.
@@andrejbogdanov2816 in the play along . . . I played the game before Tom did using the link in the description. That is the entire point of his play along games. So I was able to zoom in on whatever I wanted.
Great format, Tom! Love this map, love urban locations. Hope you do this again. It was very fun to try it myself and then watch your attempt.
Recognized that Sicily found instantly from a previous video I watched a couple weeks ago, same exact spot!
lets go bro I get so excited when I see you post a no moving video, love them and your vibes
i love how you make up stories for every person you see, keep up the good work.
"is that a cock?" Lol died laughing 😂
I'm nowhere near as good as you at this game, but just wanted to comment that I love the play along vids. Super fun
Dude, you missed the "Center Florencia" on the Drywall sign.
Yeah, I am surprised as well. I got 5k.
got 4997 on that one, only reason i did not get shit on by Tom in this challenge 😂
Or the Police Station just down the road. You could see the cop car and a couple of cops.
@@philphish He isn't moving though.
what do you want him to do about it now?
6:35 neither can Putin, so no worries.
HAHAHAHAHAHAH

not funny, didn't laugh
Aye u hit that hotel panorama note no cap 😂😂
He literally started singing it within 1 second of the image loading in too 😂
my thoughts exactly haha i was like woah that was pretty good
Took me hours, but I managed to pinpoint the exact location of the first place in Colombia.
What is there to dislike about this this guy his channel or this video. Should have zero dislikes all the time
There’s a 100:1 like ratio lol
13:47 bro wants 20k when he got 14k on final round :(
well he is on another level
I wouldn't be surprised if he got 6k tbh
Hey mate! Greetings from Argentina!
Great channel.
I just upgrade my GeoGuessr to Pro.
I love it.
The 3rd round in Catania, Sicily is literally the same junction as in Urban World #9 4th round.
The coincidence!!!
Happy that I managed to beat Tom on this one, but the main reason was my perfect score on the Russia round :)
1) Didn't see the 'Center Florencia' sign - went for Bogota.
Has 14 099 points in the last round. "I'd like to get to 20 after that start" Good math Tom
Round 1: Zoomed in on the map looking for Caqueta and coincidently found Florencia. Saw what looked to be Calle 16 and found the right spot. Then moved to a different one. (4,997)
Round 2: I’m really bad with Russia but it didn’t look developed enough to be Moscow so I hedged on Yekaterinburg, which I’ve had a couple of times recently. (4,036)
Round 3: Immediately saw the Sicily sign and kept debating between Palermo and Catania, but the road angles looked better in Catania. Went along Via Vittorio Emmanuele II (4,997)
Round 4: Saw the license plates and thought Minnesota. Spent six minutes searching around Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Gave up and clicked in a random spot near Minneapolis. (2,511)
Round 5: Thought it looked too desert-like and not developed enough for Dakar. Decided to go for Theis and quickly guessed after finding a spot that correlated and luckily it was right! (5,000)
Total: 21,541 and a shocking victory over the Wizard.
7:30
that's the 1st thing my eyes landed on
but i thought you wouldn't pay attention to that
that reaction absolutely killed me :D
wow, I'm fairly new to the game and got 13,061... That was fun! I liked to study your detective skills to improve my gameplay against friends. Thanks for the content Mr. GeoWizard!
Love the banter-- keep that shit up!
Edit: I had you slightly beat the whole way up until the last round! Damn!
"If I could get 20,000, I'd be pleased with that..." **Round 5/5 with 14k points**
I love these play along videos. Please do more!!
4:09 is the chord progression for hotel California lol, idk if you planned that Tom but good one if you did
Happy to beat you finally (20,583).
Tyumen was written on a pennant on a lamppost, it's amazing how often the city name is written on pennants !
Round 4: USA, Colorado.
Overall, I got 14,362 points which is ok I guess. It's not amazing but considering I'm terrible at geography, I don't think it's too bad.
Tom you look happy man! Good stuff
I love that you casually guessed Catania from a word on the wall that didn't actually say Catania lol Classic Tom!
as a matter of fact, I just checked the location and it didn't say Catania on any of those buildings/signs, wow
Imagine being that one dislike. THE AUDACITY
D:
THERE’S THREE NOW
@@heyinc4692 DEAR GOD
Who tf would dislike Tom?
5 now. Probably the woman that had her oven stolen and her friends.
Hello, my newest addiction 😻
I love the play alongs. Keep up the good work!
thankfully I wasn't the only one who wasted 5 minutes looking for Caqueta
hahahahhaa ''I'ts 21st century we're meant to do the cooking'' 'but I love my oven i want to cook'. I absolutely love when he takes the piss out of people
Didn't think I'd be hearing the words bellend and foreskin when I clicked on this video... I'm all for it though
Urban World is my favorite among Geoguessr games. It's fun to learn about new cities across the world.
shoutout Louisville! I'm from there so it was super cool to know exactly where that round was lol
You got the same Catania location 2 years ago, in the 9th episode of this series!
it seems, that he got back to the manchester dealer to get some "medicine" xD Nice round ^^
What was that face you did at the end there in the fade out?? Legendary :D
Posing!
I absolutely have no reason to be obssessed with these videos
Oh there are plenty of reasons Jay!
You are so right evan!
You have a really good mood in this video

Tom: "A British car? A Range Rover?!"
Me: "A CHEVY!? Who in the right mind wants to import a Chevy?"
24069. A 25k-able game if you know your US license plates, which I don't :( The names Florencia and Tyumen were both visible, and the Thies junction wasn't hard to find.
I got 19,225 points. I'm proud i beat you man :,). Gonna write this date down to remember this unique day!
Omg first time I beat Tom!
Round 1 - Saw the Center Florencia sign, and Calle 16, deducted the exact spot with the streets around - 5,000 points
Round 2 - Saw on the little flags the name which I thought resembled "Tomehb", found it on the map after extensive search, clicked somewhere in that city - 4,990 points
Round 3 - Same reasoning as Tom, found Manganelli square and then the hotel of the same name, went just East of that and found the green patch - 5,000 points
Round 4 - I went Philadelphia... don't ask why, at least I got the right country - 2,565 points
Round 5 - Went Dakar as well - 4,811 points
Total: 22,366 points yay!
hahahaha i loved the vid, had good laughs, keep the funny stuff up!
