We have been testing here in ohio in 20 degree weather and making some similar changes with weight bars/ballast. Kinda cool to see you doing the same down there.
LoL the last time my car was out in 20 degree weather it was stock, I couldn't imagine trying to no prep or run on the street being that cold I dont even think it's been under 30 in Alabama
I hope one day y'all do a Collaboration and race heads up two badass low budget backyard built race cars by yourselves doing your own work I love it cuz we do the same thing here in VA I hope that I'm either at the same race or get to race you guys one day
Much respect on the free knowledge. Gone through a good portion of your videos up to the no prep race. You share a lot of information that most guys hold very close to the vest. This is supposed to be fun!!! A lot of racers have forgotten that.
Hey John. Just wanted to let you know how much l love watching your videos. I like your philosophy of doing more with less and how informative your videos are. You prove that you don't have to through a bunch of money at your car to be competitive. Keep up the great work!👍
I would maybe make a safety cable or chain for those weights, my eyeball engineering thinks that’s a lot of weight and vibration, even with excellent T welds to another tube that’s some good leverage and might break off. Just my 2 cents, anyhow love videos man! Good content! Thanks
You could always drill a small hole in in your new weight mount pin close to the diff housing and fit safety cables to prevent them becoming high speed projectiles if tyre shake ever breaks the welds, keep up the videos 🇦🇺
Interested to see how this works out. I don’t have as much adjustability as you on bar angles so my angles are about what you ended up with in the end. My car does decent on no prep but have been thinking a higher longer ic with antisquat in the 120-130 range would be ideal on no prep. Love the channel brother.
did a frame notch on mine & mini tubed it. My 28x10.5W can get under it , did plan ahead and made it possible for the car to run from a 275/60 up to a 29.5/10.5w. You never know what the future will bring and I wanted to make sure I could fit into as many classes as possible.
Told ya Billy and his dad Bill are great people💯💯 I got weight on the rear housing on my car. When I made the change put the weight on the housing I could tell a difference right off the rip.
When ever I do no prep stuff or run on the street I run Hoosier D05 compound 28s and the Do7 compound for normal prepped stuff. You got alot more car than me lol but no prep stuff in the 5.40-60 range and 3250 pounds the d05 compound works really good on my car 4th gen f body with basically everything BMR makes and viking coil overs out back and old qa1s up front but they move around ALOT on the big end every time my car is really getting down I throw the chute ASAP the DO7 compound is alot more stable on my setup. Iv been told that my car is to heavy for that soft of a tire, I really dont kno lol, I barely kno how to keep it goin straight and running. It took me a good while to figure out how to no prep but so far my PB is a 5.56 @ 122mph it might have went a few more mph but like I said I grab the shoot asap. I know you will figure it if my GED having ass did!! LOL
@@TurboJohnRacing I got a question for you I made a post on turbo bullet asking about my plan to go to m1 on my car no good replies only people bein sarcastic and tellin me ot wont work with no explanation. my plan is ditch the air to water and swap over to billet atomizer 325s when I get my income tax return my plan was to keep my meth injection set up (fuel solenoid with nx shark nozzle) but move it as close as I can to the turbo and when I do get it on the street for class cruises and what not fun the e90 that I'm currently on and when it's time to party throw the methanol in it. I was told I would not be able to get the car to idle with billet atomizers and ethanol I dont understand why but I would love to hear your opinion I'm pretty surr I got plenty of fuel pump to support the power my car will make, and lastly what's the deal with m5 I kno I'm uneducated but m3 or m5 seems like the way to go, Iv been reading, asking questions and trying to learn all I can I guess I'm just slow or something idk lol
How do you take the measurements? My car is so low I don’t fit under there. A drive on ramp? But then you won’t be able to use the bobby pin to figure the uppers cause there is not ground in between the drive on ramp. Also in order to lower or raise the point on the lower control arm wouldn’t the length have to be adjusted? So you would need adjustable control arms no matter what? Also since the adjustment is straight up and down and not circular curved wouldn’t it change the pinion angle? I’m so confused now my mind done tornado’d it’s self. Please, I’m trying to understand
John, I really like your videos. Thanks for sharing your budget race car knowledge. I’m ready to take my car (89 hatch) to the next level. Would you be willing to consult with me on some suspension advice?
I’m sitting in a tree stand with my bow and wearing my ear buds freezing my ass off watching turbo John , god knows how many deer 🦌 have walked by or hung out below me .
Turbo John sorry just seen this. I was planing on early Friday but not it will be late Friday. My buddy can’t leave until around 5 or so. Well really seeing you work so hard makes me feel like I should try a little harder! LOL I can’t wait.
Maybe you will have luck with it but that down hill on the lower control arm will make them bounce as it drives the body down on the launch as it pushes forward. We have never had any luck with that.
hi dude new here. Im doing no prep in the uk, one of my local places has really bad traction, am i best putting more weight in the back ? Also keep suspention soft? its an IRS back end
Turbo John make sure after this No Prep race that you make a few passes on the Hoosiers on Radial Prep and let us viewers know how you like the new tires compared to the old tires on Radial Prep
Are you racing at 710 Sunday? I'm actually from Pembroke but moved to NY. I stumbled on your channel by accident. I thought I recognized a track you were at so I subscribed. Was hoping you would put that race I'm hearing so much about this weekend
@@TurboJohnRacing I had just watched a video called The wonderful welds of Sema before I watched your video. Your welds are better than some of those in the video. No joke.
Haha I don’t have nice paint either, and if I did have a beautiful paint job on my car I would hate it, some people are really anal about their paint! But hey paint don’t make you faster
John, I'm thinking you could put studs in your carrier cover and make a bracket that goes over your weight studs to have it supported on both ends. Then you wouldn't have to worry about it as much.

Nice, I cannot imagine testing in 20 deg weather! Hope I’m going the same way you are with the changes, lol. Drive safe coming down!
Two great guys collaborating! Love watching you both become successful

Good luck john too bad you couldn't get testing in before the race

Did it work better ?
What Hoosier tire is that?
Just wondering..isn't Mexico close by your location?? A quick Hit or 2 ..
I normally like to do one change at a time, but I’m out of time to test!
What wheels are you running on the rear?
You definitely are putting in work for this race! LOL can’t wait to meet you in person.
Going to be fun. When are y’all coming down?

Got to hit it in the street.. to see what it really gone do..😁
I learned so much watching your videos thanks .....what program is that for suspension
Baseline Suspensions, general instant center calculator
Rose bud welds look good
Keep up the great content thanks for everything
Thanks

At 1:30 I thought he was gonna say he was talking to his buddy Jr.bacon🥓 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀
What is your final pinion angle? And did it change it from your original angle?
No, still down a couple degrees
Hey mr turbo John what a good shock how much does a good set of coil over costs
I like qa1’s, and strange if on a budget
The weight you added to the rear subframe is Unsprung weight right?
That is sprung
Weights look good
Very informative. I’ve watch McAmis do a bunch of cussin and not explain as well as you have. Thank you.
Thanks, lol. I love his vids!
I would just change the tires and see what it does before any other adjustments

Yes, it’s on Saturday. Gonna be a blast
Does it need to be on jack stands for this
Ride height, all four wheels on the ground and race ready weight with driver in seat.
Ok thanks
Good video
Thanks
you need some lead weight
What calculator did you use to get that data
Baseline suspension general instant center calculator
@@TurboJohnRacing nice
With those welds your car would fit in nice at SEMA.
Thanks, dick! I’m sure you have the baddest of the bad!

well, we all know who got an A in Geometry class!
LOL
Math is your friend. 😁👍
You are shocking the tire now. When you change it, it'll try to pick the front up.
Haha I don’t have nice paint either, and if I did have a beautiful paint job on my car I would hate it, some people are really anal about their paint! But hey paint don’t make you faster
👍
Since you gonna change the tires now is the time to check the rear brakes. Kill two birds with one stone. Jt . good luck.
Yep, they looked good!
