Broken door handle tear down

Broken door handle tear down. When we moved into this house I changed all the door handles from round ones to lever action. They have lasted about 9 years and some of them are now failing, probably through rather enthusiastic use by our grandchildren. I had a few left over from the original bulk purchase so I have replaced the broken ones and decided to look inside to see what has broken.

Just buy new door handles. If they break as quickly as these did, then you are better off without them.
