Thanks to watching your channel (and a few others), I have gone from only partially filling a 12 slot watch case a year ago, to needing to buy a sixth case last month. I have found that no matter how interesting the watch may be, the larger and heavier it is, the less likely it will get worn.
This watch is called "Hammerhead" because it can be used for striking nails. It's beautiful, tough. Thanks, Jody, for yet another professional and entertaining review.
I already have 2 Bronze Hammerheads with Seiko movements on order! Not sure how fragile a paper thin slice of rock would be so I avoided meteorite dial. I didn't order them from your current review as I made my order over week ago, but I *trusted* them enough to order because of your prior reviews.
I love the hammerhead big chunky thick it’s the whole Godzilla thing while I don’t like an enormous gaudy invicta these are ‘tasteful’ five stars to Zelos cheers elshan
Zelos are up there with the very best of the microbrands. I've got the bronze Seiko NH35 with the forged carbon dial and I love it. The movement in mine is a gem (I always think its the 'make or break' with a watch) and after ten days this is giving +2 seconds per day. It's big, it's heavy - but they haven't kept that a secret (and your review doesn't shy away from it either). It's a great alternative to the million submariner homages that you can get. It's not one for every day but I've stuck a vintage, thick brown horween strap on it and it looks great ( I've got 7 ¼ inch wrist). My third Zelos and won't be my last!
I'm glad you pointed out the clasp issue, Jody. I had the issue with the Swordfish and I was so happy to get the replacement clasp, for free, that I didn't have the heart to complain about it.
Been thinking Zelos for awhile and this one looks good for my 8 and a quarter wrist! But I don’t dive and really I can get an NH35 in a lot of models these days and of course the ETA is always a good deal as well. This would be purely a show watch and at the moment I don’t need one of them.Keep up the good work Zelos and another honest review!! Thanks for that
Just wanted to thank you for your excellent channel. Due to your large and varied reviews of micro brands I have purchased two Zelos bronze. First was the blue meteorite swordfish then followed with the teal swordfish. Both with the Seiko NH35. Couldn't be more pleased and have become my favorite brand. Keep up the great content and I will be looking for my next new microbrand purchase in 2020.
Nice review. I recently got 2 of the Steel versions, both ETAs, a silver and a teal. I have the same problem with the clasp. The swingarm is much longer and makes almost a right angle where it ends. Just to let everyone know, the casebacks on the 2 I received are not sterile. It has engraving around the display glass.
I am a huge wrist guy But can not justify the 18 mm height and 240 gram on my wrist. Looking Good . But i have already learned my lesson in hard way on other purchase. Very good video Jody.
i totally agree with you, even if you have a big wrist that could pull it off, do you really want to? i bought big chunky watches and you know where it is? in the drawer, cant really wear it without looking like flava flav with a clock on my wrist.
Nice video as always. I appreciate you still pointing out the few weaknesses that these brands still have. I've ordered my ETA bronze forged carbon and the additional canvas and leather strap, but I recognize that some customers were disappointed that the thick Horween straps aren't included as in other models. The only note I'd make as you also call out is that while the short lug to lug make it reasonable even on smaller wrists, the weight nonetheless has impact to the wear of the watch, and the while the excellent bracelet helps distribute the weight for the stainless, it will be noticeable on the bronze (I already have a HH version 1).
Definitely different. These Hammerheads are not for the weary. Unfortunately, my 6 3/4 wrist would not be able to handle the crushing weight :-). I have already had a broken wrist when I was a kid. Great review. Obviously, Zelos makes quality time pieces and they have a strong following which they can thank you for. Have a great New Year and keep those vids coming.
I have so much fun with your videos - I pause them when my wife wants to talk and I try to hit pause with your eyes closed, mouth open or finger in the air for the free watch alert - just sport but it's winter now and I need any trick I can find to get through to spring. May you and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
BTW, how does the metrorite bezel insert hold up? Is it scratch resistent like ceramic? Also will the bezel insert end up cracking if it gets banged up by mistake?
I'm on a state pension now, spent all my spare cash on watches and acoustic guitars. That is a serious diver's watch, not really intended for posing in but working at saturation levels of diving with specialist air mixtures. You lucky boy Jody..............
Well, Jody, this is a first!! I actually have a watch already on my wrist before you had a chance to review it! I actually like the size and the weight - you really KNOW that you are wearing a watch! It's brilliant! (oh, by the way.... it's my 7th Zelos)
I had ordered one but cancelled it when the first wrist shots appeared in the FB group. It's ridiculously big. Got the 40 mm. Ventus Nothstar in brass/green instead and also ordered the new Mako 3. I had a Seiko baby Tuna in the past and after a while it became pretty annoying to carry more than a 1/2 Lbs. of watch on your wrist. I have also a 7" wrist and 40-41 mm. is more than enough for me these days.
As usual. can get smaller, much thinner, lighter steinhart gmts for cheaper, or the glycine combat sub at nearly half the price e.g. at ashford. even at "special launch". I can see buyers getting the watch for its lume, and the rather flamboyant dial. Already have the helm vanuatu to fill that role in the collection, iso-rated and cheaper.
Awesome time piece 💪 FedEx delivered my Hammerhead 2 1000m Bronze 'Teal' the same day you posted this video. Comfortable and great fit on my 7.875" wrist. A feature I think is really neat is the stationary looking "nut" above the bezel. Keeping it next to my Swordfish V2.
Another great review Jody. Wish you and you family the very best for Christmas and the New Year. I hope you are not effected by the awful forest fires. Lets all spare a thought for the men and women of the RFS putting their life on the line to try and contain the damage.
I was looking at these on the website after they sent out the subscriber email, quite tempting but Christmas = skint. On the subject of watch sizes, I have a 7 and a half inch wrist and I have a range of watch sizes from 36mm (dress watches and 2 Rados, a Captain Cook and Captain Cook mk2) up to my G-shock at around 52mm as well as a couple of Seiko divers and Casio Edifice in the middle. I think you should wear whatever size of watch you like and whatever goes with the clothes you're wearing.
The bronze one looks fantastic if they could fit that design in a smaller and thinner case I’d be in line for one. My sweet spot is 40 to 42mm and 12 to 13 height ls preferred. 44.3 and 18mm is too large to be worn comfortably for my taste. Although I do have a hunky Deep Blue tritium dial to wear when I’m in the mood for that. But one is enough.
I have the teal ETA and I have writing on my caseback. Yours must be a promo and not regular production one. Your Forged Carbon is very nice but they don't all look that creamy as the one you have. I really enjoy my teal and I think it was the best of the color combinations.
I discard any watch over 14mm regardless of wrist size. But hey, that's me. I'm glad there are people willing to have a quarter of a kilogram in steel on their wrist, protruding so much that you will hit all door handles, walls and any other object you are going to pass close by.
Wow! Gorgeous watches. I was really impressed with the lume (think about them for the next Lume Wars). You made me want to buy one of these beauties, especially the one with the meteorite dial and bezel insert. Actually, it could be one of my new year resolutions. Hahah. Anyways, thanks for sharing, Jody.
What I like about Zelos outside of style and quality they offer both an N35 or eta movement. Which puts many people's affordable. Somehow, I don't think of them as a mircobrand anymore.
offtopic/possible suggestion: since you were mentioning *inexpensive quartz* watches, I wonder if it could make sense to sniff around *Pulsar* (now a Seiko company); I'm doing just that (from afar for now, not bought anything yet) and I spotted two *solar* watches - one diver-styled (px3033x1), one dressier (px3185x1), and from a distance seem very much entry level (e.g. i wonder about bracelets and general build quality, etc) but also absolutely not bad for the price...
Nice review! I'm very interested in this model. I already own a Mako v3 and it fits perfectly. Do you think the HH2 will fit me as well? If so, should I go for the stainless steel or bronze? Does one wear smaller than another?
Folks looking Help, my wife can't wear battery watches as she runs the battery out due to static build up in her body. Is there a patch that can be put on the back of the watch even autos won't run on her. Would really appreciate any advice. Many thanks Terry
2892 in an 18mm thick case. Nice. This is a super-smooth hand wind, but I would say too smooth. There is a certain hand feel that is satisfying. The Tudor in house movement kills it.
Nice review but have to agree with almost all the comments about the watch being way to thick. How do you wear a watch that tall on wrist and not bang it around constantly?
i wish they kept the thick chunkiness limited to the "EXTREME ABYSS" line, and make the Hammerhead a much more reasonable 14mm. still chunky, but it would work wonderfully with the angular design of the whole piece
These look nice but so chunky, I like that the mako 3 is thinner though the case design is not as interesting. I would love to get the meteorite steel mako 3 as a graduation gift, though it will probably be sold out prior to that.

I ordered a Bronze Forged Carbon dial with the eta movement, I love their watches and wanted to make sure it didn't clone my have a Swordfish eta bronze love the watch. Well worth $700. Prefer rubber straps and in their case, I like the feel and look. Have enough stainless. Now to buy deep diving equipment . :))))) . While the meteorite dial seems to becoming popular. While I don't hate it, it doesn't do nothing for me, and 100 bucks more, went for the forged dial. They're probably going to sell out fast and figure they're going to pump them up $US100 when they're regular stock. Zelos does it's own thing, not homaging. As I said previous don't look at them as a microbrand. What's also good, billing goes into the next cycle.
Hey Jody if u see this comment, will u review the Pagani Design datejust homage? they had it for a while now with myiota movement and now they switched to seiko nh35, maybe worth a look
It's a great looking watch, but the dimensions are a tad too big for my 6.5 - 6.75 inch wrist. I think it's deliberately over-built to emphasis the 1000 m water resistance.
15:45 That ETA movement movement is so smooth - the Seiko seems stuttering in comparison - 28800 vs 21600? These watches must set a new world record in lume. Very tempted. The bronze version looks awesome, but I do suspect I may react to it - the caseback is steel, but the buckle is not.
Love the chunky-ness of this beast, I’m the opposite of most watch fans i guess as for me its a nice change in size option without being a dodgy looking Invicta? Lol Anyways Happy Christmas too all!
Haha, I lost it when you showed the thickness of it! Waaay too big for me, but I like the design otherwise. On an other note, I really don't consider your videos as sponsored. Your integrity is meteor solid! Merry Christmas!
I modded my Hammerhead. It now makes coffee.
Lol...i modded my Seiko SN it makes espresso with crema foam on top he he
Thanks to watching your channel (and a few others), I have gone from only partially filling a 12 slot watch case a year ago, to needing to buy a sixth case last month. I have found that no matter how interesting the watch may be, the larger and heavier it is, the less likely it will get worn.

On the bright side they would make good knuckle dusters. (Put them around your hand and use for brass knuckles.)
"That's Not a Man Watch that's a Lady's Watch!" instant like hahahaha
i realize it's kind of randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Reyansh Devin Flixportal :P
@Musa Peyton thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it!
@Reyansh Devin Glad I could help :)

18mm thick is preposterous.
That's what she said.
I love the hammerhead big chunky thick it’s the whole Godzilla thing while I don’t like an enormous gaudy invicta these are ‘tasteful’ five stars to Zelos cheers elshan
I've got this watch, you dont really notice the thickness, a fantastic piece of kit.
SPINNAKER PICCARD enters the chat
Your tiny wrist is preposterous
The watch equivalent of a Hummer H3.
Zelos are up there with the very best of the microbrands. I've got the bronze Seiko NH35 with the forged carbon dial and I love it. The production units have the full spec sheet on the caseback, as well as the LE production number.
Merry Christmas Jody, thanks for all your videos this year and here’s to a watch filled 2020 :-)

Just to let everyone know, the casebacks on the 2 I received are not sterile. It has engraving around the display glass.
I’ll put a bracelet on my old bedside alarm clock and save some $.
Then do it Chaos
dude I literally laughed out loud reading this. hilarious!
Chuffed to bits, wear your alarm clock in good health, okay ciao
I am a huge wrist guy
But can not justify the 18 mm height and 240 gram on my wrist.
Some dive watches are pure tool watches and not meant for every day wear .This beast would be fine to just take diving .Granted no one wants that lol
Yes in this way i fully agree with you.
Though we still wear them and love them even i never dived in my life
Maaaaate!
It's really early in the morning here and when you did that voice impersonation @ 12:45 I woke my wife with laughter....
Thanks, Jody! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Love that bronze with the meteorite dial face! Beautiful watch and as a bigger man chunky works just fine for me!
Nice video as always. I appreciate you still pointing out the few weaknesses that these brands still have. Well done again, Elshan! :) Congrats!
I think I could sacrifice 1000 meters of water resistance for a much thinner watch.....
Then do it.
Definitely different. These Hammerheads are not for the weary. Unfortunately, my 6 3/4 wrist would not be able to handle the crushing weight :-). I have already had a broken wrist when I was a kid. Interesting that the Swiss powered one uses a better movement then basically every oris lol
Well, Jody, this is a first!! I actually have a watch already on my wrist before you had a chance to review it! I actually like the size and the weight - you really KNOW that you are wearing a watch! It's brilliant! (oh, by the way.... it's my 7th Zelos)

18mm thick with just a 47mm lug to lug? Necromancers rejoice!
Looks like Zelos are finally catering to the oft-overlooked reanimated skeleton market.
Another great review Jody. Wish you and you family the very best for Christmas and the New Year. I hope you are not effected by the awful forest fires. Lets all spare a thought for the men and women of the RFS putting their life on the line to try and contain the damage.

Merry Christmas Jody , and thanks for all the wonderful watches I bought this year , including 2 Helm and 4 Vostok 😀😀😀
That meteorite bezel insert is absolutely insane and I love every bit of it
Wow! Gorgeous watches. I was really impressed with the lume (think about them for the next Lume Wars). OMG.. Just in time...i am on the fence about buying this watch..will decide after I watch your video
I do love a big heavy watch
Great review! Not seen any bad Zelos models yet. Amazing brand!
What I like about Zelos outside of style and quality they offer both an N35 or eta movement. Which puts many people's affordable. Somehow, I don't think of them as a mircobrand anymore.

They look like a couple of metallic cupcakes. More novelty piece than wristwatch. They would make an interesting set of bookends, Jody.
Love the stainless!! Bad ass watch
Hell Ooooooo!! They should do a red dial version and call it the Godzilla.
A face only a mother can love ! Not a fan of the hands or the height,so I went with the mako3. Looking forward to getting that all lumed dial
That is a bruiser for sure! And that lume is amazing!! And by the time I see this the meteorite dials are all gone. Ugh...
Lmao.
"THAT'S A WOMEN'S WATCH"
and the drum roll....
Too funny
Looking forward to the mako v3 review!
Jody has a fantastic sense of humor.
Nice review but have to agree with almost all the comments about the watch being way to thick. How do you wear a watch that tall on wrist and not bang it around constantly?
I just bought the new mako v3! Can’t wait for it to arrive!
In awe at the size of this lad...
i wish they kept the thick chunkiness limited to the "EXTREME ABYSS" line, and make the Hammerhead a much more reasonable 14mm. still chunky, but it would work wonderfully with the angular design of the whole piece
Just bought one in the black sand stainless steel.. I can’t wait until it arrives 😃
Simply beautiful and elegant
Can you do a state of the bronze collection to show off your patina to date?
Just watched this again and picked up on your comment , do you think Helm and Zelos from the same factory ?
The Bronze/Meteorite Version is so beautiful 😲😍 A dream of a timepiece...
Nice Jody! 👍 Good size puppy!
I have the stainless-steel with Meteorite dial and I love it!❤
Great watch for bodybuilders. Love the quality and originality of these but can’t see myself ever buying one. Good review as always!
It’s like the Gimli the dwarf of watches! Great review.
These look nice but so chunky, I like that the mako 3 is thinner though the case design is not as interesting. I would love to get the meteorite steel mako 3 as a graduation gift, though it will probably be sold out prior to that.
I love the accuracy of the eta, do you think Helm would ever use it Jody?
i love this invicta
I have a cuestion non related but if you can help me out would greatly appreciate any help
I bought sometime ago the iron bridge limited edition out of order blue and the black watches and wanted to know if they are worth kipin for the collection or to sell them and get a better clasic watch ..???
Thx again for your help 🎄😊
Well at least you'll always have spare ballast when diving if you have a watch like that...
Merry X-mas Jody
How much i love this brand🤗
That lume looke insane! Not sure if you even need to do your Lume Wars Ep III video now that I've seen this. The watch to top this one would need some sort of built-in disco-ball or laser-show to get close to the Zelos' ...err.. lumenacy .... ;)
The Aquatico Oyster has very similar lume....
Wouldn’t mind picking up a zelos at some point but this model is even too big for me. The size that fits me comfortably is 43-44mm but no where near 18mm thick. Also don’t mind a longer lug to lug of 50mm.
Love the Que? Shirt! I need one of these!
My favorite watch is my BB36, but I feel like this would be a fun kitchen timer/beach day/monster movie piece. Zelos just have an element of fun to them that is unique, addicting, and you can’t understand it until you sell one and then miss the hell out of it like a crazy but lovable ex girlfriend.
brill like them both.... cheers
What do you think about techno marine
I ordered a Bronze Forged Carbon dial with the eta movement, I love their watches and wanted to make sure it didn't clone my have a Swordfish eta bronze love the watch. Well worth $700. Prefer rubber straps and in their case, I like the feel and look. Have enough stainless. Now to buy deep diving equipment . :))))) . While the meteorite dial seems to becoming popular. While I don't hate it, it doesn't do nothing for me, and 100 bucks more, went for the forged dial. As I said previous don't look at them as a microbrand. What's also good, billing goes into the next cycle.
V3 is still thick @ 13.5!
Hey Jody if u see this comment, will u review the Pagani Design datejust homage? they had it for a while now with myiota movement and now they switched to seiko nh35, maybe worth a look
What a pair of beutiful watches on my list this year zelos, helm and tc9
Reminds me of my Swordfish. I'm good.
It's a great looking watch, but the dimensions are a tad too big for my 6.5 - 6.75 inch wrist. I think it's deliberately over-built to emphasis the 1000 m water resistance.
Great review Jody, I’ve got 19cm wrist and maybe perfect 👍👍👍
15:45 That ETA movement movement is so smooth - the Seiko seems stuttering in comparison - 28800 vs 21600? These watches must set a new world record in lume. Very tempted. The bronze version looks awesome, but I do suspect I may react to it - the caseback is steel, but the buckle is not.
Love the chunky-ness of this beast,
I’m the opposite of most watch fans i guess as for me its a nice change in size option without being a dodgy looking Invicta? Lol
Anyways Happy Christmas too all!
Kinda wish the date portal was a bit bigger, and/or beveled....
I do wonder how the bezel insert will hold up. Muonionalusta meteorite is known to corrode quite easily.
i think u should take a look at the GPW Field Watch
Hi Jody, are you going to do a review on the Richard LeGrand odyssea MK3 (oceanfarer)? I'm considering one but there aren't any reviews yet
Haha, I lost it when you showed the thickness of it! Waaay too big for me, but I like the design otherwise.
On an other note, I really don't consider your videos as sponsored. Your integrity is meteor solid! Merry Christmas!
