  • The Star Wars team hyped up collectors with the premise of an Imperial March focus set of reveals. Instead, it was a showcase for The Acolyte, a series that might not have many collectors clamoring for anything based on the new Star Wars series coming to Disney+ in June.

    Thank god Disney killed my love for Star Wars or I would be disappointed. Your recaps are way more entertaining than the Pulse livestream.

      :-) And the frustrating thing is they can release good figures when they put the effort in. It just feels like they miss with so many simple layups.

    Here's a theory on the army builder 2 pack "mistakes". Most of us would probably buy a minimum of 3-4 Super Battle droids, Mace's Clone Troopers or Enoch's Night Troopers (and some people A LOT MORE). If these were packed logically with 2 per box, we would only need to purchase 2 of them to get the 4 army builders. By having only 1 army builder packed in with a standard non-army builder character, we would have to buy 4 of these packs before we could build up the same number of figures. So, literally, we would spend twice as much to get the same number of army builders! I've given Hasbro a pass for a lot of stuff before, but this actually makes me angry.

      @LylesFigureFiles  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I feel like a very small percentage of people would buy the figures that way, but it seems like they're missing out on so many more purchases if they would release them in easy army builders like the Ahsoka troops.

      @LylesFigureFiles That's exactly my point, so it makes me wonder; is this a case of Hasbro just doing what's best for Hasbro instead of what the collectors want? I know, Captain Obvious statement, and not surprising considering they are a business after all, but they've got to be reading these comment sections and seeing how we feel about it. They may be underestimating what we're willing to tolerate.

  • @powerturtlebusters

    They won't relax or have a good time cause the people they hire either hate the brand or don't care. Oh yea, there's been brands where the person working on it said they hate the brand lol

    • @LylesFigureFiles

      It sure seems like they are extremely rattled or nervous every time they do them. The ML team is always cool as a cucumber doing their streams. The TF crew is always so relaxed and chill. These guys always seem like they're being forced to be up there.

    Jeff, no disrespect to the newer characters, but it seems to me that the OT is still the most popular era of Star Wars. You'd think we'd get more characters from there. Would love to see more cantina and Jabba's palace aliens, and where the heck's our man, Lobot?

      Maan, where is Lobot??!?! He's a fairly important B or C level character especially to do a complete ESB carbonite chamber scene.

    They are probably thinking they will sell more characters this way instead of releasing them after the show airs.....especially since the trailers for the series have been getting trashed all over online. But that's another story for another time lol

    I have to say the reveals were meh for me😅while jus a prototype the helmet looked too flat and plain to me.
    While I'm looking forward to some of the Acolyte characters I have to say there was allot left to be desired. Are they really serious bout all the singal joints on characters that are supposed to be agile and the choice to sculpt certain aspects instead of overlay or layer is dumbfounding. I get it was probably a cost saving thing but... SMDH. Instead of a cloth hood they should've did like they did wit dark Rey and did a plastic hood wit cloth rob.
    Yet another vintage Haslab all cuz the Rancor didn't fund. I personally backed and would back another Rancor i would jus hope they'd do better wit the tiers. Did they really think a cardboard backdrop was really gonna sell🤪 well I guess since the Rancor failed the chances of us getting a black series Mythosaur, rise of Skywalker snake, or clone wars arena beast will jus be hope wishes and dreams😤
    Hate to say that helmet will be an Ollie's super exclusive 🤣
    And when will we get a black series Princess Amidala🤔

    • @LylesFigureFiles
      @LylesFigureFiles  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I don't quite get why the helmet looks so basic. It seemed screen accurate. The Black Series single joints tend to be fine if they clear the space at the elbow joint. I'm way more concerned about that tunic messing with the arms being able to raise and cross.

    Public speaking and delivering presentations can be extremely intimidating for some people, especially in an industry facing continuous layoffs and employee turnover. In the one hand, I feel pity for the Hasbro Star Wars brand team’s members; they’re hostages to a fickle and overbearing company in Lucasfilm, and also a vocal, easily angered and hypocritical fan base. They can’t win and they’re going to be yelled at either way. But on the other hand, the live streams are painful to watch. The team looks so awkward and stiff. You can see them reading a prompter. They need to be able to have fun and occasionally make fun of themselves. But they’re quite obviously terrified to do that.

      Good point, man.
      Mark on the Transformers team seems to have such a blast. Maybe he's quirky to some folks, but I always enjoy seeing him on streams because his love for the property comes through. I wonder if the SW team on the streams is missing that presence?

    It’s very fashionable to bash Hasbro all the TH-camrs do it for likes and clicks. And at the same time buy all their products to review on their channels. Let’s assess the facts. Marvel and Star Wars are dead franchises that have been abandon by the fans for a multitude of reasons. Products are not selling and toy production overall in multiple companies has slowed. But what people fail to understand is that these licenses are under the control of the license holder. Emily says it in every live stream or interview that GIJOE is not under mandate to make products based on movies, comics or any form of media. So look at the patterns of Marvel Legends and Star Wars releases. That’s why right before X-Men 97 we had two waves of six figure released. And today that’s why we see an entire wave of Star Wars figures released based on the new media that’s releasing this year. The constraints of the license holder dictate what product is made and released. If you expect Hasbro to pump out figures based on fan requests in IP such as Marvel Legends and Star Wars you will always be disappointed. Hasbro works at the behest of the license owner. Star Wars is not a license that Hasbro owns and we will continue to see this pattern from Hasbro or any other toy manufacturer who gets the license.

    • @LylesFigureFiles
      @LylesFigureFiles  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Eh. I would have stopped doing videos a long time ago if it was for clicks and likes. As a Star Wars consumer, there rollout of product is baffling. Take Deedra for example. Andor has come and gone. Release that figure right around the time as the other figures. Not after the next show they're building for. And look at X-Men'97. It's hard to find figures from wave 1 when the show is just now an option for people to watch. Their timing on these releases could be better.

      Hasbro works via whats Most Profitable. Thus its contractually *Active Promtional Status character'* library, will always take precedent.
      > Where characters from _Ashoka, Anbor, The Acolyte,_ (essentially Disney plus) are 100%+ profit for A given time frame. Due too their active promotional status. Which can even include finnancial kick-backs from Disney.
      This is why store pegs are jammed full of _Black Krssantan, Sabine, Disney Ashoka_ & _Dark Trooper_ figures. They're made in higher units due too the fact that Hasbro can maximize profit on them brands (again due to their promo status). Unlike the characters people want like _RotS Anakin, Jango Fett & Darth Malgus._ Which Hasbro can make, as long as they pay A royalty to the Lucas Films library. Thus why YOU DONT SEE THEM ON PEGS Anywhere. Their made in less units, I.e. the profit margin is less. And Yes, IT SUCKS!

    • @LylesFigureFiles
      @LylesFigureFiles  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It really could be. I feel like they squander waves on properties no one has seen or likes/dislikes yet. SW as a brand doesn't have that undefeated streak of hit after hit. Collectors are more discerning about getting figures of characters they're not invested in anymore. I blame Captain Phasma ;-)
