The Lestat refused and he offered to give him all of his gold and to make immortal if he agreed to sell his soul to the devil. Again Lestat refused and attacked him. He was easily thrown off as if he was a small child. If had he accepted and agreed he would have ended up in the cage with all the others and that would have been the end of his story. Magnus wasn't looking for heir to his fortune or a prodigy he was looking for revenge he knew that the others that worship the devil would find him and he knew that Lastat would destroy them that's why he turned the Wolf killer. Because Magnus knew that Lastat would do what he could not. Not because Magnus wasn't strong enough too but because they were his family.
Low ke, to me Sam Reid tops Tom Cruise performance. Mind you, a movie and series are not the same in term of timeline and performance Having watched both Performances, Sam Reid really gives Lestat life and He had fun playing It, it shows.
Can someone tell me why some people when turned into vampires become younger versions of themselves (like Gabriella) and others are really old, like Magnus? If you remain the way you are, it doesn't explain Lestats' mother or Magnus(I doubt someone turned an old old man into a vampire)...most others seem to remain the same after turning. My theory is that you turn into the last healthy version of yourself. Still can't think of why Magnus would look so old, but the 6000yo vampires from later in the series looked younger. Ps: don't get me wrong, it's still my favorite book series of all time regardless of genre.
Magnus was an old, old man when he turned. The coven leader of the vampires in France at the time refused to give Magnus the gift, so the cooky old alchemist dug up a sleeping vampire and essentially stole his blood. Other than his increased age, Magnus was also kind or crazy and lived in squalor by the time Lestat met him, so I think that also affected his appearance. 🤷♀️ guess even vampires have to take care or themselves.
@@jessjess23brooks89he wasn't just old. He was also a hungeback. That's the reason Roshamandes?? Refused to give him the dark gift for he only turned beautiful people.
Those vampiresa who look younger have the habit of exposing themselves to sun light. They are strong enough to survive the sun light and it Burns away the parts of them That makes them look less human. Lestat's mother was a very beautiful and relatively young woman when Lestat turned her so when the dark gift worked its mystical alchemy she became the beautiful strong willed woman she was all along.
I may be mistaking, but, as I remember the Vampire Chronicles, Lestat did not even know Akasha, until , long after meeting Louis and Claudia. Therefore, it was impossible for him to survive their attack because of any benefit from Akasha's blood he consumed. That did not happen until The Queen of the Dammed. Respectfully. Otherwise, I enjoyed your summary

your description of magnus is way off. he was an old man and alchemist when he captured and stole the blood from another old vampire. other than that WELL DONE.
Yes but even in the books -don’t recall which one or who says it-but sometimes it’s the person you infect. Sometimes they become a titan and sometimes they can’t feed or do anything and need to be killed But yes Lestat was a wolf killer and the blood of Magnus magnified his natural gifts. .IMO.
@@Frances643 Good point! The vampire that Magus trapped was one of Akasha’s direct fledgling’s, and he’d never made a fledgling. So, Magnus got all that vampire’s power on top of whatever gifts he gained himself as a vampire, and I’m sure him being a old powerful alchemist helped amplify those gifts too. Now, here’s our Wolf Killer receiving all that power from Magnus. Lestat probably didn’t even realize how powerful he was as a fledgling. He had to learn things on his own the hard way through trail & error.
Is vampiric life was no better than his human life. But his story does teach us that you have to do with your life what you will in order to survive. It is a supernatural tale of finding yourself.

I think Sam Reid and Tom Cruise both did well, though I do prefer Tom's version, they just embraced different parts of the lestat in the book. I think Sam Reid just struggled to portray the multiple elements of lestat's character all at once the way that Tom Cruise did. When Sam acts in the show he flips sharply between being charming and violent, while Tom Cruise embodies both simultaneously and flawlessly all the way through, making his character feel twice as alluring and devious. On the flip side, Tom Cruise's lestat also feels more likable than Sam's, though I can't really pinpoint why, he's just got the x factor

Louis is such an unreliable narrator. He says Lestat was just using him for his money and Lestat was rich af the entire time
7:26 1 gorsz coins in the background while you talk about great riches made my day, hahaha.
Be cool to see LeStat and Aro interact.
Lol, I bet war would clash between them.
Low ke, to me Sam Reid tops Tom Cruise performance. Mind you, a movie and series are not the same in term of timeline and performance
Having watched both Performances, Sam Reid really gives Lestat life and He had fun playing It, it shows.

This is my new obsession channel.
To the crazy person that made a claim against this video because it had blood in it it's a video about a vampire!!!!!!
Lestat drank from Akasha before meeting Louis.
@@duspuljah I guess my senior moments are increasing or is this a Mandela effect
@@mauriceortiz8817 the book "interview" was written and released first.... But in "the vampire Lestat" you get his origin story and everything that happened to him BEFORE going to new Orleans.
He met and fought with Armand. He met Marius. And he drank from Akasha, all before ever going to new Orleans
@@duspuljah ok here is my last stab at my lucidity. My recollection is that Louis was one of the vampires to show up to back up Lestat against Akasha and in Queen of the Dammed Lestat had a rock band. Rock music was invented long after Lestat met Louis. Am I wrong or should I go live in an assisted living facility. Say it ain't so!!!
@@mauriceortiz8817 that was Lestat's second encounter with her. So you are correct, it just wasn't the first time he met her.
He met Marius and Akasha right before coming to New Orleans. They left him because he upset Enkil, and Marius couldn't get him to rest until Lestat was gone.
What do you think about Sam Reid's Lestat?
I think he's the best yet! He pulls off that Lestat arrogance like no other!
Leave it alone. This was a Beautiful Way of Seeing Vampires and Parts of There Ways...Sadness, Compaionship, Loss of One's Self. ❤ A Movie In History!! Tom and Brad! And, o Claudia.! Poor Lestat! Yeah! Younger Times...
Found what I was looking for and didn’t know it
great video and great channel, very glad I found it!❤❤❤
Question have you read the blackwood farm's books they are a awesome extension of the other books
The Irony of Lousi and Nikki they agree to become a vamprie and then resent him for giving them what they asked for
I would love to see a chronological time line for Lestat and Louis.
Watched again! Thank you for the awesome videos 🤍
Thinking about I feel bad for lestat because he didn't get to choice whether he wanted to be a vampire or not
He basically said yes retroactively by killing those wolves all by himself 😂
Oops sorry Dean I didn't know about this channel until the other day. Got a lot of videos to watch I guess lol
so, Lestat's vampire life before Louis was 10 years? wow so much happened
Tom Cruise gave life to Lestat in such a way, that every other actor to attempts the role, pales in comparison.
Love himor hate him. Tom Cruise was really good at playing lestat
I really like Lestat in the Interview with a Vampire. I love to read it ever could of years. I agree the movie is excellent.❤❤❤❤
your description of magnus is way off. he was an old man and alchemist when he captured and stole the blood from another old vampire.
other than that WELL DONE.
Agreed! It’s important to get Magnus correct because it adds to why Lestat is so powerful even as a fledgling.
Yes but even in the books -don’t recall which one or who says it-but sometimes it’s the person you infect. Sometimes they become a titan and sometimes they can’t feed or do anything and need to be killed
But yes Lestat was a wolf killer and the blood of Magnus magnified his natural gifts.
@@glittermethis
Been awhile since my last reading. Forgot Magnus was made from an old one.
Need to go back and reread-
Is vampiric life was no better than his human life. But his story does teach us that you have to do with your life what you will in order to survive. It is a supernatural tale of finding yourself.
I do wonder when part three is coming
Popular opinion: I love Lestat ❤
He really tried and success to be a good man before his father and brother ruined his life...
Subscribed massive Lestat chronicles fan
have some really long detailed chronicles vids coming up
Hope you have some Vampire Hunter D stuff coming!
I was so looking forward to the new show then was disappointed
To be the one bright spot was the actor that played Lestat. He looked the part and played it well
A little more brutal than Id have liked but intriguing
Why a brown eyed brunette for this version? It was specifically mentioned that “ blue eyed blond” was required by Magnus
Some of this is not chronological and is missing info but understandable because the books are really long…still a great recap overall. ❤❤❤❤
Great job..need more..thank you
Tom Cruise was amazing in the original interview with a vampire. So entertaining but not my favorite actor. He was a compelling character........
Definitely love this...
Well made Video.... but l saw Queen of the dammed when Lestat was made Vampire by Marius and now its was 8nly revived...........the year was 1788.... and later after seing Lestat again i the 20 century Marius tells Lestat l ve made you l ve always known where you were......and now its Armand....? I really liked Stuart Townsend as Lestat
Long live the brat prince!!!!
Would love another movie where Interview With the Vampire left off.
Thank you for this video of the story of Lestat di lioncourt, Lestat is my favorite vampire from the Anne Rice vampire chronicles saga, I have been deeply in love with the character of Lestat since I was 4 I was years old when I saw an interview with the vampire and when I grew up I bought the books of this saga to learn more about Lestat, thanks for this video,I would like to know what you think of the new version they did of the interview with the vampire on the AMC+ channel,me encantó como interpretaron a Lestat pero siento que hay cosas que al cambiarlas cambiaron un poco la esencia de la historia original y eso me molesta un poco,me encantaría saber tu opinión,desde ya muchas gracias
Um.. i can't with the "friends" comment. The denial 😂
Thanks mate. Great content
Did Tom cruise do his own stunts in this one too 😁
great origin story of lestat
Lestat had a point in the beginning….😂
Lestat was not evil , a narrsacist yes a brat yes entitled yes manipulative yes but not evil
We need a The Vampire LeStat movie. And no some cut to 90 minute monstrousity like queen of the damned.
I heard the tv series interview with the vampire will be doing the vampire lestat in the third season
@@angelaholmes8888 where is that on? I'm sorry but for my money outside of Pandora (which had no lestat) The vampire lestat was the best of the books. IT was also the closest to an orgin story and I love those.
@@mattm402 season 3 won't air till next year it just got renewed the show airs on amc but in a few months be on Netflix
@@angelaholmes8888 hmmm I think I can get a amc add on with my hulu.
Yes!!! I want the part 2!!!
Cool video. Are the guy that did the Harry Potter channel?
I sure am :)
Not labelling Nicki as “his friend” lol they’re lovers
No proof of that. Just insinuation. There is a clue when Lestat hears Magnus at the window pane and Nicholas puts his arm out to Lestat and says “come to bed’
Can be innocent as I’m tired and it’s late or an intimate gesture- open to interpretation.
Prefer to believe friendship. Hate that same sex friendship has to always be sexual.
If nicki didn’t go mad I think they would have explored further into a lover relationship. Yes they had a friendship, but I think there was more there that mortality and the time was stopping them from furthering a romantic relationship
Curious to know what you think of Sam Reid's portrayal of Lestat
I know all these word for word
Caught up on all your vids and subbed a couple weeks ago. Love your channel! BUT... Not a Tom Cruise fan. I really liked Stuart Townsend as Lestat WAY BETTER!!! Look forward to your future content and good luck not running out! 😉☺
I cannot stomach Tom Cruise in anything EXCEPT Interview. He absolutely killed the oaart and I was mever more impressed eith his acting. Townsend...um. Yeah. He did...ok? Just soo much slurring and very little of the Aristocratic air that Lestat carried as a character. IMO, anyway.
He was only evil in interview after that he was the hero
Ok , so it’s time to make one on David Talbot
What about Buffy and the vampires?
Wouldn’t some of Alaska’s blood be in Louis and Claudia since Lestat gave them his blood?
Love the update! 💎 Also!!!! Let’s make this clear! I’m the prince of brats! 🥂 ❤️ 🔥
Claudia was really 5???!!!!!
Yes
She was based off Anne race's daughter (who her and her husband nicknamed claudia). Her daughter died of leukemia at 5 or right before her 5th birthday.
