Very nice addition to the building resume... wish you would put prices for total build, would give us looking an idea of cost. Yes it depends on what the customer adds.. just think an estimate would be nice at end or beginning of video..
But if you were having this built would you want anyone and everyone to know how much money you were spending ? They do have an updated pricing video up that you can figure it out... I for one do not want anyone knowing how I spend my money.
@@richardfowler3254 I understand what you are saying, to an extent... but since you can go to city hall and find out the value of anyone's home and any realtor site shows what it sold for.. giving an estimate of what it costs for a basic build (sans land and utilities etc) would not really give away anything that is not already public information and would be very helpful for those who are giving a thumbs up on the videos
@@kymmberly2718 I agree. I can go on Zillow and get a rough estimate on most houses. Even if he just rounds it to the nearest $50,000 or something
@@richardfowler3254 If you build a house, it’s pretty clear how you spend your money. The only difference is the exact amount is unknown.
@@richardfowler3254 You can get on your counties GIS site and it will list how much has been spent in improvements and when, and how much you pay in taxes. So really, it's already public knowledge. Plus in this video, they don't state the client's name or address so I don't know that it's an issue.

The homeowner's are going to love that wood stove!!! Growing up we had a small porcelain coated cast iron stove like the one in this home, ours was a Jotül brand and it's a smaller stove but it Throws the heat. They take a little bit to get used to, but once you know how to work with them they are an amazing stove. We had 16 people stay with us during the Ice Storm of '98 (We are in Mid-Coast Maine) for 12 days with no power and that stove kept us warm, fed, and washed. My parents home is a 2 story 2,600sq ft cape style home with 30' cathedral ceilings and an open balcony throughout the home. It has 2bdrms, a full bath, and bonus room upstairs, and open beams.The main floor has the living, dining, kitchen, a 1/2 bath, master bedroom with full bath and a laundry room. So it is a good sized home, and that little stove kept it a cozy 75-80° the entire 12 days!!! (There's also a full basement that we had a small camp wood stove hooked up to keep the pipes from freezing.). So I think the owners will enjoy that stove very much!!!❤️❤️❤️
There's nothing like heating with wood. It's hands down the best way to heat a home. Like you said, power or not, it keeps you warm (alive).
That island, that wood accent wall, the black faucet, the exposed air duct. Man that came together PERFECT!

@@stuartkorte1642 Absolutely! Florida has some building codes specifically tuned for keeping the roofs on and whatnot too that would have to be complied with. Would sure meet my needs though!

@@68heavychevyrida20 I don't think he goes out that far sadly. He does have a cost video that goes over quite a bit, it's not too bad honestly. I'm looking up around Melbourne myself. Land is NOT cheap though.

good suggestion/ cheap option. if you want you can paint the foam black for exposed roofs. dropdown lights hide it well. or soundboard with cloth like studios use

It desperately needs a toilet and a sink in the shop area. Underneath the stairs. The stairs in the shop should also access the 2nd floor area.

As somebody who saw a drawer microwave in a movie and thought it was coolest thing so i needed it in my new home build.... yeah they suck for kids because they will ALWAYS play with it. and the sticker shock gave me PTSD, just saying
Good video; love these tours. My "help"/critical view here is: House - Amazing. Metal Ceiling - not sure about the white; dark might have been less noticeable for a home? White ceilings are usually chosen in normal 9' home ceilings; which is not an issue here. Kitchens with high ceilings need to be on an end-wall; having it here in the middle looks goofy? (in its present undecorated and unfurnished state). Also, when you go with high ceilings, you need windows consistent on both levels. You can't get away with a big window below and small window above, in a tall open space; fortunately, this is easy to fix in post-frame too. Master Bath - don't mix closets and baths; also, pedestal tubs are meant to sit in an open room - while simple bathtubs sit between walls at foot and head. Would you recommend two buildings - separating shop and home? This seems to compromise both home and shop.

I've watched many of your videos but haven't seen (or don't remember) seeing one with the exterior walls attached to the I-beams of a pre-engineered building. Have you done one of those that you could point me to the video of how the wood framing is attached to the beams.

I see a mini split for the main bedroom, how do you heat something like that in a place that is very cold in the winter? Heated floors? Propane? I'm out of the city so heating is either an electric furnace, or propane.
Looks beautiful! Little question though, on some of the walls at the bottom there looks to be areas that are gapped wider than other areas of the same wall. By design? Or just the nature of concrete? I’m not a builder, just curious.
How much does it cost to build something like this? I have 5 acres just outside of Austin and I love the idea of building something like this. My preference probably make the shop bigger since I like to work on cars in the shop.
Where you are why not add solar panels with backup storage and backup generator for electricity. Best to do in new construction

Great Job! I really like the look of the stained concrete floor, but after living in a condo built on a slab, just wondering if you can do heated floors but still keep the look, and function ? Even with a flooring over top and padded rugs, the floors remained cold and uncomfortable in the condo

Always curious how a homeowner would change those lights?
Question about how to do the covered porch connection with the vertical wall and keep it watertight for both the structure and the porch.
We use the zip system continuously before we frame the porch 1st
Thanks for responding. I'm not familiar with the zip system but I will try and do the research. We'll be paying our builder for a dried in structure and we will finish up the rest but our plan calls for a 40ft covered porch starting at 10ft on a 12ft sidewall and I just want to make sure neither of them leaks.

Since you had to ask, you probably can’t afford it! That said, this is my dream barndo and its stunning and well executed. I’m absolutely in love with it and this is exactly how I pictured it. The combination of the modern industrial theme with rustic touches to warm it up works well and pulls the design together into a cohesive whole. The Maypearl is a masterpiece and its worth every penny invested to build it.
Wish their was a basic price based on certain layouts. And of course the price would go up the more you add. I think everybody here would like just a basic number price haha
