Wow! Now THIS guy has it nailed! REAL, no BS, a GREAT speaker, no "umm, uhhhh, you know" fillers. A VERY good, professional and informative video series. You will go very far in your business like this. Thank you for the quality in your video! I can only imagine your work! Keep it up!
I really enjoyed your video's some good advice as I am going to caramic coat my mokka when the weather in England gets better 🤔so your video's and advice brilliant 👍🇬🇧
Good vedio. Have been a Gtechniq installer, now have left the business but detailing bug never leaves you! Gtechniq is a gr8 coating as it is commercially viable, quite easy to apply, gr8 shine and gloss plus durability!
I had opti coat pro on my 750il and am getting ceramic pro on my 650i convertible. Along with full xpel ppf all over. Great installer in Greenville, SC. Four coats of 9H and a layer of lite on entire far and rims and calipers.
Jason, really like your videos, informative and to the point. One coating I've been looking at since I lease is QP ON 2.0. Please look into it, trial it. I'd be very interested in your assesment. Some refer to it as an entry level product, it's ceramic though I've also heard shops calling in between a sealant and a coating, that's how they price it anyways. It gives really nice gloss, amazing hydrophobic properties, I was at a car show and a detailer showed me a video where he got some on porous concrete, while applying to floor mats the concrete repelled water. QP ON is mixed with distilled water and applied, a little goes a long way. The whole vehicle can be coated with it, paint, engine bay, interior, floor mats. It's is impressive. Also has a whole lot of non automotive and household uses. I'd be interested in seeing you trial it. I ran into a detailer who put it on a long time loyal customer's car for free as he maintained it weekly and did the guys paint corrections as needed, he did to make things even easier for himself since he protected the exterior, and interior, the maintance was a breeze.
What would you recommend for “proper maintenance” for the modesta pro level coating. Is it just cleaning the exterior regularly. Or should I do something with the ceramic coating every once in a while
Great info on coatings, for the shorter lasting coatings I'm surprised you did not say one of the lower end Carpro coatings like CQUK -I think that lasts 2-3 years.
I've got a daily driver, that I just want protected, and I can power wash (2000psi, 1.2GPM, don't worry, I'm not crazy with it) on the weekend, and can clean the wheels and tires without stripping any protective layer. I'm about to wax it, but now I'm thinking about a ceramic coating, but I'm still on the fence.. It's my daily driver that I've had since high school, and currently my only car.
I know this us off topic but do you know of any detail retailers that sell products in the Chicago land area or do you guys sell to the public ( towels, compounds, polishes,etc..)?
Just purchased 2020 Harley Davidson Road Glide Limited is there anything I should be aware of different than a car for ceramic coating. Also I would be storing it with a cover over top each winter for about 4 months. Is there any pre storage prep paint wise I should do for the ceramic coating. Great videos!!!
Thanks Jason, it´s a very educational. I´m living in Sweden and I would like to know if you have any information about drop off coating. They say it used for Ferrari and expensive cars her in Sweden. I have BMW G30 2018 black and I want to make this coating. Thanks for your advise.
No you shouldn't clay bar the coating. It would mar the coating and the scratches/ marks will show whenever the car is in sun or strong light. Just a normal routine wash and top up spray is enough to maintian your coating.
After a few years my ceramic coating is beginning to show some wear. Where do I go from here? Does the entire coating have to be stripped before decorating?
Question: am i losing a lot by going with 8H instead of 9H? My detail guy asked for an additional $400 for 9H and I’m not sure if it’s worth. How better is 9H vs 8H? Thanks for the video.

Super helpful. I'm looking at getting my new car coated and I found a local installer that uses Ceramic Pro 9H. If i wasn't on the opposite side of the county i'd hit you guys up for the work. They offer a lifetime warranty with enough coats. Is a lifetime warranty unexpected ?

Hey Jason. Any specific reason why you don't use Ceramic Pro? I have seen them a lot but not any of the brands you showed. Is there a reason behind that?
Well done, I got a lot of good info. However, you did not mention "COST". Hope its not one of those if you have to ask, you can't afford it type deals.

If you want to protect your front end from rock chips, yes PPF is the way to go. We would put ceramic coating over the PPf and the rest of the painted surfaces.
