Brilliant and informative vlog, we were planning a trip this November, but were put off by the cost of the certificate. Our vets wanted £275 for each dog certificate and £97 for each dog for rabies injection
Yes, prices massively vary with vets. Definitely worth using Abbeywell or alike for the AHC. Glad you found the vlog helpful and hopefully you manage to get away this year 😁🤙

Hi, thanks for watching. As far as I am aware you do need the tape worm treatment and checks on entering the UK, no matter how long you are in the EU. This needs to be done a minimum of 24 hours to a maximum of 5 days before you want to enter the UK. Hope that helps! 😊

Great video with very good information. How long before your trip did you go online for the AHC? I will be using this service as my vet requests £170 fee. Look forward to seeing more videos.
I contacted Abbeywell about 6 weeks before we were due to travel, just give them time to process everything. They can do it a lot quicker but we had time so got the ball rolling early, especially as they get busy. We even had a last minute travel date change which they sorted with no additional charge or problems. I can't recommend them enough. 😊

This my not solve all the problem of transporting pets by airplane, but at least will bring more security to the small pets. There is an official petition to the UK Government and Parliament to change the rules and allow small pets to come in the cabin like most countries in the world and the UE. Help spread this if you can.

Hi does the AHC come in English or does it need to be translated into the language of the country you are going to?
Our AHC was written in dual language based on the country of entry into the EU. You have to provide that info to the vet/ahc service when you request one, so they will determine the correct form to be completed. Hope that helps 😊
So ours was in english and french

Hi, just about to travel to Spain this year with our dog in Motorhome. How did you get on with a muzzle? Thanks
We only had to use one on Rex when we saw the vet on the return journey and he has a soft one which he is used to. I would try and get your dog used to it before you go. Other than that, we haven't had to use one in public yet! 😁

Where is the muzzle needed? Only when seeing vets? We are planning moving out to Spain with our dog
@@oscarhetakmusic a muzzle is not compulsory for a dog to wear. I think you just need to take one, in case you want to use public transport at all. Our Rex just has one because he is afraid of the vet.

Is it not possible to cross the border by euro tunnel with dog food kibble containing meat?
No, you shouldn't. You can take up to 2kg of meat based kibble with a vet note, if your dog has special dietary requirements but other than that, no, you should get it when you get to France. However, I know loads of people who do take meat based kibble and have not had it confiscated. It just depends on if you get searched or not. Hope that helps. 😊

Rabies vaccine and worm tablet + AHC documents its all what’s they check at reception in euro tunnel?
What about the vaccines which vets recommends as booster every 12 months? (The ones dogs had as puppy)
That's correct. No annual boosters aren't a requirement .

Did you have a layover in another country? I'm wondering if I need two certificates because I have a 3 hour layover in another country.
Not sure what you mean. We went to france and spain on one AHC as both countries are in the EU.
