  • "This is a new song written by Joni Mitchell and it is called "The Flower" and it's about all the things that you see happening during the day and the night, and the two things that people can make: day spades and night spades, which are really just horseshoes and bicycle wheels.
And it's just the idea that you could take things and make them into something else. It's how people on the street might see it. And that the treasures are never really seen by the people who are looking at them, and the song is about that. You're walking through the garden on a sunny day and you're dazzled by the things that you're seeing, but that's not really what it is. Because most of the time when you're going through the garden, you're not really seeing things. You're thinking about something else. You're thinking about what you have to do next. And so you're really not paying any attention to the things around you and they're just the day spades and the night spades in your life. And that's what the song is about. Anything could be a day spade and a night spade.
And then the whole thing of the cosmic joker in a suit of lights. The suit of lights is the playing card, because I'm talking about the cosmic joker who's kind of a dealer, a card dealer. And so the cosmic joker is sitting behind his light show, which is actually his suit. And I remember when I was writing this song, I was thinking about how people would be dancing to music in the future and so there's the cosmic joker dancing on the ceiling."

    FAQ:
    • What is OpenAI Jukebox?
Simply put, it's a neural net that generates music - read more about it on the official blog: openai.com/blog/jukebox/
    • Can I use Jukebox myself?
Yes! If you have a very powerful Nvidia graphics unit (at least 16GB of VRAM for the 5b_lyrics model), you can run Jukebox through Python. If you don't, you can give Google Colab a try.
    • Is there a tutorial?
Yes, there is a tutorial explaining the basics about generating samples and upsampling through Google Colab. • Video (only works with Colab Pro at the moment)
    • What has Jukebox been trained on?
According to OpenAI, it has been trained on 1.2 million songs. Unfortunately, OpenAI has not publicly disclosed which songs are in this dataset.
    • What sampling temperature are you using?
    Always between .975 and 1 - Usually .98
    • Does the original artist get compensated if you use their song to train the AI and upload the result to TH-cam?
When doing a song continuation like this, in most cases, yes. TH-cam's algorithms can detect most songs, even if they're only played for a few seconds. The record label will then automatically claim the video and make money off of it.
    • Can you do X song/band next?
Feel free to suggest anything. Also, Jukebox works best if the artist is on this list: github.com/openai/jukebox/blo...

I just learned about GPT-3 for the first time yesterday, I was looking for a Joni song, and then this finds me 1 day later. What a small world.
    This is really impressive!
