I've carried T.H.E. Wallet since 2009, the same one!!! Cleaned it numerous times and not a single stitch torn, It survived OEF 2009-2010 and continues to be awesome!
I keep a climbing rated sewn loop runner made of 1/2" tubular nylon webbing in my edc bag. You can use it with a prussik hitch to tie off to another rope, or girth hitch it to a tree branch or pipe, etc.. if you get the correct size, it can give you a set of leg loops for your riggers belt, and actually rappel safely with it. Give it a try, those sewn runners have several uses, and are incredibly strong.
So glad I watched this video, as I wasn't aware of the "Nitecore Tube". What a fantastic little product and the fact that it's micro usb rechargeable makes it perfect. Thanks so much for including it this video.
I recommend the Sinclair folding card knife as a backup. I also have a magnifying fresnel lens card in my wallet, used it a few times & it is a backup firestarter.
I like it the simple things that make life easier but we never think about. I have a similar belt I wear mainly for work ,never sussed out what that triangular clip was for till now thanks
I use that belt, it's very solidly built, metal components a tad heavy if you are weight conscious (ounces equal pounds pounds equal pain) they also do an "instructors" gun belt for alittle more, (snagged mine from the knife center)
great ideas love the urban evasion idea looking for small kit my self. I have big lock pics etc. but looking for a few edc things can't wait to see them
Thanks for sharing ! I have slid with a last chance belt before and it will get you down if need be. I did it from three floors and it wasn't comfortable but it worked. Using your EDC I would triple wrap that carabiner or use a munter hitch rather than use a figure eight - I love an eight but I would't carry one every day. I have a coach wallet and it is the cat's pajamas.
The SF guys use those belts in conjunction with the safety lanyards for clipping themselves into Helicopters, not something we need to do on a daily basis but you're use of it at work has given me reason to think about wearing mine when we have access platforms to use in my job. I was told buy an SF guy that they also use the belts and safety lanyards for casualty extraction buy clipping the lanyard to the belt with a carabiner on one end and having another carabiner on the other end and clipping that to the casualties grab handle on their plate carrier and then dragging them out with it
I've just been wearing my paracord belt for the last year I made myself. I like the idea of the riggers belt. I have tons of stuff just laying around so this gives me some ideas. I also really that wallet! Great idea with the key chain as well!
Since I broke my truck's ignition with a heavy keychain and lots of vibration on dirt roads, I've only used very light key fobs for it, and a separate keychain for keys, etc. liked your S-biner idea, though. will try it!
I like how you say "roof" the same way I do. I bought a bunch of stuff from Black Scout, too. Looks like the exact some stuff. I still haven't gotten around to reviewing the Bogota Nanos and the quick sticks, but they fit perfectly in their case inside an Altoids minis tin. I really like that guy's videos. He obviously knows what he's talking about.
I used to collect a ton of key chain tools. Now I have taken almost all of them off my Keychain but I have clipped all the useful ones to the key holder of my edc bag using a big sbiner.
I watched this a few days ago and really liked the spec-ops T.H.E. WALLET J.R. review.....been trying find something like that...I ordered it.I got it in mail today and I have to say....AWESOME !!!!! It is set up and works just like I have been looking for. Thanks sooooooo much for the review !
I've had the same wallet for a few years now. Excellent. I include a fresnel lens, some spare ID photos, a tiny USB card and a zebra pen. I keep normal cash in the main compartment and $100 in the zipped compartment as backup. I've never had a better wallet
wallet Jr is an epic wallet. i carry mine with a chain on it. it works very well, and fits all my essentials, and even some EDC gear like my ready man card, razor blade, paper, and matchbook. I'm also a skinny guy about 130lbs, and it don't seem to big for me in the back pocket.
I'm really into this video series that you are doing. Cool stuff. I wear an SOE cobra riggers belt every day for the same reason. I feel much safer climbing up on a building or scaffolding and I don't have to be inconvenienced carrying a separate harness.
Still catching up. Survival Onion, lol, that was a beaut. Good review, some of these are on my to-do list still and this was a practical how-did-Chris arrive at these conclusions, like you are doing in this series. To that end I found your separate NiteCore Tube video on this little keychain light here awhile back you did, so ordered one. Believe it or not on high, out of the box (so likely not full batt) - that thing friggin ran on HIGH for 10 hours/5 mins. I could not believe it, I just could not believe it-- the lumen count at 45 is only sposed to run for ONE hour. Yes, it started to dim a bit after the 2 hour mark but holy cow for this type of light with that little battery?? Just to back up what you are carrying here and why. Thanks as always.
One thing to consider about that keychain is that if you keep all that stuff on there while you're using your car key in the ignition, it could prematurely wear it out, as they aren't designed to hold that kind of weight. I've seen it happen with my own eyes.
My preparedness onion makes me cry lol. Ya kinda dumb but had to do it. I wear glasses and keep a lens cloth in my front pocket. Do you wash yours? I do, I have several and rotate them as they get dirty. Cool ideas Chris, keep it coming.
Great video series Chris. I've been using the spec ops wallet for about a year now and I don't believe I'll ever use another. Don't they make one in another size as well? If so have you had an opportunity to see one.
I love this series, thanks for doing it. It gives me ideas for my own EDC. I also own T.H.E wallet JR and I love it too, haven't found anything better.
One of the most useful things I keep in my wallet is an old credit card wrapped in about 12-18 inches of duct tape (I tried gorilla tape, it's too thick and the adhesive gets everywhere) I have first aid in the car and an Altoids tin first aid kit with the basics I keep in my work bag, so no band aid in the wallet. Victoronox midnight manager on the key chain, with my car key and remote, and nothing else. My house key and other keys go on a key smart and sit flat in the bottom of a pocket very small.
I'm glad someone addressed key ring, wallets, and belts, as these are true edc items. Edc is very personal and is different for everyone, but these are three items that everyone carries so why not put real functionality on it.
My only concern about having any extra weight on a key ring is the stress it puts on your vehicles ignition. My answer to this was using two key rings . One for my vehicle key & house key. All the other stuff is on another ring that I keep clipped to my belt. Just my opinion and as I say it's like a nose everyone should have one.
Funny idea this repelling belt. Do you carry 30 meters of 8mm climbing rope with it? Joking; but at least it says a lot about its steardiness. Wallet: That backup's backup mentality... With how many ferro rods do you leave home every morning again? I have the same problem myself, really have to rethink my system. On working days when I leave home, when I add what's in my pockets, my motocycle jacket and my bag I carry 3 lighters, 2 tubes of matches a Doans bar, and sometimes no less than 8 knives/multitools/cutting tools (some of them are work-related). Sure enough, my colleagues come to find me whenever they need fire, tools or first aid but I sometimes think that we "gear guys" are pushing it a tadd too far. Keyring: good idea this oversized ring!
T.H.E. Wallet Jr is pretty awesome. I had my first one from the Spec Ops CEO at the Infantry Conference @ Fort Benning, GA in 2002 and had 3 since. In fact my 3rd one (in Black just came in from Ranger Joe's about 3 months ago). They're pretty awesome and almost indestructible. I changed them only because I got bored of the color. The belt segment? i do not know about all that. I wore those type of belts (by two manufacturers). I wouldn't trust my life on them. Jumping out with a rigger's belt wouldn't be crazy, it would be ... something else. Now, a seating harness is a very different story.
It looks like the jailer keyring is 2 inches in diameter. Do you prefer the solid split keyring or one of the newer aluminum lined with nylon aircraft cable rings?
I would like to say a huge thanks to Prepared Mind101 for recomending THE WalletJR! I have had mine now for a year and a half-two years. You origionally did a video about the wallet about 2 years ago and that is when i bought it. There is no better wallet out there IMO!! What about belts from SOE?
Hear they are good. Haven't tried them. Funny thing....after I did the video I went to put on my new belt and found that it's now 2" longer. Probably to fit more people, but now it's just slightly too long for me. And small is way too short. So I ordered a similar belt from Bison I'll be trying out because now my favorite belt doesn't work. Good thing about Amazon is it's easy to return stuff.
So I'm getting that belt because I'm going to be CCW soon. Your Amazon site says they are $22.69 - $100,000.00. I didn't see the 24K gold version on there so no $100,000.00 belt for me. ;-)
Hey Chris. All your recommendations for gear are pretty much the same things I'm looking to purchase. I have the wallet (and love it), now the belt. What size would fit a 32 inch waist in your opinion.
One thing that a belt can be use for is self-defense, if you are attacked by someone using a knife you can use a belt, especially one with a metal buckle to counter attack with a strike to the hand or face.
Can't stand bulk in my pockets. I use a key ring for car and home and another for work both with clips so they hang and don't sit in the bottom of my pocket. Patterned after the only other thing hanging inside my pants. key ring=keys and micro light. I get the lens cloth but for me tools have better places to go like an edc bag or separate cargo pocket. jmo
By the way, as usual, I really love the common sense with which you put you ideas up. Instead of suggesting rapelling down a bridge using your belt and the paracord on your boots, you show us a real world, everyday use for the thing. Same with the flashlights and multi tools. Low hype, top thinking, that's what I like about your channel. thanks, buddy!
I got a new wallet thats basically a wallet inside of a wallet thats super small and thin. I like that option because when I go hiking all i want to carry is my debit card, drivers license and a lil cash and not the full wallet.
For your wallet add some Aluminium foil to make your wallet a RFID Blocking Wallet. Also include a Fresnel Lens to start fires or read the info sheet of your Fire Kit ! I have a SOE EDC belt to hold my 5.11 Tact pants up and your one inch webbing can be use to make a seat harness with your heavy duty tactical belt. Also would have the carabiner around the belt. Thank you for the video ! tjl
The only problem I see with your wallet set up, for me at least, its not airplane friendly, is it would be scanned at the airport due to the hidden exacto blade. Better if I use a piece of carbon steel. Its a great wallet by the way. I will keep an eye out for one.
Right on man. Learning lockpicking eh? That's the friction fire of the urban survival world. I recommend watching bosnianbill's video on "How to improve your lockpicking skill (for beginners)" It contains a link to a very informative ebook, which you would otherwise be wishing you had when you hit a wall with your lockpicking.
ha ha, this is too bizzare, I have the same belt and same wallet for my edc, only I use T.H.E wallet, not the junior, I have had the same wallet for over 4 years now, it's still going strong, no loose threads, no rips, it's brilliant. same with the riggers belt, I have 2 that I rotate. brilliant review as always. thanks.
I've always wondered what you did as a day job. It's non of my business but does your channel afford you to only do pest control for one day per month?
Thanks for another good video Chris. FYI - -i don't think you're supposed to be showing your real house keys on the internet anymore. They can make copies based solely on the picture. Just sayin'... Enjoying the video series, thanks alot.
Really enjoying this EDC series. You are kicking 2016's ass
I've carried T.H.E. Wallet since 2009, the same one!!! Cleaned it numerous times and not a single stitch torn, It survived OEF 2009-2010 and continues to be awesome!
LOVE that little flashlight... Thank you for the suggestion .. I Bought 3 of them ..
I keep a climbing rated sewn loop runner made of 1/2" tubular nylon webbing in my edc bag. I have been wearing the same blackhawk belt for a little over a year and I absolutely love it best belt I have ever owned.
I recommend the Sinclair folding card knife as a backup. I also have a magnifying fresnel lens card in my wallet, used it a few times & it is a backup firestarter.
I LOVE my micra. My dad gave it to me when I was a child and I held on to it ever since. I did lose it a couple years back but I found it recently.
I like it the simple things that make life easier but we never think about. I have a similar belt I wear mainly for work ,never sussed out what that triangular clip was for till now thanks

True Utility Cash Capsule - comes with o-ring, solid screw connection, small and unobstructive
I've just been wearing my paracord belt for the last year I made myself. I like the idea of the riggers belt. I have tons of stuff just laying around so this gives me some ideas. I also really that wallet! Great idea with the key chain as well!

liked your S-biner idea, though. will try it!
If you are worried about weight, just make sure the car key is on an S-biner too. Then you can just take it off.
That's what I liked about your idea. Will definitely try it!
+PREPAREDMIND101 I picked up a jailers key ring today at Lowes thanks to your video.
I have the same belt, super comfortable and I use the metal bit on the belt to hook my keys with a D ring,
Great video. I really have to look into that wallet. I really like the way it's set up. I think it will work well with what I carry.
I got a climbing carbeaner for all of my keys it comes in handy for emergency usage as well as a key chain
Chris, the E&E tools look interesting.
Have you looked at Clint Emerson's "100 Deadly Skills"? Interesting quick read.
I used to collect a ton of key chain tools. Now I have taken almost all of them off my Keychain but I have clipped all the useful ones to the key holder of my edc bag using a big sbiner.
I like your new EDC series, very descriptive and not a lot of the other repetitive BS some people do on here, good effort keep up the good work
I watched this a few days ago and really liked the spec-ops T.H.E. WALLET J.R. review.....been trying find something like that...I ordered it.I got it in mail today and I have to say....AWESOME !!!!! It is set up and works just like I have been looking for. Thanks sooooooo much for the review !
That wallet isn't quite the size I use but the closure on that looks pretty cool.
I've had the same wallet for a few years now. Excellent. I include a fresnel lens, some spare ID photos, a tiny USB card and a zebra pen. I keep normal cash in the main compartment and $100 in the zipped compartment as backup. I've never had a better wallet

You were in the navy... That's sick. I never have heard you say that before, thanks for your service.
Amen to that, Thank you for serving.

Belt is good for snap linking into a safety line that's about it and you should have went down the road to Commandos for a free drink 😜
It looks like the jailer keyring is 2 inches in diameter. Do you prefer the solid split keyring or one of the newer aluminum lined with nylon aircraft cable rings?

Nice wallet, do they make one with rfid protection?
Simple yet effective! I agree with you on the mini "pry bars" completely useless in real world applications. Keep up the good work.
Cmon man! I lugged one around for 2 years and I used it exactly once. To open a paint can, I was super pumped I could use it LOL.
Can't stand bulk in my pockets. I use a key ring for car and home and another for work both with clips so they hang and don't sit in the bottom of my pocket. I LIKE THAT SAFETY BELT A CARE BEEN ER WHERE CAN I GET THAT APPARATUS IN CY.?
what is the house key holder attachment called in your video? I have to have one.. Cant find one anywhere.. Thank you in advance. :)
I currently carry my minibuck, my spark force, my EDC charcloth, and my cellphone on a showercurtain ring on a beltloop
By the way, as usual, I really love the common sense with which you put you ideas up.

thanks, buddy!
If you can please do a review on bee tactical wallet ?
How long does the velcro on the belt lasts using every day?
Korkers overshoes will give you some sick traction on the roof.
what is that thing called that keeps your keys together?
These new vids are the best.
I got a new wallet thats basically a wallet inside of a wallet thats super small and thin. I like that option because when I go hiking all i want to carry is my debit card, drivers license and a lil cash and not the full wallet.
hummm is velcro (hook&loop) really strong enough to hold your weight + all the gear being carried??
Nice one Chris, always enjoy your vids.
Would you consider doing a review of the credit card axe by survco?
What if you have a lot of keys that you need on your side on your carabiner with out over loading your key chain
Can I buy the Black Hawk belt on Amazon?
Not 100% sure but I think its possible to make a copy of your keys from a picture/video still. I hope Im wrong.
Hey where exactly did you get your jailers key ring? I've got a thinner one but I like the look of thicker one.
Also whats the diametre of it?
?
For your wallet add some Aluminium foil to make your wallet a RFID Blocking Wallet. Also include a Fresnel Lens to start fires or read the info sheet of your Fire Kit ! I have a SOE EDC belt to hold my 5.11 Tact pants up and your one inch webbing can be use to make a seat harness with your heavy duty tactical belt. Also would have the carabiner around the belt. Thank you for the video ! tjl

ha ha, this is too bizzare, I have the same belt and same wallet for my edc, only I use T.H.E wallet, not the junior, I have had the same wallet for over 4 years now, it's still going strong, no loose threads, no rips, it's brilliant.
same with the riggers belt, I have 2 that I rotate.
brilliant review as always. thanks.
the Mighty tyvek wallet is another good option
Pretty cool wallet buying one right now 👌
Like the course of the channel.
Nice vid Chris, I've carried the True Utility key shackle for years and that thing is like a religious experience..Go Blue btw hehe
i carry gerber dime, mini flashlight, mini survival kit and of course keys
In my wallet I keep etc tweezers p38 can opener bandaids
That wallet is going on my Christmas list ASAP
Chris, ditch the figure 8. Learn to use a Munter hitch, it grabs better!
hey great minds think alike! I have 2 one in black and one in khaki. love it guys he's not kidding.
WHY YOU NO KEYCHAIN LIGHTER HOLDER?
strongly suggest. a SOE belt
I have to admit. I lost interest with all the knife and flashlight videos but now in addicted again!
I believe the holes on the wallet are so you can wear it around your neck.
What's a ruf?
Grip6 belt?
I'm looking into putting something to start a fire with on my keychain.
I've always wondered what you did as a day job. It's non of my business but does your channel afford you to only do pest control for one day per month?
Yes. Preparedmind101 LLC is my full time job.
Congrats man!
Why did it say the belt ranges from $23 to $100,000???
Thanks for another good video Chris. FYI - -i don't think you're supposed to be showing your real house keys on the internet anymore. They can make copies based solely on the picture. Just sayin'...
Enjoying the video series, thanks alot.
Time to get a jailer ring. Great video.
Aldis quarter! Yes!
how's it going
Great last name bro ;-)
why does the belt range from $23.08 to $100,000.00?
It's a really good belt? IDK...sometimes you see that in the Amazon stores, probably just some parameter in their system that becomes visible.
Like the belt....... that I would buy
the aldi's quarter got lol
that xacto is exactly what tsa will strip search you over lol. it's smart but looks sketchy as hell.
Always remember the aldis quarter lol
HI CHRIS MY FACEBOOK DOESN'T WORK IT SUCKS CAN'T CONNECT
