Plenty of countries manage to do this by taking away the freedom part, which is the actual sentence you're receiving, without the rest being negatively affected. it still feels like it's purely punishment, like "we don't trust you so there's not a square centimeter of this building that's not on live feed to the front desk's monitor, have fun rubbing one out or crying in privacy, showering or taking a dump". Plenty of countries manage to do this by taking away the freedom part, which is the actual sentence you're receiving, without the rest being negatively affected. Privacy can still be given to someone whilst keeping them confined, and hell, maybe less palpable distrust might make the people feel somewhat differently and break out less, at least the countries that do what I described seem to have it working out just fine.
Maybe this is just because I'm a big pro-privacy guy, but I would go insane if I couldn't just exist outside of a camera's view
@@justalonelypoteto Yeah you're right, they have it figured out in Scandinavia. Much lower chance of re-offending too. I guess the UK has the money to make the prisons more humane, but they opt for this 'high-security' bs instead because they're managed by private companies.
@@AlfieMcSloyyeah, I like the attitude in Sweden. There were ads for becoming a prison guard where I live recently and they were much more along the lines of "Do you want to make a difference in someone's life?" than "Are you big and tough?". There is also quite a bit of help for people after getting out of prison (I don't know how well it really works, but the idea is you already have a job or education planned when you get out) and an ex-con organization that has a good reputation which probably helps too.

The airlock seemed pretty futuristic
@@Boy_Boy Though the funny thing is that that exact system has been around in prisons for pretty much ever, just without the fancy electronics
So the only difference that tech actually makes in this prison is the constant surveillance you're under when you're there, visiting a prisoner, or dare video call an inmate
I was gonna complement the editing, saying something about how it was far better than remotely necessary. But yeah, it's ostonox, makes sense.

Yeah, agree
I'm the opposite. Usually find whosetheboss cringe but I thought this video was fine. Was interesting to see how modern prisons function. If I wanted to know about the people in the prisons, I'd watch one of the millions of other videos on TH-cam about prisons, criminals, and true crime.

yeah it's funny how blind youtubers get to real life when they're too busy focusing on views. He's quite high up there in the chronically youtube pilled creators which is probably why he tunnel visioned into this so hard from a tech perspective. or.. prisons are just so normalised in this colonial age he truly didn't see anything wrong
In a few videos he is not talking about tech things, but about him, his life or whatever. And when i saw those i blocked the entire channel from my youtube. Such an self entitled person, its hard to stand. Im pretty sure its the kind of person you would not want to have on your party.
I don't know if it was just me but this video feels... Pointless, both the prison video and the video talking about it.
Like this tech guy probably just got an invite and was like "okay cool" but it's a harmless video in that it's just talking about the tech stuff in the prison the thing people on his channel go for I guess. Maybe it was just me that felt like both videos had nothing to say, because the actual video is so harmlessly boring the boys are just kind of echoing what they hate about prisons in general rather than adding substance
I thought the video on prison was ok. I actually liked knowing how the stuff works.
