    2:55 , the breathtaking Helios animation perfectly aligned with the genius of Beethoven, there truly are no words , but will say it always gives me chills. . This entire sequence of Fantasia is brilliant. The mountain in the final shot seems to have been inspired by Corcovado in Rio

    I also think that the Pastoral Symphony is one of Beethoven’s best works and Walt and his artists take at conceptualizing Beethoven’s Pastoral into a Greek mythology setting just couldn’t make me more joyful and emotional at the same time. I believe it has to be one of my all-time favorite segments. Night on Bald Mountain is my second favorite or Dance of the Hours- I think I just love all of them! It’s too much which one’s my favorite.

  • @FilmandTVFan

    There is so much beauty and peace felt within the Pastrol Symphony segment, but this ending just ties it all together in one neat blow.
    Everyone living in harmony, relieved that the storm has faded away, as they are now able to celebrate and sleep in a comforting slumber.
    The imagery in this segment just speaks for itself. It’s absolutely breathtaking, along with the outstanding soundtrack by Beethoven.
    One of my favourite sections from one of the greatest films ever made.

    Having learned Greek Mythology myself, understanding the source material helps elevate the overall viewing experience of this, like the fact that three of Zeus' children all make a significant appearance here: Dionysus the God of Wine and Parties, Hephaestus the God of Fire and Blacksmiths, and Artemis the Goddess of the Moon and the Hunt. Close to the end we see Helios the Titan God of the Sun, one of Zeus surviving Uncles that turned against Khronos and sided with Zeus.

    One of the reasons why Fantasia is my all-time favorite films because it’s the unthinkable of the art form combining music and artistry. I wish that it would come back every once a year like playing at the El Capitan theater or have a live to film experience with many different famous orchestras. Why is the studio ignoring Walt’s quotes that Fantasia is the timeless idea in itself and no one’s improving it or elaborating it? I’m deep-deep criticizer of music that gets people into some kind of punk, now to electronic, pop culture-whatever kind of music that still irritates me and irritates me to this day. If I were a filmmaker, I’d would’ve done things musically like making short films, and combining live action and animation together. Just anything I care to bring back the elaborate visuals of classical music again to the world. That’s why Fantasia is my all-time favorite pictures cinematically and musically. I also care deeply about Walt and his legacy as well!

    • @bezoticallyyours83
      @bezoticallyyours83 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because fantasia 2 flopped. And everything they've done the past decade and a half shows they've been phoning it in. Disney can't even hold a candle to its own past wonders.

    • @thomasnicastro673
      @thomasnicastro673 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ You may not like what I’m trying to say but I always say that the magic is still there, just the puny fools at the company are not, what you were saying “Don’t hold a candle to it’s own past wonders,” I can agree with that. But someone who still believes in the optimistic making the impossible possible can happen, just somebody who studies the importance of film from the 20s to the 60s, can make a freshly created motion picture. That’s why I suddenly had an idea of combining both live action and animation together with Fantasia, because it’s never been done that way, or I could be wrong, but still, it’s what I thought about. I’m still a big believer in the magic of Disney and they’re inventive techniques to make, what I said again: the impossible possible. That’s why I still read books of history and especially watching behind the scenes making of bonus feature videos on those that have an elaborate vision of their perspectives are put on screen. That’s what I care about, never the current of what’s happening. I don’t care or even give a damn that the film bombed at the box office because of WW2, or especially what critics think about people don’t experience classical music this or that in an ordinary way-kind of thing. I don’t give a damn about that! And that’s that.

    • @bezoticallyyours83
      @bezoticallyyours83 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thomasnicastro673 Sure. That's why Disney continues to pump out the kinda lazy, soulless slop that I'd expect to see from a company like illumination. One made solely for cash, and not also for the love of art and music.

    1:26, 1:29 Notice how Walt Disney told the animators to draw each cupid without genitalia? The scene with this cupid splashing in the rainbow puddle is one of those examples. Another one is at 1:56 when one slides down the rainbow with one of the pegasus babies, specifically the black one. Can you believe that? The cupids were drawn without genitals to make them Hays-approved. Crazy, right?
