One would think that taking on a speed runner would be a very bad idea. These are people who are adept at analyzing every small detail, every pixel, every weakened invisible wall to near perfection. Even people who report on speed runners have that in the bag to an extent. It's like Billy is asking to be demolished.

I’d like to think that this is the culmination of what he started. His video about Todd Rodgers got a lot of attention on old TG and then when he exposed Billy that’s when I remember everything really taking off. Apollo set everything in motion and I hope Billy gets absolutely demolished for his sake.

Not only do judges hate this, but the opposition can use anything you post on social media as evidence to attack your motives and character. It's an extremely, EXTREMELY bad idea to speak publicly about any ongoing litigation. It's an unnecessary risk.
Karl has other stuff he posts about, so it's not like his income is gonna dry up. In fact, it's probably best if he posts about other stuff so it doesn't look like he's making a career out of fucking with Mitchell. There's really no good reason to post about the case at all, even though we all know he's got it in the bag.

All of the rhymes in the poem are referring to ways that Billy got caught cheating from his falsified gameplay.
The loading screen line refers to the fact that, as seen in the tapes of Billy's world record gameplay, the behavior and the particular way that the game loaded in between levels differed from how it would have worked on the original Donkey Kong arcade machinery, which suggested that he played on illegitimate hardware.
The red joystick refers to another smoking gun that points to Billy's usage of illegitimate hardware, as the color of the joystick on the cabinet that he was playing on did not match up with the color on the original hardware.
I don't fully remember who Todd is, but I believe he was one of Billy's close friends who backed him up in defending that his runs are legit, even though they were clearly faked. Nobody wants to be a Todd!
It is two weeks away now. I anticipate this so much. This will finally bring a clear and undisputable defeat in billy's records.

I'm glad that Australian courts have laws to give the winner court costs. Helps prevent frivolous lawsuits, because generally you wouldn't go to court unless you think you can win. In America, people constantly sue over completely stupid things and the only ones that really win are the lawyers, because they get paid, no matter what
Even if I felt this was a sure win, I'd still probably be nervous as heck because there is always that chance the judge might decide Billy wins. I hope as you attend trial, you take comfort and strength in the fact that you have a massive community behind you. If only this were televised :(. September 16th is my son's 3rd birthday so definitely a day to remember.

Anything can happen in court. I was found guilty of a kick to an ankle resulting in no injury, and no mark when the persons statement claimed they "thought I kicked them but could not be sure". I was given the same sentence as you would get for a first time knife attack - 200 hours CS and a suspended 3 month prison sentence for a crime that simply never took place. I really hope you win and will be sending you all my luck but sometimes, the outcome simply depends on the judges mood and their opinion of you.
luckily, billy is the king of pissing off everyone who's ever heard him open his mouth (and even lawyers have struggled to keep him from doing so), so karl would have to _really_ fumble the bag in most cases

When you get money or recognition for a lie it doesn’t matter what the thing you are lying about is. People will pay to see someone who claims to be the best do the thing. People will buy into their products or give them gifts. Billy is able to swindle people out of money because they genuinely believe he is the best at what he says he is.

@@shidanslair It's not that simple... Everyone was already saying he would be destroy in his last lawsuit and it was not the case because he settle an agreement because of a procedural defect, so technically speaking he never lose.
I'm pretty sure he will win, but you can never be 100% sure of it.
It's always a gamble to go to court, especially against people that have a lot of money. Even if you are 100% right something can happen (procedural defect, agreement, redefinition of the complaint leading to prescription,...).

People do not realize how difficult and complex it is to go to court...
My parents had a car that got destroyed by an error of a big mechanic company. It took almost 10years to have $1500 refounded... During that time my parents were bound by law to keep the car in the same state, but the police were not happy because a car cannot stay in the same parking place for more that one week... Each week I had to move the car to an other parking spot by pushing it, for years... All that for a small refound (compared to the value of the car) years and years after the harm inflicted.
Currently I have a car that has been mass recalled by the constructor, but they do not give any date for the fix... Weeks that the car cannot be use... Fortunaly I do not need it, but thousand of people are currently in big trouble because of it.
So many people believe that we always have what we deserve, especially in the US... They do not understand that meritocratie is a lie.

This is why so many people settle, especially here in the states. It's much cheaper to settle than to go to court usually. My buddy's dad owned a strip mall and some lady was attacked by some geese in the parking lot and sued the dad over it.
It would have cost over 50K (back in the early 2000s) to defend himself in court so he settled with her for around $10,000. Even if he won and The judge had compelled the lady to pay his court costs, he would have never seen a dime.

Given the fact every other court was in the process of proving he was cheating I dont think jurisdiction will matter much. The layout of "I was never banned from Twin Galaxies for cheating" after suing the aforementioned for cheating would do a little bit of damage

@@Multiyuppp No, but Florida law is pretty notorious for loopholes (though "loopholes" might not be 100% accurate, I will admit) that have helped people like Billy from having to actually pay up when they've lost. OJ Simpson was able to use this to avoid paying the civil penalty he was ordered to pay to the family of Ron Goldman by declaring that his primary residence was in Miami.
I don't know if the fact that this case is being tried in Australia and not anywhere in the US will have any bearing on such a development, so if that does happen we will have to see what effect Florida's laws will have on it.
