Backdoor man, decades ago was famously known to be a trope in Blues music in particular. It referred to a lover escaping out the back door as the husband came in the front door. Now-a-days, of course, its a whole 'nother story. But Plant and Led Zeppelin were completely versed in and masters of American Blues style music. So that was the intended meaning. Of course, its art, so we can take it how we like. Pun intended lol.

Robert Page has expanded into other musical arenas. But this music did come on AM radio. Whole lotta love. My dad made me turn off the radio in our car late 60.s Little did he know what kind of bullshit rap music was to come later. He passed but I bet he would rather listen to led zeppelin the the crap out there now
