A very simple, very inexpensive, VERY EFFECTIVE way to practice! All of us ought to follow your lead and take a cardboard cut-out into the woods a couple of times a week. Thank you! Chris (in Maine)
before i lost a bunch of my ability to see, i shot my bows day after day, if it was even remotely fit to be outside here in southern illinois. shot hundreds of arrows week after week and rarely didn't enjoy it time after time. shooting with my son and bowhunting friends/family was such a joy and never got old! thanks for letting me watch you do what used to be a big part of my life....and it still is inside my heart and mind!
Strength and honor my friend. One door closes, another opens. Thank you for the kind words and I hope my videos continue to be that outlet for you. God bless sir!
I started to get shot anxiety ,when after 30 plus years, I tried a longer hold , exaggerated, shoulder tapping shot. I re watched " hitting them like Howard Hill " with John Schulz a few times , decided to go back to a much more fluid shot. As soon as I hit anchor the arrow is gone. Now it's amazing again, arrows go deeper in the target , are faster and quieter. When I tried holding , I would collapse and creep. Don't let anyone kid you, holding a trad bow will make you collapse ,it's the body's self defense mechanism against discomfort, every single person has it Now that I don't hold, all is well again! God bless 🙌
@BackwardsHatNation it's good for relatively newer shooters to explore other options than those that are pushed on social media as THE best way to shoot trad. There are many ways ,and a natural shooting style should never be monetized. We are hunters primarily, not targets shooters. If you do shoot foam primarily ,great! But my deer will not wait for an extended shot process, they will vacate , it's the 6th sense they have. Robert Carter echoed the same beliefs. Look into all aspects of shooting a bow. I started well before social , TH-cam, we had books, and VHS tapes. Nobody shot 3 under , or gap really. And it was simple, TP was unheard of. Sometimes , simple is better, most times actually!
I have a hickory selfbow, myself. I like it. Accurate and quick shooting. Longbows are simple and fun to shoot. ScottinPa.
Very much so!
