Wow! I created the current 100%-TAS for this game and thought that the route I used there would to be unplayable on a console. Thank you for proving me wrong. The way you execute all the tricks in real time is unbelievable. I really enjoyed watching the video.
This is my favorite game of all time, i remember playing it as a kid, the dark Atmosphere and the gameplay, all alone in my room.. Man i used to have nightmares! But thats the reason why i kept playing because its realy a mysterious game.. I still play it ever once in a time. But the music.. Damn thats the best music for a game there is.. I listen it in my car, at work, on my Phone.. I love it, Just love it! Solstice is a game that has a special place in my heart.. Though its a very underestimated game.. I hope People will see now what a nice game This realy is.. Keep the legacy of Solstice on!
Thanks so much for hosting this! I was just looking for Solstice speed runs about a week ago, and happened to miss this during the marathon due to time zone differences. So glad to see it show up in my subscriptions.
Yay! The only game I've ever speed-run. Though my aim was a 1-potion clear, rather than using everything. Pleased to see what kind of goofy glitchy stuff you can do, too.
Hey PJ, how do you commit the pathfinding to memory for games like this? I'd love to do more runs like this, but I'm not sure if my poor mind is good enough to do single-segment stuff efficiently. Any tips are appreciated.
I learned this by just committing the map to memory. I found a good picture of the map on vgmaps, and just spent a day or so memorizing it. It made the "catacombs" section much easier because I could visualize where I was actually going. It just made the pathfinding much easier for me. After you can get through it without double checking the map, just practice practice practice to reinforce it. Contrary to what Patashu says, I don't keep any notes for any of the games I run, and I still know the routes for most of them. Everybody is different though. Notes never really worked for me, but work wonders for other people. Just experiment and find what works best for you. Don't be intimidated by the complicated route in Solstice, though. It becomes second-nature after some practice.
I used to think I was awesome for being able to beat this in 15 minutes as a teenager. PJ beats it 2 minutes faster while going to every single room in the game. God dangit!!
the pasty balding middle aged over weight guy in the my mom bought me this shirt for 9th grade pictures and i still kept it cause im broke really needs to not laugh or talk in any of these speed runs. its extremely annoying and im sure distracting to the runners. if was ever running a game atthis event i wouldnt allow him in the building lolol

You guys that haven't played this game... This run is the DEFINITION of "making it look easy." You have no idea.
PJ and Feasel are always a treat to see, they're always just very pleasant and have a dry sense of humor. Just cool dudes.
PJ is my favorite commentator! He's so funny, but also very informative. Great run!

Make notes, refer to notes. Don't trust your brain or memory if you can use infallible notes :)
