I hope you all enjoy this run! As I said in the run here, this is my favorite video game and I am honored to show off what it is capable of and what the speedrun looks like after 9 years of practice. I really wish the end had gone better, but overall I think it was a pretty representative depiction of the game. Haha. Thanks for supporting GDQ! See you next time. ^_^

I was scrolling through the AGDQ playlist looking for any speedrun made by you and I'm really glad that I found this!
I always knew that you are awesome, I remember that I was cheering you up since your first attempts ^__^
Man I can't believe 9 years have passed already! This is a great pay off for all your hard work after all those different strats and live streams.
The run was almost perfect!! all the first half is so incredible, no time lost, you got all the patterns/strats right and never failed the double phoenix on gargoyles, also I'm impressed with how detailed and technical the speedrun commentary was.
The rest of the run is great too, the only death that really hurted me was the one against Tanzra, but everything else is wonderful.
I'm glad that you are still defending Actraiser 2, you already made this game more popular thanks to your streams and the 2 live runs at these events.
Also Thank you very much, I'm so honored for the little shout out in the interview, you didn't say my name but I know that you were talking about me after you mentioned the SDA forum =) That made my night.

One of the most knowledgeable couches ever. Blechy's info and delivery are top-notch.
I've watched a few of these speedruns by PJ and the motto for this *entire game*, not one stage or two, is: _"Everything is fine until it isn't."_
Also Blechy's commentary is always top-notch.

i am just watching it and: definitely! though this years agdq had a lot of great runners and commentators, pj and blechy are my favorite ones i must say. both of them had the perfect mixture of skill, competence, eloquence and likeability

PJ runs is always my highlights every GDQ, and this run was really good. a lot of quick kills and impressive precision.

I didn't know anything at all about ActRaiser 2. This was great, the movement tech and tight windows of everything is certainly impressive. Great job to the runner and commentary.
Suuper solid run! PJ is my favorite runner, to bad the game didnt crash this time around but hopefully the next run will be more back to normal ;) Also Blechy is one of if not the best commentator out there so in my book this is pretty much a dreamteam couch/run(other then mariopeople). The difficulty on this game was such a brick wall. I couldn't do it without a whole lot of save state cuz I'm bad. Great pro run! Very fun to watch.
I agree. I didn’t like it as much because it wasn’t the first one but it was also because how brutal this game was. This guy is really good.

Dammit I really wanted to attend this. Never been to a gdq event before and I coulda seen PJ run one of my favorite games that I haven't played in like 20 years!
I know I'm two years late but THANKS FOR THIS! Loved this game, at least in theory, because it was TOO DANG HARD for me. Like Weaponlord, I love the concept, the aesthetics, everything about it...I'm just awful at it and not the kind of player who enjoys "git gud" games.

I actually loved this game in my '95 teenager days (around 2010, guess I was into retrogaming already) though I found it hard, I loved the challenge and the visuals. Good times, and a great run to watch !
afaik, there are mario,metroid and zelda level-editors. just imagine:A level/dungeon editor for actraiser I / II...(if technicaly possible)

Oh man, I have been playing this game since it came out and I still can't beat any difficulty higher than normal. I just can't manage the lag and the crazy hit boxes even half this well. Sweet run.

Wow! What a run! I love the first Actraiser and can beat it on professional no problem, but I remember renting this one back in the day and couldn't get anywhere on it. Way to kick it's ass for me!

I had taht game as a kid and i loved the style but damn... it was so hard. I never beated it completely.
Dude Blechy (the commentator) is a god he is always so knowledgeable and eloquent i like him a lot and paired with one of my fav runs makes this just a gem to watch
Can we agree a charity group gave 10,000 dollars during a run in a game about defeating sins is pretty cool? Charity will always beat greed!

Got this game for my birthday when it came out. Was also disappointed in the lack of a sim mode. But man, it's so good. It didn't take long to get the hang of the jumping, gliding, and attacking. Can't do this obvs. But the graphics, music, and gameplay are just so good. Always thought if they implemented the sim mode with the same level of improvement and polish, it would have been remembered as one of the greatest 16-bit games ever made.

That reminds me,there is a code where you use the Master from Actraiser 2 to fight the original Tanzra from the original Actraiser game.

Not as "fun" as usual but instead very precise and great commentary so more professional in a sense, idk, i enjoyed it a lot even though it wasnt classic PJ softlock city :D
I loved the greed fight cuz no one said it was a dragon and when I saw it I was like "Ahhh it's a hoarding dragon. Very clever."

What an epic game and run! I always wanted to like this game when I was younger. I loved the first ActRaiser. This game was way too hard! I might try to play through this game someday.
Blechy is such a good commentator, he pulls you in with his edge of the seat mindset!
Sometimes I seriously think these games just weren't designed to be beaten. As a kid, I had a love/hate relationship with this game. I was super into angels and Christian/Judaic mythology, so playing this game made me feel like the Archangel Michael. But damn if I couldn't kill a single boss.

I played this game when I was younger. The furthest I got was past the first level. That's all.
Well, if you read this Blechy, my goal is to get you on the show one day.
I remember playing this game, I managed to finish this game in a SNES in the 90s when emulators didn't existed, finishing games at those times was a challenge, it was definitely one of the hardest game I played.

unless i missed my guess, this games seems easier to speedrun than it is to play it casually... which is to say is impossible for me to play.

Never got the meme that the second game was trash because it was different from the first one.
It's hands down the best looking platformer on the console and no games comes close to having that many moves, you can glide, double jump, use a lot of different moves/magics, the stages and the enemy are also very cool, not to mention on the same kind of difficulty as Super Ghouls N Ghost. What's not to love?
And the most ironic ending of any video game.

The removal of simulation part was so disappointing, the feeling of helping your flock and guiding them make this game lost the godly feeling I really hate it.
I thought this fckn game was impossible.
