Nice reaction, as always. Recommendation: you should check out Manilla Road, the best American metal band that few metal fans have heard of. Try Up From the Crypt (1987), that's pretty full on. \m/
Thanks for the reaction, buddy. It’s definitely more of a simple song for the band compared to full on prog from previous albums like Crack the Skye (you heard The Czar for that album). It’s this variety I love from the band though and I think you’ll find this tune is a grower you’ll keep going back to. Shame the video was covered, it’s pretty cool too, although at least you could see it. By the way, that’s drummer Brann Dailor singing, he has the smoother, cleaner vocals of the three. And, finally, how about that bass solo from Troy !? 🤘
You should check out Possessed Satan's Curse one of the best death metal songs. These guys are arguably the first death metal band but everyone puts them down since Death stepped into the light and took the spotlight I'm guessing.
Catchy song, I like it too, but I have a faint feeling that you're indulged - at least in your public reactions - more in songs, which have something special, be as an intricately composed structure or some unexpected changes, or an odd voice or using an instrument in strange new ways, etc. Even Mastodon has tons of more interesting songs (Sleeping Giant, or even Gargantuan from this very album), as some other bands, you've already listened to (e.g. Type 0's song Too late: Frozen), and some you still haven't (Vulture industries: The tower). You always have some nice remarks and observations, so I'd like to here some of them from any of these songs or of course other interesting recommendations.
Very little on hushed and grim is commercial, it’s not as heavy as their old music but outside of teardrinker and maybe 1/2 other songs max it’s not a very commercial record. Post CTS most of their music isnt as heavy as their earlier stuff but outside of usually a few tracks on each record they aren’t really that commercial
@@robinsongrilli7227 mainly just show yourself which imo is easily the most commercial song they’ve ever done. Stuff like roots remain and Jaguar god on that album aren’t very commercial tho, steambreather is on the more commercial side for them as well but overall the rest of the album really isn’t that commercial. Mainly just a few songs per record are commercial and alot of the time it’s the single that they release as that get pushed on the radio
More of a radio song from them but it’s great and real catchy, definitely not close to their best stuff but it’s still a quality song just like all their music is.
This song just gives goosebumps to me and I love it I can't wait to meet and greet them on the 21st

You were recommended it PLENTY times in the comments too. Jus sayin.
Mastodon videos are fire. If you want to see a great Mastodon video, watch The Motherload. Change your life. ;)
😁
A classic video lol.
I thought they were a harder band. I think I need to listen to High On Fire now haha. Great reaction
Personally, I reckon this period is too commercial. I prefer until the hunter album. You need to check oblivion, this song is f* awesome!

@@puppetmaster8551 you’re right! I personally like this record too much! I feel emperor a little bit more commercial.
