Thanks for the Review and test Ride, it was one of the most helpful test rides I have viewed to date. I found your trip very similar to how I attend to ride my own once it arrives. My Himiway EC will be my first E Bike. Great Job, Great Review.
Decent review. I've had several ebikes previous to Himiway and have I’ve modifed all of them to fit my needs. I ride mostly on back country dirt roads, old logging roads, and forest trails. I've put 25,000+ miles or so on ebikes over the past 10 years. Maybe 5-10 % of that has been extreme conditions with lots of gravel, rocks, ruts, potholes, mud, and steep curvy narrow paths. This bike is best for predictable conditions. I don't recommend it for rough terrain. At 80 lbs with basic accessories, it's the Harley of e-bikes, a heavy bike that requires pedal assist being on to use the throttle. When you start to peddle and are pointed toward a rock or hole, the bike lunges forward. Obstacles are hard to avoid.
I have watched a bunch of reviews for the Himiway Cruiser and they seem to all be good. One complaint about service, and a couple nicks or dings from shipping, but it appears to be a very nice e-bike. It is a pretty bike too. The area you were in looked very bike friendly, but I didn't see anyone else? And thanks for another great review
Cars flash their brights at Me night riding with that excellent headlight !! And the tail light flashes when using the brakes. Many special things on the Himiway - >>>
The lights are quite bright! You might want to lower the beam a bit so you don't bother other riders and drivers. The stop lights are a nice touch as well, I'm happy to hear you enjoy your bike!
Thanks for a great review . I ordered the Himiway step through ,figuring with a back pack and a some hunting gear on back this would be a easier bike to get on during hunting season. It was nice to see how it rode in different conditions .I should be getting mine in a couple of weeks , I cant wait . Once again thank you for a great review.
Great review! I wish my neighborhood had a interconnecting network of sidewalks like yours does. I’m curious as to why your wiring runs behind the handlebars rather than in front like all the other bikes I’ve seen. Did you mean to do that?
All I do with my Himiway is trail ride, Over big roots, rocks, even some small jumps out on the trails. I ride pretty aggressively too and so I've crashed it, evene. went over the handlebars. 630 miles in 2 months and it's fine, except the front light broke off. In fact, I just ordered another extra battery last night ($550!!!) as they have become available.
I use that little bell a lot and have people thank Me for the warning. I had a regular cyclist compliment My bell the other day when passing Him !! Now I shout " Ice Creme Man coming through " !!
Beautiful area. Have you ridden the Ecotric Fat Tire Beach Snow Electric Bike? Wondering how much a difference there is, and if its worth spending so much more on a Himiway.
You mentioned because the components are mid-grade there may be some issues with things becoming lose, etc. All I use my Himiway for is trail riding and that means over some significant roots, rocks, and even some small jumps. Over 600 miles so far and the only issue is the button controller has lifted up creating a gap in the middle and a concern water could get in there. I'm hoping a little silicone will seal it good enough as it works fine.
Glad to hear it’s working for you. It’s just that the Shimano Altus is low in the totem pole as far as Shimano goes. Felt kind of like plastic and cheap to me compared to higher end versions. Hope it serves you well.
Himiway cost 1399.00 and in my book that is $1400.00 not $1500.00. We own two new Himiway and they are worth more to us than the $2798.00 that we paid before Christmas!
It looks very similar to the Radrover, which I own and I am happy with. When reviews are done they always talk about the components being decent but nothing high-end. The only thing I know is that the brakes work when I need for them to work. The shifter shifts when I need for the shifter to work. I have put over 1200 miles on my bike in the last 8 months and nothing has broke. I have never owned a "high-end" bike so I am curious what the extra cost gets you as far as components.
I was thinking about getting one. After your review, which is really great!!, I want one even more... 😁 But I'd like to use it to ride to work, which is 15 km away. There is one passage, about a kilometer long, up the hill (or mountain). I'd say about 30-40° up. Do you think the himiway could do this? Or is that too much, especially if I'm gonna drive this road on a daily basis?
I don't agree with your assessment of not doing aggressive off road riding. I watched a video of a guy that uses his Himiway when Hog hunting in Georgia. He rides with a trailer through rutted up, muddy terrain filled with a lot of brush and debris everywhere. He even went airborne a couple of times. The bike isn't as fragile as you might think it is and it did just fine. If your talking about hardcore mountain biking or BMX trail riding then ok, you have a point, but the Himiway isn't a cotton candy fluff bike. Show me a better bike for $1,600!
The pedal assist choices of 0-5, 1-5, 0-7, 1-7, 0-9, 1-9 gives you a lot of choices. The amount of speed to each level can be adjusted. The minimum is 20, you can not go below that power choice. You can start with the 20 in the 1 position and increase by how ever much you wish all the way up to 99. I set my 0-5 levels with 0-no assist, 1-20 assist, 2-40 assist, 3-60 assist, 4-80 assist, and 5-99 assist. You can not go beyond 99 at the top range. There is a video on TH-cam to show how this is done.
Pedal assist 1 gets you over 20mph. Isn't that the least amount of pedal assist meaning it shouldn't be going that fast in pedal assist 1 or did I miss something??
So the Cruisers dont come with the K Shield tires, the step thrus do... how do I know this you say? Well I put Tannus liners in both our bikes and my Cruiser has nothing, just the Kenda snow(yes look it up) tires where as the Step Thru has the Juggernauts with the K Shields(different part number on the side). Odd huh...
I need help. I bought a Himiway and received it 2/15/21. All good out of the box and for 3 rides. On my 4th ride lost all power had to walk it home. After checking all connections and finally getting to tech support it was determined controller was the problem. I paid $99 to have a new controller. It has been 11 days and my controller has not been confirmed for delivery. Please help.
That's disappointing they made you pay for a new controller, their bikes apparently actually come with no warranty. Maybe for the low price it's worth the gamble.
I ordered my Cruiser on December 7, 2020 and got it on Jan 3, 2021, so not too bad. But my wife's Step Thru was ordered the same day and we still havent been notified that it been accepted to ship out which means its another 7-10 days after that it actually ships. I will be surprised if we get it by the promised January ship out as advertised when purchased.
@@TheFrickinShredder Are those Chaoyangs decent ? The ones I found pictures of make them look like old rough junk tires. No reflective wall tires anywhere. Why doesn't KENDA sell what is put on eBikes ?
I received a Himiway last week. Complete junk. Never worked. Error 22, 24, 25. After a week of going back and forth, they’re sending me new brakes, throttle, and motor. I don’t even want the bike. Opened a buyer dispute with PayPal. Got the motor kind of working with the most terrible noise. No real power.

I like that. Predictable conditions. I agree. Not the best for extreme off-road. More of a fire road or light dirt trail ride.

Nice review. I'm now leaning more in this direction. Thanks!
Glad to help! Yeah we thought the terrain testing approach was the best way to show its capabilities. I'm the guy who did the review btw.
Thanks guys! ✌️🙂
Really good review. Thanks for the time and effort. Even though we know you had fun doing it.. 👍
Thanks! I did for sure. Great bike for the price.

I see you just recently ordered the Himiway. Did they tell you how long before expecting delivery? I’m also thinking of purchasing same. Thanks.
@@Tony-ij9zx They told me between 6 to 8 weeks . Its been about 7 weeks now. Fedex has it, so I am hoping one more week.
Great review. Have fun!
Thanks! Was hoping the multi terrain testing would be well received.
Looks like a kick in the ass. Been comparing these with Rad, Im going with Himiway. Thanks
Glad the review was helpful!
You can't go wrong with either ebike. Rad or Himiway. The Himiway is just a tad more for the money.
Great review! I wish my neighborhood had a interconnecting network of sidewalks like yours does. I’m curious as to why your wiring runs behind the handlebars rather than in front like all the other bikes I’ve seen. Did you mean to do that?

Funny. Definitely a quality bell.
Beautiful area. Have you ridden the Ecotric Fat Tire Beach Snow Electric Bike? Wondering how much a difference there is, and if its worth spending so much more on a Himiway.
Thanks. It’s Thousand Oaks CA. Lots of great trails. I haven’t ridden the ecotric but I’ve read good things about them.

The website has them listed at $1499, hence the reason he said 1500.
You can go 0-5 , 0-7, 0-9 assist settings if You want. You can also adjust the power level for each assist level. Amazing flexibility - ->
Yeah great versatility to customized your liking. When testing it I realized 9 levels of PAS would probably be best.
@@TheFrickinShredder I'm doing 0-7 at present and find it great for Me. Himiway hit it out da park before releasing into the competitive storm.

Good review just not so sure I would’ve done a break test going into a busy intersection
Good call. Sometimes I have my head in the clouds.
Little off-topic, but I love your neighborhood. Is this NorCal?
SoCal. Thousand Oaks.
What part of the country is this? I really like the layout of your neighborhood.

You're right Eddie, this bike allows for a lot of adjustability. Everyone can fine-tune the assistance to fit their needs and preferences.
What do you estimate is the throttle only range for this ebike?
Check out the Tinkering Turtle videos it may help with accessories.
I actually have. Thanks!
Pedal assist 1 gets you over 20mph. Isn't that the least amount of pedal assist meaning it shouldn't be going that fast in pedal assist 1 or did I miss something??
The bike is a beast even in PAS 1
The percentage of power can be adjusted per PAS level. I have mine set at 0-9, with level 1 being @ 25%, 2 @ 30, 3 @ 40, and so on.

Odd and unfortunate
Would this ebike be satisfactory to someone like myself who is 6'4" 300 lbs?
For sure. Big bike and powerful.
I didn't think that they had tire liners built in. I thought you had to buy and install them yourself. Tenness Armor or something like that.
Yes, it's a nice surprise. These are puncture-resistant tires.
This ebike is water resistan? (rain)
