Only Mike could make street sign printing interesting in a video...dude...how are you this creative and fun?

I've actually been authorized to carry these signs (taking them is normally a highway traffic act offence, make sure you have the paperwork avalaible for inspection lol) as I'm a project coordinator for a contractor doing mainline roadworks. They are MASSIVE. If you think the signs are big, just wait until you see how big a traffic or street light is!

It's amazing how large street signs really are.

I love how this channel often covers questions we might have wondered (or maybe even hadn't occurred to us) but not known the answers to, and gives us a peak into how it's made/done. Such as your videos on the tugboat loggers, cranberry farm, skytrain etc. Reminds me of the TV show "How It's Made". Very cool!

Years ago, when I lived in Sydney (Australia), my father worked for the Department of Main Roads. He was a guillotine operator and would cut enormous signs for the side of outback roads. He would tell me of some of the unpronounceable and mysterious locations mentioned on roads. They would be produced, sent out to the local DMR office in the hope they knew where these places were, and where the sign should be located. Thanks for a great video. I imagined there would be created in a huge factory, not in something more than an normal office.

That's the kind of short, practical and informative video I love. I guess not a lot of people around the world knows how thoese panels are done. Do more like that (in a playlist 'how to...') where we can learn something and meet the people who do it. It's very interesting.

    1. Remember this song? th-cam.com/video/Z1Q7cP3ij5g/w-d-xo.html
    2. The big UV printer works more like an inkjet printer rather than a laser. Inkjets and other "dot matrix" printers pass across the page or other media once for each line, printing one line at a time. Lasers write the image onto a drum, which prints an entire page at once.
    3. IDKWYGNBIKIBTWY.

that's some really impressive equipment! but from my European perspective the no-parking sign design is really small and fussy, with those little arrows and text! and without folded edges (very North-American!), it's no wonder that the last sign shown out in the wild had bent... poor thing :)
