When you lower the mow deck, do you do anything else to start mowing? Yes the motor is already running. Thank you

@@alamatngkamote There is a small switch on the upper right of the dash. Flick that ump to engage the mower deck.

The Deck belts aren't bad it's the drive belt from fan to engine, how about a quick easy way to adjust the deck height and level, apparently these models are from the 80's, and they never die, I just did major overdue tune up.

I'm gonna do a video tomorrow that I'd like you to look at and potentially answer some questions about some pulleys and correct position of things, thanks for your help.

I finally got my deck installed and it was easy until installing the drive belt. I have a new. I have an OEM belt which is thicker and stiffer than the one it came with. I ended up using a Jack between the right front wheel and deck to have enough room to install the belt. I did leave off that small bracket and assist spring this time since it is a bitch to install and didn’t seem to make much difference. With new blades, spindles and pulley I can’t believe how much better the tractor cuts grass and it’s much quieter. I replaced the blades with high lift blades and OMG, the mower actually fills the catch bags. Your video was a big help.

Just above the raise/lower strap you had trouble with there is a silverish metal thing that has a snap pin through it (DO NOT remove the snap pin). This thing is attached to a horizontal spring .... that spring is the lift assist spring. Take a pry bar (DO NOT use your hand) and rotate the silverish thing down. It will take some of the pressure off the lifting strap. This is the procedure shown in the owner's manual.

Here’s another one. The lever that adujusts the height of the deck has a spring under it. It’s seems very sloppy. It looks like one end clips to the underside of the trim and the other next to the screw hole for the cover plate. Does that spring really do anything?

No it just keeps the nob from falling, I have it removed and it works just fine.

The problem I have installing the deck is putting that small bracket on the right side of the deck back on. The one that has the spring attachment.

You can't get the pully tensioner spring closed?

Adjust your deck wheels to the highest setting and then you don’t need another person

I can make a video on it, but really all you have to do is that in reverse, just get something to keep the deck lever down while putting it on the little nubs.
