Hey great video. One problem I had with my 3020 was upgrading cpu from i3 4130 to i5 4590 is that it introduced a restart freeze issue.
Everything else worked fine but any process which needed a restart would require a manual power off/on. Solution was to drop the i3 back in and
upgrade the bios from version A02 to A03. Put i5 back in...all is well.

50 USD ? I'm buying a Dell Optiplex 3020 PC for 230 € instead of 800 € on Saturday because it's over 5 years old! My last PC is twice as old!
A friend of mine ordered it from Wish as far as I know and assured me that it was not a gaming PC, as I only needed one with which you can stream films and series!

I've got this same PC with i5-4590 and am looking at upgrading for 'low settings VR' (I do realise it's probably not an ideal pc to make VR ready ), I was hoping you or someone could elaborate on the 'bottlenecking' thing. I haven't got a proper GPU yet and seeing as i'd like to use it for VR I was thinking of getting something like GTX 1070 or slightly better.
I'm not really PC component savvy but it sounds as if it may be a problem if I upgrade the graphics card too much without upgrading the CPU?
I was also wondering what I would do about that HD/SSD cage if my GPU is too big? the area measures almost exactly 250mm and most gpu's i've been looking at are 240 - 280mm. Should I not worry too much about size and try to house the HD/SSD somewhere else or should I be picking only the GPU's small enough to fit?
Sorry for not being very clued up but any help would be much appreciated!

This a website I use for rough estimates of parts being a good fit for each other or not.
      pc-builds.com/calculator/Core_i5-4590/GeForce_GTX_1070/0A20UNlu/
Normally bottlenecks are exactly as you said the CPU being to weak. Since the CPU is doing a decent amount of the work you need something beefy. I’d say try finding an I7 4th gen and that should remove the bottleneck. If you upgrade and get the GTX 1070+ you’ll be limiting your FPS by around 20-30%.

      @theHardwareBench ปีที่แล้ว

I've done a couple of videos of my 3020 with a GTX 1070, it is a stellar rig for the cost of the build. The Pcie x16 2.0 port might be bottlenecking the card though, I have another Haswell ROG board with Pcie x16 3.0 to test it on at some point.

      here's a link: forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkCentre-A-E-M-S-Series/ThinkCentre-front-panel-connector-power-audio-amp-USB-pinout/td-p/190651
This made it so I could add this to a Cooler Master Elite 310 case from 2009 (I put 4 120mm LED fans in it and it looks pretty nice)
The Heatsink is also upgradable and I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition that i got for free for it missing it's RGB Fan for some reason and then I added a 120mm Blue LED fan
then I went to the local PC recycle/service center in my town and got another 8GB Udimm of DDR3
I then ordered a 240GB SSD for Windows and use the 1TB HDD that it came with as storage
The Thinkcentre M93 is ATX compatible so it fits perfect in the case and with the diagram above the case swap was ultra easy and it works perfectly.

Obviously some models of the cards listed above will vary in power draw depending on overclocking. You will also need a SATA to 6-pin adapter. After testing them all I settled on the 1650 Super, it’s hard to beat the price to performance and power draw, only downside is it only has 4GB of VRAM. The only limitation using an older PC like this has is that for working on some programs like adobe photoshop, premiere, etc. can be CPU intensive, so using a ryzen processor you get way better results.
