Posting this here too for feedback from other AEV Edition owners. I just bought the 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4X AEV Edition (Duramax) and I know its heavier than Non AEV edition. Its an amazing truck no doubt. There is some bounce and at times it can get unbearable on less than perfect freeways at almost any speed and 200 of the 300 mile drive home from the dealer was not pleasant. I spent heck of a lot more, paid over 126k including tax and dealer premium. GMC tell me, after extensive tests, its normal. One or two other reviews mention this bouncing effect and perhaps its more pronounced on the AEV Edition. Being desperate, having spent so much on this new truck, since the Wrangler MTs than came with it appeared to be less than perfect, I replaced all 5 tires at 500 miles with Mickey Thomson Baja Boss (that set me back another $2661) and reduced tire pressures front and back. I have to take this on a longer drive for a test. I think its the Multimatic DSSV, either I have a defective set on mine or its something else with the leaf springs or could be anything. GMC is no help at this time. I may have blown my $$$$$$ on this one.
I picked one up yesterday, AEV edition as well. I’ve put about 400 miles on it so far and definitely don’t have any of that going on. I’ve got another ‘24 2500 at4 and the at4x is a much better riding truck.

I get it. GMC is definitely targeting well-heeled ranchers and farmers for this truck, and in the American South and West, there is certainly a market. Just as people people justify buying an Escalade over the structurally-similar Tahoe or a G-Wagen over a GLE that has the same interior space and engine, buyers definitely do it in the truck class. As for the comparison of the PW vs this AT4X, I believe their missions are different. Ram has long said that the PW is an offroader first, and it shows. F/R lockers, disconnecting sway bar, high ground clearance, and max wheel articulation leave no doubt on their belief, which also limits what it can do in terms of high payload and towing. I do think the AT4X is a better all-arounder, however. But it is damn expensive!
Beautiful 3/4 ton truck. We own a 2019 gas GMC Sierra SLT 1/2 ton 4X4 Crew Cab and love it. The only thing we tow is our rv travel trailer, that weighs between 6000/7000 lbs. This 2024 model AT4X would be a awesome upgrade, but it’s a lot of money, but I understand why. Everything is expensive nowadays, compared to 5/10/15/20 years ago as far as trucks go. This new model, you pay for all the new technology and upgrades inside and out. We would need a good trade in value with our current truck, and a big down payment to get this. But for now, we are happy what we got, and currently have around three more years until our truck is paid off. So maybe in the future, this is something we can consider, but for now we love our current truck and we don’t put a lot miles on it, so I feel it can last a long time.

Good job negotiating the narrow road. These are perfect for wide open areas, such as the Great Basin. However for the more narrow fire roads in the Sierras, a midsize like a Gladiator, Tacoma or others is much easier to negotiate.
