When I lived in Clowne the beauty salon was the TSB bank, my Dad worked at this station before I was born as well I wish he was still with us to see what an absolute fantastic job the guys are doing for everyone to enjoy
Clown used to be the home of the Tech College for the National Coal Boards Apprenticeships training many years ago, I spent many a happy hour there as a Young Man. Most of my family worked on the railways, some for British Rail in their later years and others for railways within the Coal Board. Strangely my wife's family were also LNER/British Rail orientated as well. Great Video WR 👍🇬🇧👍
Thank you for the update on the Clowne Railway Station Restoration. A great video to watch and absorb. Enjoy your weekend, and see you on the next! Cheers mate! 🇬🇧🙂👍🇺🇸
A grand morning filming 👍 clock will be cherry on the cake. I think they should be a plaque with all the lads name's on who work on the project. Cheers 🍻 paul
Surreal looking place with two short pieces of track going nowhere! It is a pity that the lines don't go anywhere. But I suppose saving the building and the arch was worth it. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks for the update Paul. Looks like its going to be a lovely place when finished. You keep bringing them lam tarts all the time will domesticate them! Cheers mate, stay safe.
Another good'n Paul. Wheelbarra' lad is a wee star; he makes me smile. Those tree roots are crazy - nature is magnificent at finding her way into all the nooks and crannies we humans leave unused. That clock is cracking eh - I bet the lads will be well chuffed when it finally gets put back up on the wall. Looking forward to the next update. Have a good weekend.
Always good to see some good news and updates. To mention the 'elephant in the room', I imagine the good people of Clowne get fed up with people calling them clowns etc. Just east of St Helens and south of Newton Le Willows is Vulcan Village (named after the VUlcan Steel Foundry), where people get fed of being told to "Live long and prosper" and other Start Trek related comments.
Thanks Jenny. Judging by the comments I get on Facebook etc to my Clowne posts, you're probably right 😄. Incidentally, on the Sheffield Monopoly special edition board, Clowne was in the place of Old Kent Road. Which I always found odd, given it's not in Sheffield.

Thanks very much David. A great family connection to everything thats going off there. Is that old Tech college the one opposide the old rectory?
@@WobblyRunner Yes it was down on the junction of Rectory Rd, Church St if what's left of my memory is working right lol 👍
The lads are doing a fantastic job of the station, keep up the good work. 👍
Cheers Graham. They sure are 🙂👍

👍🙂 100% agree.
Shame the platforms and rest of the station were bulldozed for nothing. Nice to preserve what's left.
Thanx for keeping us updated its looking well.
Welcome Chris 👍

That's looking fantastic now Paul, glad to see you out and about again
You missed one of the best sites of interest in Clowne….
The Nag’s Head beer garden. It’s well worth an explore 😊
Haha if only they were open at 10am 😁
Great stuff love following. This
👍 glad you're enjoying Tony
Fabulous! What about the other line with Clowne and Barlborough? Is that still there?
Yep. Well, as a greenway trail now. Nicely kept though.
But on trains
Sadly not.
I think Clowne has seen its last train sadly.
