In a world where everyone one is in a hurry, projects like this are a labour of love and skill over how fast we can get it done. Inspiring.

I know. I'm envious of them. Their enthusiasm and determination to bring back steam locomotives to life as well as reclaim and relay track over abandoned right of way that were victims of the infamous Beeching Cuts is something to be admired.
Sadly, here in the states, you don't see a lot of that here anymore. While there are a few groups like the Wiscassett, Waterville & Farmington Railway and the Project T1 recreation doing their part, most people are into forming Rails To Trails instead of preserving and creating tourists railroads thanks to NIMBY's and government restrictions.

@@georgecarter838 thankfully Union Pacific is big into Steam. Personally I think someone should come in and make a PRR Heritage railroad.

@@georgecarter838 Check out the T1 Trust in the US. They are building a PRR T1, 4-4-4-4 expected to be completed in 2030. Once completed, they will run trials to go for the Steam Locomotive speed record. There is both engineering and anecdotal evidence that the engine can run at 140mph. All engineering issues (wheel slip, etc) will be solved through modernization of parts. The train will attempt to break record on the parts of the Northeast Corridor where speeds in excess of 126MPH are allowed. I believe The UK's Mallard currently holds that record at 126MPH. I encourage you to donate to T1 Trust if you believe in the cause.
Please correct any false information I may have provided by commenting below as I am currently on the toilet.

Fantastic news, yet another new loco being built from scratch. First, there was the A1Tornado, and presently a Gresley P2, a BR Clan class, a Gresley B17 and now this BR tank loco, all being built from scratch.. No one dreamt of this kind of thing happening back in the day when rusty old locos were being rescued from Barry Scrapyard to run on heritage railways. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Love tank engines. The 82000 class is a beauty. It never ceases to amaze me, that no one in the past, never thought to keep even one example. Being BR standard class, they weren't that old, when they were retired. So finding a good one wouldn't have been difficult in the late 1960s. Neve mind, it's great to see 82045 coming along. Cheers to everyone involved. 👍

Wonderful video! Thank you for producing this and uploading! My love of the Riddles Class 3MT 820XX comes from a rather strange source: Born in 1957, my favourite childhood toys were my Lone*Star Locos pocket money railway models. Virtually every box had a picture of one of these in green livery printed upon it - whatever the contents! (The actual contents - straight track, coal wagons, etc. was rubber stamped upon the end box lid.) Naturally, Lone*Star did make a model of a 3MT (so, for once, the box picture was correct!) and I have a great many examples in different liveries. They are beautifully detailed - especially considering that they were in OOO Gauge (very slightly smaller than N Gauge).

I think only locos of the Big Four should be re -made, ex BR locos are too recent, almost « too modern » ie not different enough. Just think of a remake of an ex SR/Brighton « K class mogul « back on the metals! Now that would be superb, or even a giant Brighton Baltic tank, or even a stout-hearted modest 0-6-0 C2X ….not to say an I3 4-4-2T and superheated but of course, if only to show all others the way! 😊
