Hey there.. As regards focus.. If you have'nt done so already make sure you get the sigma usb dock and calibrate your lens to your particular camera.. It wont make any difference to speed but it will enable you to nail subject everytime. Its something that may be worth mentioning should you do any follow ups on art lenses : )
Quick question. I shoot football. When a team wins a championship then runs to a spot on the field for team photos with the trophy, the family runs up close with phone cameras making it hard for me with my Canon to get far enough back. This is at night under field lights so I am trying to decided between the 24 you have here or the 35? I have tried the 16mm but that is way too wide. 24-70 is expensive, so I am looking at the 24 and 35. I dont think the RF 35mm lenses are as good as these so that is another option. RF 35 f1.8 is 399 us dollars now. Thx for your time.
Why is the Canon so expensive? Simple - it operates in a restricted marketplace and can only be bought by Canon users. Not only is the Sigma available to a bigger marketplace but if you swap from Canon to Nikon Sigma will change the mount reasonably inexpensively. As to weather sealing - surely this is a red herring? Just how many lenses/cameras have you owned which have been damaged but which weather sealing would have saved? I suggest that for you and just about every photographer the answer is none! Glad you appreciate vignetting but so easy to correct in post for the tiny proportion of your shots using full aperture.
It's a shame about the vignetting, most people probably buy an f1.4 lens specifically to take advantage of f1.4 and, if you're not afraid to slum ut a little, the Canon and Sigma are only separated by about £150 used. I do really like Sigma Art lenses, though.
@@Simon-SBL ok. But then the Sigma is sharper I read everywhere. Since those f#ckers at Canon have decided to not let Sigma/Tamron etc make RF lenses. I’ve decided to even buy new EF lenses as I don’t see much degradation with using the adapter ring. Of course the RF lenses are better if you go for L series. But that’s too much for my amateur photography status and then the Sigma is better than the cheaper RFs too and at least let in more light.

Really love this review. I also love your video quality. Subbed.
Is it good for making a youtube video? Like with Canon 70D? Will that give a good depth of field and that nice blur background?

think u are looking at Canon EF 35mm F1.4 and not the EF 35mm F1.4 mark II, cuz the mark II is waaaaaay more expensive
@@MaartenOosterbaan Yes, there isn't much point in comparing the EF 35mm F1.4 mark II because they are not even closely comparable by price.

I bet it's cleaned right up in camera lens correction in lightroom, to the point in real photos you don't even notice it.
not a canon fan but beautiful video 🙂
Price: "Absolute bargain at half the price of Cannon" - Price rating: 7 out of 10. A bit contradictory there.
I need help turning into ice on a video… can you help
