Why so little likes? As a hardcore photographer who really pushes his equipment to the max. My gear looks (is) abused.. I think this is one of the best reviews i ever watched.
I have this lens for about 6 years now. Survives bad weather, sand, had about 4 hard drops on the floor already.
Still 100%. After about 500.000 clicks in the snow, in underground caves, 20 wedding parties, sweat, dirty fingers & dust it still works like a charm 🥰
Only one little thing: after a couple of years abusing the lens, now sometimes the seal rubber gets loose. But this is easily fixed by pushing it back.
    Would recommend! 🤠

I don't understand how u can say it's not precise the AF. Using an R6 and it's spot on.
All lenses misses a few shot of a hundred and mostly using this for portraits. So it might need to be calibrated or updated. The AF isn't the quickest I'll give you that. But I'm regards of missed shots that's not my thruth.

Hi. Thanks a lot for the good review🙏. They, canon 85 1.4 L and sigma 85 1.4 dg hsm art, are so different that you can even have both (if you can💲), I only have the 85 art but I had the opportunity to test the canon thoroughly enough. I use the sigma in a 6d mark1 and my humble opinion is that the sigma is more "mathematics or science"😁 and the canon is more "artistic" (although the sigma is "art" the canon seems more "art" to me), I am referring above all to "rendering", the canon perhaps has a more "fine art" render and the other is more "scientific sharpness", the canon has an incredible bokeh for an 85, very very smooth, the best bokeh of all the 85 that I have tried (I have not been able to compare with the new RF or the old 1.2 L), and as you said the canon is smaller, less heavy, stabilized (very useful in 85mm especially outside the studio and in low light), and in canon DSLR'S it is likely that the focus is more precise than the sigma, and the sigma (at least in canon 6d), with natural light I notice some dull colors, especially in cloudy or not too much light, but with flashes or studio lights it is phenomenal, and I have also noticed that it is very delicate with the shutter speed more than other 85 that I have used, you have to raise the speed quite a bit speed because otherwise the image almost always comes out blurred or lacks sharpness, in other 85 they are not so delicate in this, but at the end of the end I think that sigma 85 art, is a highly recommended lens and has its strengths, and it is likely that the Sigma is better in the studio than the canon, yes, you have to learn a bit to dominate it, heavy weight and coexist with the focus, that with such shallow depths of field, especially if it is very open, it can make you miss some shots.. but for me in general both are highly recommended options 👍 (but, althought both are 85mm, they are more differents, in many ways...and I speak, mostly, of the image they produce)

Another thing, let's see if you can confirm this for me, please, both the sigma 85 and the canon 85 blur the background more, yes, but when it comes to taking environmental portraits it doesn't seem to me that they do a spectacular rendering, but rather that they are strong on everything in closer or half-length portraits, because although the background blurs a little less, I like much more the rendering for environmental portraits of the 35 art (the one from 2012) more or much more. (I could put example images if necessary) what do you think about it? (whoever wants can comment) thank you 🙏

I love the size, the bigger the better. Dont care about how heavy it is.

The Canon Lens is NOT slightly more expensive, It's 50% more expensive, relative to price for both lenses, the Sigma give you more BANG for your hard earned money.

    Hi !
I'm new on video filming and cameras.
    Can you help me?
It does work this lens for video with a EOS R canon.
