First of all, thank you for sharing your adventures. I love your content. However, the music is really distracting. I think the sound of the sea is already a great background.
Thanks for watching. I agree and I am getting cool idea about that. I did music to cover some other sounds like Motor.. Me talking to myself lol and my friends. I just got an idea for the future videos. Very good idea. :) Thanks alot.
I do not do tours but you can contact Coastal Expeditions on Shem Creek and check their tours to Bulls Island. Good people to deal with and reasonable price too. They are based in Mt. Pleasant . Thanks for watching
I don't look for them but my friend Rosa knows a spot where we can go and find some. I contacted her last week and that trip will happen soon. I am looking forward to it. Will do a video. Also looking at a spot locally where they have been dredging big time. It will be a busy video making season. Thanks for watching. :)
I get itchy sitting home this time of year and not go out shelling so I go on my days off. Is not hot and more shells this time of year. Is bad with mosquitoes and horse flies in the summer. Thanks for watching
I also thought the music wasn’t conducive to the walk. But I really enjoyed the walk you are informative and easy to understand. I hope someone is following behind you cause you are putting some nice specimens back Thank you hope to see you again
I agree with the music. Learned few things. Tried to delete it after uploading and recording new one but I guess I can't unless I use only music without me explaining. Will do better in future videos. Nobody was picking them up after me. Two of my friends were picking up their own away from me and they are picky too. Thanks for watching:)
Would love to see the olive shell island beach and the crabs scrambling for bait in the tidepools please. Your environmental care and education is a good example for us all.
I think I am going to Olive shell spot on Wednesday and have not been for a while. Is 3 hours drive but I love road trips. This time wont be on the boat but walking :) Need some exercise :)
The whole video was 3 hours total but had to cut lots of it so is not long and I can work on other trips. That I did last week. Working on more videos. Thanks for watching
Hello! Your video was recommended to me randomly by TH-cam and I'm so glad I checked it out. You have a very friendly and positive attitude, and I love seeing a different part of the country and learning about shells and sea life. Thank you so much for your videos!
Thank you for your encouraging words and watching my videos. I am learning everyday about this video thing. Trying my best. I love to travel and do stuff and love to share my experience with everybody. Life is better outdoors. I will be doing videos soon. Thanks again
Thanks for watching. Hours wont be enough to cover the whole island. ..My friends always joke and say "Take me and leave me there for a week and remember to come back and pick me up " Lol. Thanks again
Thanks for watching. I am learning and will be working on improving the video and sound quality :) Ugly voice and face has to stay the same lol Thanks again
@@inletboy I like hearing your thoughts as you shell, your ideas on what you're seeing and even when you're talking with your friend and her thoughts. I think it brings the whole experience to us. Nothing ugly about a beautiful accent.
OH MY GOODNESS FRIEND! How I would love 2 b where your at! Oh my, what beautiful shells. I'm from south, low south of Ga. and I don't get 2 see places as this. Thank U for sharing your videos. I truely enjoy getting away for a few mins and love shell hunting. I make a lot of chimes with the ones I do get. Stay safe and continue having fun and look forward for the next wideo. God bless ! 🥰
Thanks alot for your encouraging words. I am learning and love outdoors. There are tons of places with shells here and I have been doing my videos using my phone to video..edit and publish. Will get them better soon as I am learning everyday. I did a good trip yesterday and will work on it this whole week and hopefully the results and editing is better. Thanks for watching:)
A ton of whelks wherever you are, are Kiener Whelks! The ones with the very pointy spiers on the outside and the bright orange on the inside. Also the large clams you're calling Venus clams are actually Quahog clams. They can get so large and they're beautiful sometimes on the inside as well. Also the beautiful colorful part of the inside of a Pen Shell is called Nacre. Such an amazing place to go shelling. I am so jealous!
You are correct ..Kiener Whelk which is a variant of Knobbed whelk according to Living Beaches Of Georgia And The Carolinas by Blair and Dawn Witherington. I think I should put two together one day and show it. Very good idea. The same book also Puts Quahogs under Venus Clams. Southern Quahog is bigger than Northern one except is white inside instead of deep purple. Thanks alot and for a great idea. Maybe I should put all whelks next to each other and run the video from one side to other to show them from the bottom and top.
We take vacations just to find shells ,teeth, rocks, whatever we think is cool.. this place looks amazing.. do you take tours out ? Its so expensive in florida for tours that we have thought about getting some type of small boat to avoid the crazy prices there..but that barrier island your at is by far the best place we have seen.. we would love to come see it
I dont take tours but you can get tours via Coastal Expeditions in Mt Pleasant, SC . They are very good people and the tours are reasonable $. Check their website for Bull Island Tour. I have gone with them before because I wanted to hike through the Island to the beach side. That hike is really nice and you will see tons of wildlife on the way to the beach.
Thanks for watching and your comments. These are around Charleston County SC. In SC we have beaches like that from the border of Georgia all the way north to Georgtown SC.
Thank you for taking us along on your expedition. I hope to find a knobbed and channeled whelk one day. I'm wondering if the material you found is actually amber from trees? If it is, it will glow under a black light😊.❤
Thanks for watching and your comment. Those shells are all over the islands that I go to. There will be more of them in April because they come to shallower water to lay eggs. At least that's what I was told is the reason that we find more that time of year. I will have to find a black light and test that. I think my son has a light in his room. Thanks again
Can you collect shells and mail them to people. So many people that will never be able to collect shells would so love the shells that you're just tossing away saying Oh Well, no big deal!!!!!
I only pick special ones :) I am sure there are places that ship shells but I like to look at them and let them go back. Some of these islands have rules on bag limits too. I know a spot by Edisto Island where you are not allowed to pick any shells ( Botnay Bay) . Thanks for watching friend
No but I have videos of Murrells inlet area that I uploaded this month. They were at Huntington Beach State Park. This video is close to Charleston. I am doing a video of Murrells Inlet on Tuesday. I have few cool spots in the inlet for shells and will be there on Tuesday. Monday going to get some driftwoods. Thanks for watching
I did read that too. Will take it to the US wildlife to confirm. If it is then it has to go back. US has not changed the law since 70s on possession of Ambergris. Someday they will change the law but I guess nobody looked it up since early 70. Other countries have except US and India.
Hi Inletboy! Thanks for that info. Wasn't aware of laws. Interested in results of what it may be! Enjoy your vids! Having moved away from NE coast, nice to be able to go to beach with you! Thanks!!! Have a great day everyone! 😀

Yes.. went to that area yesterday and it was rough. I am glad I know the area. Shallow spots can be a sinking trap when waves are high. You will be 1/4 miles from the shore and all the sudden you hit a sand bar. Heavy fog is a challenge too. Yesterday was very foggy but I knew the area very well.

No.. This one is by boat North Of Charleston. Folly beach is beautiful too and love that area.

Found a few this year. Never know what you find on the beach.
The Hard rock is a Jaspis or a Bernstone. Both semi-precious stones!
Never knowing what you find them. I used to find all kinds of stuff and either leave them there or give them to my buddy who collected them.
So True! Up here in the noryh, we only have Bernstone in Denmark or Balticum. And even then, they are Hard to find. Many who love to collecting them.
